• A submenu (`ToolStripMenuItem`) does not show automatically.

  I have encountered strange problem with a three-level context menu. In some situation the sub menu does not show automatically. I have following structure of the menu: * AAA - level 1 * BBB - level 1 * CCC - level 2 * xxx - level 3 * yyy - level 3 * DDD - level 2 * zzz - level 3 * vvv - level 3 I start from a menu with two option AAA and BBB. After I move the cursor over BBB the second-level menu appears with two other options CCC and DDD. So far OK. Now, when I quickly move the cursor over DDD the third-level sub menu does not show up, but when I move the cursor back to CCC the sub menu shows up, and when I go back to DDD then the sub menu also shows. Why it does not show at first time? Have you ever encountered such a problem? I fixed the problem with MouseEnter and MouseLeave events, but I still wonder why it does not work properly without the events.

  how can i check if an ID of a clicked element is lets say 'target'. what i am trying to do is actually show and hide comment form on clicking in the text field and hide it when the user clicks out of the form. the problem is that if the user clicks Submit button the form hides and nothing is sent over. so i'll have to check if the submit buttons id matches the clicked element and not hide it in this case. i am using ruby on rails remote_form_for and onblur and onfocus events now. this is my bigger form that i am showing. <div id="bigArea" style="display:none"> <% remote_form_for @horses do |f|%> <%= f.text_area :description, {:onBlur=>"{$(bigArea').hide();$('smallField').show();}"} %> <%= f.submit "Submit"%> <% end %> </div> and this is the smaller form field that hides everytime you click in it. <div id="smallField"> <%= text_field_tag 'sth',"Click to comment, {:onFocus=>"$('bigArea').show();$('smallField').hide();"} %> </div> My question is how can i disallow the form to hide when a user clicks submit button? i suppose i should check which element's id has been clicked. and if it's submit button's ID i should not hide the form. • Cell Dequeue problem when table inside another table's cell content view

  I am using two table views (Main Table and Sub Table), one table inside other's cell. I am adding Sub Table in Main Table's cell content view. I am also using different Cell Identifier for both table cells. Now, issue is : When - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath is called, very first time cell of Main Table is generated and when I scroll up/down they all are just dequeued, so it is expected and standard behavior and working fine. But, cell of Sub Table is getting created/allocated every time. It is not dequeued as it should be. I guess, its happening because Sub Table is part of Main Table's Cell Content view. But not sure and don't know how to resolve it. Can somebody help me to find the solution?

• C++ STL Map vs Vector speed

  In the interpreter for my experimental programming language I have a symbol table. Each symbol consists of a name and a value (the value can be e.g.: of type string, int, function, etc.). At first I represented the table with a vector and iterated through the symbols checking if the given symbol name fitted. Then I though using a map, in my case map<string,symbol>, would be better than iterating through the vector all the time but: It's a bit hard to explain this part but I'll try. If a variable is retrieved the first time in a program in my language, of course its position in the symbol table has to be found (using vector now). If I would iterate through the vector every time the line gets executed (think of a loop), it would be terribly slow (as it currently is, nearly as slow as microsoft's batch). So I could use a map to retrieve the variable: SymbolTable[ myVar.Name ] But think of the following: If the variable, still using vector, is found the first time, I can store its exact integer position in the vector with it. That means: The next time it is needed, my interpreter knows that it has been "cached" and doesn't search the symbol table for it but does something like SymbolTable.at( myVar.CachedPosition ). Now my (rather hard?) question: Should I use a vector for the symbol table together with caching the position of the variable in the vector? Should I rather use a map? Why? How fast is the [] operator? Should I use something completely different?

