  A possible reason because a NullPointerException is a runtime exception is because every method can throw it, so every method would need to have a "throws NullPointerException", and would be ugly. But this happens with RemoteException. And a possible reason because RemoteException is not a runtime exception, is to tell it client to treat the exception. But every method in a remote environment need throws it, so there is no difference of throwing NullPointerException. Speculations? Was I clear?

I need it to be stored in the application storage so we can reference the content once downloaded. Is this going to be possible using Java, or ActiveX, or some other strategy that I haven't looked at yet?   I'm inserting new rows into a SQLite table, but I don't want to insert duplicate rows. I also don't want to specify every column in the database if possible. I don't even know if this is possible. I should be able to take my values and create a new row with them, but if they duplicate another row they should either overwrite the existing row or do nothing.

  Does anyone have a good solution for integrating some C# code into a java application? The code is small, so I could re-write in java, but I would rather reuse the code if possible. Don't repeat yourself, etc. Also, I know I can expose the C# as a web service or whatever, but it has some security/encryption stuff in there, so I would rather keep it tightly integrated if possible. Edit: It's going to be on a server-based app, so "downloading" another runtime is irrelevant.
