  • Linq: comparison with nonexisting value should not cause the exception, but it does

    - by Seacat
    Hello, Given I don't know if the parameter will be null or not and I want to use it in the following way: if Param != null then compare with its id if Param == null then compare with null. Something like that: var c = from cat in context.Categories where ParamCat != null && cat.ParentId == ParamCat.Id || ParamCat == null && cat.ParentId == null select c; If ParamCat is null as soon as I try to get something from c (for example c.Count()) it throws the exception. Usually when we use some kind of condition it stop comparison as soon as condition fail especially if we use AND. For example this code will not cause any exception: if (ParamCat != null && cat.ParentId == RaramCat.Id) { } If so, why the linq code above throw exception? (Null reference) Thanks

  • Unit-testing a directive with isolated scope and bidirectional value

    - by unludo
    I want to unit test a directive which looks like this: angular.module('myApp', []) .directive('myTest', function () { return { restrict: 'E', scope: { message: '='}, replace: true, template: '<div ng-if="message"><p>{{message}}</p></div>', link: function (scope, element, attrs) { } }; }); Here is my failing test: describe('myTest directive:', function () { var scope, compile, validHTML; validHTML = '<my-test message="message"></my-test>'; beforeEach(module('myApp')); beforeEach(inject(function($compile, $rootScope){ scope = $rootScope.$new(); compile = $compile; })); function create() { var elem, compiledElem; elem = angular.element(validHTML); compiledElem = compile(elem)(scope); scope.$digest(); return compiledElem; } it('should have a scope on root element', function () { scope.message = 'not empty'; var el = create(); console.log(el.text()); expect(el.text()).toBeDefined(); expect(el.text()).not.toBe(''); }); }); Can you spot why it's failing? The corresponding jsFiddle Thanks :)

  • Retrieve rows where a value exists within a comma separated list

    - by Klaaz
    I like to reverse this query: SELECT * FROM table WHERE status IN ( option,option1,option2 ); in a query like SELECT * FROM table WHERE status contains ( 'option' ); Where field 'status' column contains (by example): 'option,option1'. When I use SELECT * FROM table WHERE status LIKE '%option%' ); It also selects the rows with a 'status' column that only contains 'option1' Is this possible? example data: id,name,status 1,'test1','option,option1' 2,'test2','option,option2' 3,'test3','option2' 4,'test4','option2,option3' 5,'test5','option' SELECT * FROM table WHERE status contains ( 'option' ); This query should select select record 1,2 and 5. 'status' field type is varchar. The problem is that the status fields contains data that is almost alike, exept from the added number to option. Off course this is a made up example but the real thing has this kind of parameters

  • Status corresponding to Minimum value

    - by Lijo
    Hi Team, I am using SQL Server 2005. I have a table as given below. There can be multiple cancellations for each FundingID. I want to select the FundingCancellationReason corrersponding to minimum date for each funding. I wrote a query as follows. It is an SQL error 1) Could you please help me to avoid the SQL Error? 2) Is there any better logic to achieve the same? CREATE TABLE #FundingCancellation( [FundingCancellationID] INT IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [FundingID] INT , FundingCancellationDt SMALLDATETIME , FundingCancellationReason VARCHAR(50) ) SELECT FundingID, MIN(FundingCancellationDt), ( SELECT FundingCancellationReason FROM #FundingCancellation FC2 WHERE FC1.FundingID = FC2.FundingID AND FC2.FundingCancellationDt = MIN(FundingCancellationDt) ) [Reason Corresponding Minimum Date] FROM #FundingCancellation FC1 GROUP BY FundingID -- An aggregate may not appear in the WHERE clause unless it is in a subquery contained in a HAVING clause or a select list, and the column being aggregated is an outer reference. I have seen the similar approach working in a somewhat complex query. So I believe tehre will be a way to correct my query Thanks Lijo

  • Change UIView alpha value

    - by Ask
    I'm trying to create an UIView and change its alpha property to simulate backlight change. Here is my code if (TransparentView == nil) { TransparentView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.bounds]; TransparentView.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; self.view = TransparentView; } start=start+appDelegate.OnOffTime; TransparentView.alpha = 0.2; float step = 1.0 / ( appDelegate.OnOffTime * 100); for (float f = 0; f < 1; f=f+step) { TransparentView.alpha = (CGFloat)(1 - f); [NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:0.01]; } Both TransparentView.alpha = 0.2 and TransparentView.alpha = (CGFloat)(1 - f) do change TransparentView.alpha, but only TransparentView.alpha = 0.2 changes real device "brightness'.   • PHP Sort Array By SubArray Value

    - by Sjwdavies
    I've got the following structue of array: Array ( [0] => Array ( [configuration_id] => 10 [id] => 1 [optionNumber] => 3 [optionActive] => 1 [lastUpdated] => 2010-03-17 15:44:12 ) [1] => Array ( [configuration_id] => 9 [id] => 1 [optionNumber] => 2 [optionActive] => 1 [lastUpdated] => 2010-03-17 15:44:12 ) [2] => Array ( [configuration_id] => 8 [id] => 1 [optionNumber] => 1 [optionActive] => 1 [lastUpdated] => 2010-03-17 15:44:12 ) ) What's the best way for order the array, in an incremental way based on the optionNumber? So the results look like: Array ( [0] => Array ( [configuration_id] => 8 [id] => 1 [optionNumber] => 1 [optionActive] => 1 [lastUpdated] => 2010-03-17 15:44:12 ) [1] => Array ( [configuration_id] => 9 [id] => 1 [optionNumber] => 2 [optionActive] => 1 [lastUpdated] => 2010-03-17 15:44:12 ) [2] => Array ( [configuration_id] => 10 [id] => 1 [optionNumber] => 3 [optionActive] => 1 [lastUpdated] => 2010-03-17 15:44:12 ) )

  • Pass value to an include file in php.