  Hi, currently I am using yet 1.1 specs, so I am trying to make simple what is too complex for me :p, managing backing beans with conflicting navigation rules, external params breaking rules and so on... for example when I need a backing bean used by other "views" simply I call it using FacesContext inside other backing beans, but often it's too wired up to JSF navigation/initialization rules to be really usable, and of course more simple is more useful become the FacesContext. So with only a bit of cross browser Javascript (simply a form copy and a read-write on a "proxy" form), I create a sort of proxy form inside the main user page (totally disassociated from JSF navigation rules, but using JSF taglibs). Ajax gives me flexibility on the user interaction, but data is always managed by JSF. Pratically I demand all "fictious" user actions to an hidden "iframe" which build up all needed forms according JSF rules, then a javascript simply clone its form output and put it into the user view level (CSS for showing/hiding real command buttons and making pretty), the user plays around and when he click submit, a script copies all "proxied" form values into the real JSF form inside the "iframe" that invokes the real submit of the form, what it returns is obviously dependent by your choice. Now JSF is really a pleasure :-p My real interest is to know what are your alternative strategy for using pure Ajax and JSF 1.1 without adopting middle layer like ajax4jsf and others, all good choices but too much "plugins" than specs.

My problem is that the add_skill_link works fine if i use from the server side, i mean rendering from server side. And gets double escaped when using within the upper described way. I tried to remove the escape_javascript from the add_skill_link bit still not good. Any ideas?

• problem linking vba modules in MS Access 2007

  I am upgrading a database system from Access 2000 db to Access 2007, which communicates with several chemistry measuring devices(pH meter, scale, etc) via an RS 232 serial port. The first db consists of several modules containing vba code that enables the communications with the ports, as well as supports the code behind the forms in the second db. The user, or lab tech, navigates through the forms in the second db to interact with the lab devices, and also to generate the reports which display the info. from the devices. The reports are also part of the second db. The code works in Access 2000, but once I convert it to 2007, the code in the second db cannot find the function calls in the first db that dictate the progression from screen to screen. I have tried importing the modules into the second db, and I have tried linking them, but it still doesn't work. The error message is #438: "Object doesn't support this property or method." Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here is the code for the first function that is not being called correctly: Description: ' This routine is used to return to the calling form and close the active form. The code basically cancel any node checking occuring on the form. Single-clicking the top node to check it works well : your click is immediately canceled. Yet if you double-click the checkbox, it will display a tick. But verifying the check state through a right click will yield a Checked = False dialog. How come? Is it a bug (I'm using the latest .Net Framework 4.0, and he same occurs in 2.0), or am I doing something wrong here? Is there a work around? Thanks! • Why would the same web form control render different "onclick" logic based on the page structure?

  It was hard to title this question. :) I have a user control that is used to display a list of lookup items in my database and a delete button for each item (Editor User Control below). The delete button has an onClientClick event used to display a confirmation dialog in JavaScript. On page one, the confirmation pops up and functions correctly. The overall structure is: Master Page Page Editor User Control List of items with delete button On page two, the confirmation pops up but regardless of the answer, the page posts back anyway. The structure of this page is: Master Page Page User Control Editor User Control List of items with delete button For some reason, this makes a difference in how the delete button is rendered. P.S: I'm using DDD to learn I have an ACtion in a Controller and it'll save an entity (from my model) by a repository (for a database). My doubts is, How can I get the informations from the View and save it by a repository in my Controller ? • Populating PDF Fields using FDFACX

  I was recently asked to preform some updates to an existing PDF document. The changes required were completed using Adobe Designer (the only tool I have available to me). These changes included alignment, and new text. Note that there were fillable form fields on the forms, and they were left untouched. The saved version of the form was then put into our ASP.NET application, which pre-populates the form fields were applicable (things like name, address etc... things we have in our database). For some reason, the new form does not populate. I've confirmed that the form fields have the correct names, that the actual file (the pdf) that is being pre-populated has the same permissions as others that are working. There are no errors thrown, and no difference in a step through with a working form and a non-working form. This is a legacy project and I have no real experience with the PDF populator they are using ... FDFACX .NET? And can't find a lot of info on it online. Any ideas?
