  I have a couple of columns in jqGrid with edittype="select". How can I read the option value of the value currently selected in a particular row? e.g.: When I provide the following option, how do I get "FE" for FedEx, etc. editoption: { value: “FE:FedEx; IN:InTime; TN:TNT” } getRowData() for the rowId/cellname returns only the text/displayed component of the select. If I set a "change" data event on the column, the underlying fires change events only on mouse clicks, and not keyboard selects (there's numerous references to generic selects and mouse/keyboard issues). Bottomline, when a new value is selected, I need to know the option value at the time of the change, and also prior to posting to the server.

• Android ImageButton with a selected state?

  If I was using an ImageButton with a selector for its background, is there a state I can change which will make it change its appearance? Right now I can get it to change images when pressed, but there seems to be no "highlighted" or "selected" or similar state which lets me toggle it's appearance at will.   Hello, So I have an iPhone application running that is controlled at the highest level by a UITabBarController. It is the default black Tab Bar at the bottom that you see in many iPhone apps. I am kind of new to iPhone SDK programming, and I know I have seen other apps that have their own background color for the Tab Bar at the bottom. I am not sure if they are using this tab bar as I am, as the main controller for their app, but the question applies to this: How do I change the background color of the main UITabBarController in my application? I wanted to change it to a dark shade of green similar to the colors of the navigation bars and labels I have placed in my app. I find it weird how Apple makes it really easy to change the color of Navigation Bars (not controllers), and other things, but when it comes to controllers (in this case a Tab Bar Controller), I cannot find a single way to implement this cleanly and efficiently.   I'm implementing role based security using Microsoft's membership and role provider. The theoretical problem I'm having is that you implement a specific role on a method such as: [PrincipalPermissionAttribute(SecurityAction.Demand, Role="Supervisor")] private void someMethod() {} What if at some point down the road, I don't want Supervisors to access someMethod() anymore? Wouldn't I have to change the source code to make that change? Am I missing something? It seems there has to be some way to abstract the relationship between the supervisors role and the method so I can create a way in the application to change this coupling of role permission to method.   I am writing a C# program that uses System.Threading.Timer to timeout on a UDP socket ReceiveAsync call. My program polls a remote device, sending a UDP packet and expecting one in return. I use the timer in one shot mode calling Timer.Change every time I want a new timeout period. For every occurance of a timeout I'd like the timeout handler to have a different piece of information. If I change the object I pass to the Timer on creation it doesn't seem to change when the handler executes. Is the only way to do this to destroy the timer and create a new one? Thanks,

• Cannot read/write FTP directory vsftpd on centos 6.0 (empty folder)

  I have Centos 6.0 and installed vsftp with YUM, I added a user with Webmin panel, set its home dir to "/var/www/html" and its shell to "/bin/sh", user id is 500, user group is same as name: "adrian_ftp". When I start a ftp program it logs in but the remote folder always shows empty. I set directory owner and group to adrian_ftp:adrian_ftp , no change, I also made them 0777, no change. Any ideas? • Windows service fails to start with custom user until started once with local user

  All of a sudden my Windows service application after installation does not start. (Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do.) The service uses a custom user. If I change the logon setting to use the local system account, the service starts fine. Then when I go back and change the login setting to use this custom account (local user - custom user under user group), the service will start. Why doesn't it work in the first place?

• Changing UIImageView animation speed

  I am using the UIImageView to animate a bunch of images. I know that I can change the speed by altering animationDuration, but that doesn't seem to take effect until the animation is restarted. My problem is that beside not really wanting to have to restart the animation as this limits me to only being able to change the speed once per cycle, there also doesn't seem to be a way to find out what frame is currently being shown and I would therefore have to rely on a timer to "guess" which one it is. So my question is whether there is a way to change the speed without restarting the animation and if not is there some way I could avoid the aforementioned problem? I'm not too keen to write my own animation class, but may end up having to if there isn't a nicer solution.

• Vmware Player Network adaptors have no network or internet access in windows 7 enterprise

My VMWare player installation has setup the two network adaptor VMnet1 and VMnet8 and they are picked up as unidentified networks with no network access (i need this to activate my windows server installation on it). The option to change the network location is not available (this might be because of network policy on the domain despite having set this as configurable in the local security policy section). Is there anyway i can change how these networks are detected or alter the configuration of vmware to get around this?