    - by Muhammad Sajid
    Hi, How do you pass a parameter into an include file? I tried the following but it doesn't work. include "myfile.php?var=123"; and in myfile.php, I try to retrieve the parameter using $_GET["var"]. include "myfile.php?var=123"; will not work. PHP searches for a file with this exact name and does not parse the parameter for that I also did this: include "http://MyGreatSite.com/myfile.php?var=123";but it does not also work. Any hints? Thanks.

  • Searching and comparing ActiveRecord attributes to find largest value

    - by NS
    I have a model that would look something like: my_diet = Diet.new my_diet.food_type_1 = "beef" my_diet.food_type_1_percentage = 40 my_diet.food_type_2 = "carrots" my_diet.food_type_2_percentage = 50 my_diet.food_type_3 = "beans" my_diet.food_type_3_percentage = 5 my_diet.food_type_4 = "chicken" my_diet.food_type_4_percentage = 5 I need to find which food_type has the highest percentage. So far I've tried creating a hash out of the attibutes and percentages then sorting the hash (see below) but it feels like there must be a cleaner way to do it. food_type_percentages = { :food_type_1 => my_diet.foo_type_percentage_1_percentage.nil? ? 0 : my_dient.food_type_1_percentage, :food_type_2 => my_diet.foo_type_percentage_2_percentage.nil? ? 0 : my_dient.food_type_2_percentage, :food_type_3 => my_diet.foo_type_percentage_3_percentage.nil? ? 0 : my_dient.food_type_3_percentage, :food_type_4 => my_diet.foo_type_percentage_4_percentage.nil? ? 0 : my_dient.food_type_4_percentage } food_type_percentages.sort {|a,b| a[1]<=>b[1]}.last Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Remove a single non-unique value from a sequence in F#

    - by mavnn
    I have a sequence of integers representing dice in F#. In the game in question, the player has a pool of dice and can choose to play one (governed by certain rules) and keep the rest. If, for example, a player rolls a 6, 6 and a 4 and decides to play one the sixes, is there a simple way to return a sequence with only one 6 removed? Seq.filter (fun x -> x != 6) dice removes all of the sixes, not just one.

  • using key/value collection in session

    - by jumpdart
    Question: What is a good datatype to keep in session for a large collection of keys and values to frequently reference and update? Application: Updating an old .NET web app with a million pages and grids to have all the grids maintain their sort. They currently access helper code to format themselves graphically on load and on sort. I figured I could add to that code to check for a key based on the page and grid id in a collection in session to see if it has a previous expression on load. and the on sort update/add its appropriate item in the collection. Thoughts? Dictionary vs NameValueCollection

  • Warning produced by f#: value has been copied to ensure the original is not mutated

    - by user1878761
    The first definition below produces the warning in the title when compiled with f# 3.0 and the warning level set to 5. The second definition compiles cleanly. I wondered if someone could please explain just what the compiler worries I might accidentally mutate, or how would splitting the expression with a let clause help avoid that. Many thanks. let ticks_with_warning () : int64 = System.DateTime.Now.Ticks let ticks_clean () : int64 = let t = System.DateTime.Now t.Ticks

  • global variables doesn't change value in Javascript

    - by user1856906
    My project is composed by 2 html pages: 1)index.html, wich contains the login and the registration form. 2)user_logged.html, wich contains all the features of a logged user. Now, what I want to do is a control if the user is really logged, to avoid the case where a user paste a url in the browser and can see the pages of another user. hours as now, if a user paste this url in the browser: www.user_loggato.html?user=x#profile is as if logged in as user x and this is not nice. My html pages both use js files that contains scripts. I decided to create a global variable called logged inizialized to false and change the variable to true when the login is succesfull. The problem is that the variable, remains false. here is the code: var logged=false; (write in the file a.js) while in the file b.js I have: function login() { //if succesfull logged=true; window.location.href = "user_loggato.html?user="+ JSON.parse(str).username + #profilo"; Now with some alerts I found that my variable logged is always false. Why? if I have not explained well or if there is not some information in order to respond to my question let me know.

  • Listening to PHP function calls to intercept the returned value

    - by Lansen Q
    I am working on making use of a Web Services API offered by the hosts of our internal system. I am accessing it via PHP with the built-in SOAP offering. The API session is initiated by a remote call to a function that returns some session tokens; every call to any function thereafter will return a new session token, which must accompany the next request. I have an API Client class that is doing the bulk of the work; what I would like to do is to set something up whereby any SOAP call that is made will make sure to update the API Client class' $session variable with the new session details, and then pass the data along. So far the only way I can think of doing this is creating a new class extending the SoapClient class, with a __call function wrapper to execute the function, update the new session token, and return the results nonetheless. I'm not sure that this will a) work b) be the best way to go about this. The wrapper class would be identical to making a SOAP call, and it would return an identical result, just it would update the session token before you get your result back. Thanks! Hope I explained myself properly.
