I seem to be writing a ton of Java code to iterate through lists of RowResult's when, in SQL land, I could write a simple query. Am I missing something? Or is Hbase missing something?

    I have two tables like the ones below. I need to find what exchangeRate was in effect at the dateOfPurchase. I've tried some correlated sub queries, but I'm having difficulty getting the correlated record to be used in the sub queries. I expect a solution will need to follow this basic outline: SELECT only the exchangeRates for the applicable countryCode From 1. SELECT the newest exchangeRate less than the dateOfPurchase Fill in the query table with all the fields from 2. and the purchasesTable. Here i use 2 subqueries but they have the same where condition.. The seek time is doubled.. Is there a way to optimize the whole query to a single subquery? Thanks in advance

Is there a way to do this ? I actually use IBX and Firebird 2.1 I don't know how many parameters in IN clause.
