I know I can do this if I call a script to check, but I am curious if I can do this with just the cron.
I need to run a job once/year on the first Saturday of July
If that Saturday is July 4th, run it July 5th.
On boot I get this error:
[FAILED] Failed to start Wait for Plymouth Boot Screen to Quit.
When I check what systemctl status plymouth-quit-wait.service says I get:
[root@zanak thomasfedb]# systemctl status plymouth-quit-wait.service

But I configured everything!!!
HELP!!!!
Currently my outlook is sorting by follow up first, then by date, but when I have followed up (clicked the flag to become a check mark) it stays above new unread mail. Can I have mail that's followed up on not sort above new mail while retaining the flagged for follow ups at the very top?
Hi,
I have one server with ESX 4 U1 installed through downloaded dvd from Vmware site. How do I know what patches I need to install?
When I check the Patch Repository, i see that the release date for the update is Dec.9,2009.
Does it mean that I don't need any patches before that date?
Should I install all the patches after the release date?
Thanks,
Haim Beyhan
Windows 7 64 bit.
The only recent change was I installed two updates for MS Office, and a cumulative security update for IE.
As soon as I choose a user and login, after loading my user profile it states the preparing your desktop message, and then powers off.
I have used DaRT to check the event log, but nothing is recorded.
Ideas?
I use a terminal with white text on black background (I just like it better), so I wrote the following line in my .vimrc file:
set background=dark
However, gvim has black on white text. How do I do either of the following:
Set the background of gvim to black
Check in .vimrc if I'm using gvim
I tried this: I started up gvim, and typed echo &term. The answer was "builtin_gui". So I wrote the following into .vimrc:
if &term == "builtin_gui"
set background=light
else
set background=dark
endif
Somehow, it didn't work.
What causes this error?
Error: Multilib version problems found. This often means that the root
cause is something else and multilib version checking is just
pointing out that there is a problem. Eg.:
1. You have an upgrade for glibc which is missing some
dependency that another package requires. Yum is trying to
solve this by installing an older version of glibc of the
different architecture. If you exclude the bad architecture
yum will tell you what the root cause is (which package
requires what). You can try redoing the upgrade with
--exclude glibc.otherarch ... this should give you an error
message showing the root cause of the problem.
2. You have multiple architectures of glibc installed, but
yum can only see an upgrade for one of those arcitectures.
If you don't want/need both architectures anymore then you
can remove the one with the missing update and everything
will work.
3. You have duplicate versions of glibc installed already.
You can use "yum check" to get yum show these errors.
...you can also use --setopt=protected_multilib=false to remove
this checking, however this is almost never the correct thing to
do as something else is very likely to go wrong (often causing
much more problems).

