  • [Castle-DynamicProxy] What really interceptors do with my c# class?

    - by Pandiya Chendur
I was asked to implement castle dynamic proxy in my asp.net web application and i was going through couple of articles which i got from Castle Project and Code Project about castle dynamic proxy in asp.net web application.... Both articles delt with creating interceptors but i can't get the idea why interceptors are used with classes.... Why should i intercept my class which is behaving properly?

  • C++ Newbie Question

    - by JavaMan
I am from a Java background and is learning C++. I encountered the following C++ code: String source = String::New("'Hello' + ', World'"); As what I understand so far, this should be a call to static member function 'New' of class 'String'. But, I've searched through the whole header file defining 'String', there is not any static member named 'New' in the String class or its super classes. Is there any special meaning attached to String class or the New member function in C++?

  • Get recursive data with sql server

    - by user228777
I am trying to get recursive data. Following code returns all parents on the top and then the children. I would like to get data Parent 1 – his children then parent 2 - his children then parent3 – his children. How do I do this? USE Subscriber GO WITH Parent (ParentId, Id, Name, subscriberID) AS ( -- Anchor member definition SELECT A.ParentId,A.id, A.name,A.SubscriberId FROM Subscriber.Budget.SubscriberCategory AS A WHERE ParentId IS NULL UNION ALL -- Recursive member definition SELECT B.ParentId, B.id, B.name,B.SubscriberId FROM Subscriber.Budget.SubscriberCategory AS B INNER JOIN Parent AS P ON B.ParentId = P.Id ) -- Statement that executes the CTE SELECT parentId, id, name FROM Parent where subscriberID = '1C18093B-5031-42E4-9251-CEF69114365F' GO

  • .NET Results Class

    - by pm_2
I have a C# function that does some processing and needs to return figures about what it has processed, success, failure, etc. Can anyone tell me if there are any standard framework classes that will handle this (for example, number of records processed, number successful, failed, etc) ? Alternatively, can anyone say how they usually handle this? Is the best way to create a class, or to use out parameters?

  • php $_SESSION[document_root] too far down the tree

    - by Idealflip
Hi, I have multiple sub-domains within the document_root. And multiple folders/classes within those sub-domain folders. I need something that will help me with my include_once paths, but $_SESSION[DOCUMENT_ROOT] goes too far down. And if I were to use this, and transfer the website folder later, all my include_once paths will/might break. Hope my question is clear... Any recommendations?

  • Why do I have to pay for something that I'm not using?

    - by Knowing me knowing you
Guys just finished reading one of my college books about threads in Java and I was informed that lock - what ever it is, is in Object class. So it looks like even though I'm not using threaded classes my objects will be heavier because of that? Don't you think that it's a bit annoying and unfair to expect from anyone to pay for something s/he have not intention of using? Thanks

  • SQL: How to use a column that was just added

    - by sbenderli
I am trying to add 2 columns and then I would like to set some values to them but I get a compile-error saying the column does not exist. I am using the following script: IF NOT EXISTS (select column_name from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.columns where table_name = 'SYSTM_FRM' and column_name = 'SF_Ip_TXT') ALTER TABLE SYSTM_FRM add SF_Ip_TXT NVARCHAR(20) IF NOT EXISTS (select column_name from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.columns where table_name = 'SYSTM_FRM' and column_name = 'SF_Port_NUM') ALTER TABLE SYSTM_FRM add SF_Port_NUM int Update dbo.SYSTM_FRM SET dbo.SYSTM_FRM.SF_Ip_TXT = dbo.FRM.FRM_Ip_TXT, dbo.SYSTM_FRM.SF_Port_NUM = dbo.FRM.FRM_Port_NUM FROM dbo.FRM INNER JOIN dbo.SYSTM_FRM ON dbo.FRM.FRM_RCRD_NUM = dbo.SYSTM_FRM.SF_FrameRecord_NUM Is there any way to use a column that I am adding in the same script?

  • Is it a good or bad practice to call instance methods from a java constructor?

    - by Steve
There are several different ways I can initialize complex objects (with injected dependencies and required set-up of injected members), are all seem reasonable, but have various advantages and disadvantages. I'll give a concrete example: final class MyClass { private final Dependency dependency; @Inject public MyClass(Dependency dependency) { this.dependency = dependency; dependency.addHandler(new Handler() { @Override void handle(int foo) { MyClass.this.doSomething(foo); } }); doSomething(0); } private void doSomething(int foo) { dependency.doSomethingElse(foo+1); } } As you can see, the constructor does 3 things, including calling an instance method. I've been told that calling instance methods from a constructor is unsafe because it circumvents the compiler's checks for uninitialized members. I.e. I could have called doSomething(0) before setting this.dependency, which would have compiled but not worked. What is the best way to refactor this? Make doSomething static and pass in the dependency explicitly? In my actual case I have three instance methods and three member fields that all depend on one another, so this seems like a lot of extra boilerplate to make all three of these static. Move the addHandler and doSomething into an @Inject public void init() method. While use with Guice will be transparent, it requires any manual construction to be sure to call init() or else the object won't be fully-functional if someone forgets. Also, this exposes more of the API, both of which seem like bad ideas. Wrap a nested class to keep the dependency to make sure it behaves properly without exposing additional API:class DependencyManager { private final Dependency dependency; public DependecyManager(Dependency dependency) { ... } public doSomething(int foo) { ... } } @Inject public MyClass(Dependency dependency) { DependencyManager manager = new DependencyManager(dependency); manager.doSomething(0); } This pulls instance methods out of all constructors, but generates an extra layer of classes, and when I already had inner and anonymous classes (e.g. that handler) it can become confusing - when I tried this I was told to move the DependencyManager to a separate file, which is also distasteful because it's now multiple files to do a single thing. So what is the preferred way to deal with this sort of situation?

  • Sharepoint lockout

    - by user301751
Recently a guy from our 3rd line team thought it would be funny to delete my account from AD. This has now been re-added. Everything is back to normal apart from my Access to Sharepoint sites. I am getting "The file exists. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070050)" Error on all sites. After some googleing I came across a guy with the same issue and it was an issue with the SID being different from my old account. Since this I deleted my account from Site Administrators and re-added. This would refresh the SID with the new one. I also check on the Content database that the site ID matched using the following transactions and the SIDs match. select s.Id, w.FullUrl from Sites s inner join Webs w on s.RootWebId = w.Id select * from UserInfo where tp_Login='domain\username' and tp_SiteID='' I am now a bit clueless.

  • When should I implement IDisposeable?

    - by Bobby
What is the best practice for when to implement IDisposeable? Is the best rule of thumb to implement it if you have one managed object in the class, or does it depend if the object was created in the class or just passed in? Should I also do it for classes with no managed objects at all?