I have SpiceWorks 4.7, installed and added the sql monitor extension to monitor our SQL servers. It does identify our sql servers correctly, but when I put the login information in it can't authenticate, with the following error message.
Authentication failed. Check the login and password, and ensure that the server is configured for remote connections.
I get the same result trying to use windows authentication.
WE do use an alternate port# could this be the problem?
I used to wonder why deleting directories via PHP or shell wasn't as easy as it was in Windows with just clicking delete. I realize now that deleting is simply unlinking files from the file allocation table, so to delete a directory, you must unlink all the files inside it.
Is it ever possible for the directory's entry to be removed, but not those of the files inside it? Do operating systems periodically check for files that can't be reached in the file system?
Getting error:
Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
Restarted the service, server, and all the computers in between. I suspect it's not connecting to the domain server - any way to check about this?
We are using a Netgear VPN Firewall Router FVS318v3.. We have a DSL connection here at the office, and my users complain of the connection dropping, or locking up on their end.. Latest firmware is installed, rebooting the router doesn't help, no other internet connectivity issues reported anywhere else (ie., no other internet connection problems here, or at their end, except when connecting to the VPN..)
Is there anything else I can check to pinpoint this problem? TIA!!!
I'm trying to force caching of a very obnoxious piece of PHP script which actively tries to resist caching for no good reason by actively setting all the anti-cache headers:
Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0
Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Date: Thu, 22 May 2014 08:43:53 GMT
Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT
Last-Modified:
Pragma: no-cache
Set-Cookie: ECSESSID=...; path=/
Vary: User-Agent,Accept-Encoding
Server: Apache/2.4.6 (Ubuntu)
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.5.3-1ubuntu2.3
If at all avoidable I do not want to have to modify this 3rd party piece of code at all and instead just get Apache to cache the page for a while. I'm doing this very selectively to only very specific pages which have no real impact on session cookies or the like, i.e. which do not contain any personalised information.
CacheDefaultExpire 600
CacheMinExpire 600
CacheMaxExpire 1800
CacheHeader On
CacheDetailHeader On
CacheIgnoreHeaders Set-Cookie
CacheIgnoreCacheControl On
CacheIgnoreNoLastMod On
CacheStoreExpired On
CacheStoreNoStore On
CacheLock On
CacheEnable disk /the/script.php
Apache is caching the page alright:
[cache:debug] AH00698: cache: Key for entity /the/script.php?(null) is http://example.com:80/the/script.php?
[cache_disk:debug] AH00709: Recalled cached URL info header http://example.com:80/the/script.php?
[cache_disk:debug] AH00720: Recalled headers for URL http://example.com:80/the/script.php?
[cache:debug] AH00695: Cached response for /the/script.php isn't fresh. Adding conditional request headers.
[cache:debug] AH00750: Adding CACHE_SAVE filter for /the/script.php
[cache:debug] AH00751: Adding CACHE_REMOVE_URL filter for /the/script.php
[cache:debug] AH00769: cache: Caching url: /the/script.php
[cache:debug] AH00770: cache: Removing CACHE_REMOVE_URL filter.
[cache_disk:debug] AH00737: commit_entity: Headers and body for URL http://example.com:80/the/script.php? cached.
However, it is always insisting that the "cached response isn't fresh" and is never serving the cached version. I guess this has to do with the Expires header, which marks the document as expired (but I don't know whether that's the correct assumption). I've tried to overwrite and unset headers using mod_headers, but this doesn't help; whatever combination I try the cache is not impressed at all. I'm guessing that the order of operation is wrong, and headers are being rewritten after the cache sees them. early header processing doesn't help either. I've experimented with CacheQuickHandler Off and trying to set explicit filter chains, but nothing is helping. But I'm really mostly poking in the dark, as I do not have a lot of experience with configuring Apache filter chains.
Is there a straight forward solution for how to cache this obnoxious piece of code?
Hi All,
I'm installing oracle oci8 on a linux server here and I am having an issue where php_oci8.so does not seem to be able to find the libclntsh.so.11.1. I've got the instant client installed and it shows up fine in ldconfig -p , but when I do ldd on the php_oci8.so it shows up as not found. Does anyone have any ideas as for what I can check ?
The title pretty much says everything: I'm using server-side filtering so I need Thunderbird to watch all folders for new messages using IDLE.
I've already tried enabling "When getting new messages for this account, always check this folder" but after restarting TB I did not have an IMAP IDLE connection open for every folder.
I've also tried setting mail.check_all_imap_folders_for_new (which did not exist before) and mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new to true - nothing changed.
Imagine you work in Office 2007 or 2010, you create a far-fetched presentation and save it as 'ppt'. Office 2007/2010 warns you that some effects will be lost, but you save it.
Question: If you open that ppt file in the office version you're working with(2007/2010) will it run like on '97 or '03 with the lack of effects, no other problems?
I'm asking so I know whether I have to install an older office so I can check compatibility.I use 2010.
Thanks in advance
I'm deploying a simple ASP.NET application on IIS 7.5 and I'd like to know what changes I should make or configurations I should check to protect my server.
Will the default settings be secure enough? I'm very much a beginner when it comes to server management so any tips will be very helpful.
I followed Windows instructions, and turned on several parts of IIS. But http://localhost isn't working, and I don't see the IIS entry in Administrative Tools either.
I only want to use SSI, not ASP(.net) or FTP. What should I check and why isn't it working? It didn't ask me to restart Windows, is that required?
I didn't do anything stupid like run random .exe or visit questionable websites, but as I was just Googling I get infected by Antimalware Doctor.
At that point I just shutdown my computer and reformatted, so I didn't check if I had the latest version of Flash or Firefox.
Is it possible to get infected just because I didn't have my Flash newer than 10.1 and some random flash ad infected me?
There doesn't seem to be any information on how Antimalware Doctor works asides from how to remove it.
Hello,
I'm getting the following error every time I try to create a folder: http://flx.me/imgdump/flx457.png
When I press try again it actually does create it. So far I did a complete disk check of C:\ and I've tried safe mode. Both result in the same error.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dennis
I've got a tomcat webapp that uses a fingerprint reader. It works fine under Windows XP and Windows 7 if you double click on tomcat.exe. It doesn't work on Windows 7 if you run tomcat as a service.
I imagine that when run as a service the process doesn't have the required permissions to talk to the device. I've tried running it as an administrator and verified that it's doing so with Process Explorer.
What else should I check?
I am running some php installation script from a browser and it's been running for a quite long time. Is there a way to check if it is still running on a server or timed out already? The browser is still showing loading spinner, but it is not a reliable progress indicator I suppose.
(Apache webserver under Linux)
The passwords cached for Network shares on other computers and applications like MSN Live, MS Outlook, Sharepoint portal, Outlook Webmail, etc are lost when I reboot my computer, which runs on Vista.
I always check the Remember password checkbox in applications/login dialogs where ever prompted.
I cannot imagine of a third party program that may clean up this on system restart/shutdown.
Any idea, as to what is going wrong?
I just purchased a domain from godaddy. However, I did not buy email from them.
Is there a way to add email to my domain? for example [email protected]?
I was going through this googe apps link but I still don't understand how I can create email account for my domain...or check email...?
My home page in Firefox [v4.0] and Internet Explorer [v9.0.8112.16421, Update Versions RTM (KB982861)] is currently set to Google but when I depress the quick start icon to start up either browser, I am getting the following immediate results:

Thankfully, I am able to use one browser that I have installed on my computer (Mathon v3.0.20.5000) to search online for technical assistance in this matter. I have seen several WinSock error issues mentioned; but, they are pointing to Windows XP and I am using Windows 7 Pro and remain uncertain whether anything identified as a fix for one OS will work in another.
