  • Most reliable method for uploading files in PHP w/ progress bar

    - by vanneto
Hello everyone, I am interested in finding the most reliable method for uploading files in PHP. I need a progress bar with the upload. I have tried SWFUpload but it randomly issues an I/O Error. Even if the same file is uploaded sometimes there is an error and sometimes there is not. I have configured all the necessary INI/Mysql/Apache directives to accept large file uploads. So, I am looking for alternatives as a Flash based solution has not worked. Would Java be more relirable? I have also looked into PHP with APC. I definitely cannot afford these random errors, so any help on reliable software / suggestions on how to minimize them would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Populate javascript array with PHP array of Variables

    - by user1704514
    The following code is used to populate a pie chart in javascript: <script type="text/javascript"> var agg = { label: 'Aggressive', pct: [60, 10, 6, 30, 14, 10] }, bal = { label: 'Balanced', pct: [24, 7, 2, 18, 13, 36] }, mod = { label: 'Moderate', pct: [12, 4, 2, 10, 11, 61] }, inc = { label: 'Income', pct: [ 0, 0, 0, 0, 0,100] }, </script> Instead of tm: [40, 60, 67, 30, 74, 50] as seen above, I would like to make each of 6 values a php variable. Like: tm: [$r1, $r2, $r3, $r4, $r5, $r6] . How do I do this? How do I do this with? A php array or json encode?

  • Using PHP's $_COOKIE to create cookie.txt for cURL

    - by boogie
Hi, I'm running Drupal and Mediawiki on my server under the same domain. They are connected to each other with extensions/modules. Meaning if I log in to Mediawiki, it automatically logs into Drupal also. Mediawiki has some extensions that filter the information shown on the page. What I want to do is to show that filtered information from Mediawiki on my Drupal page. I'm trying to fetch the data with PHP cURL, but I'm not able to force it to use the login information. How can I convert PHP's $_COOKIE into cURL cookie.txt format? I suppose after that I'm able to fetch the data from Mediawiki with the right permissions. This is what print_r($_COOKIE) outputs: [wiki_session] = gg05lhd6pcfs5g6iokhoo0gue7 [wikiUserName] = WikiSysop [wikiLoggedOut] = 20100510110913 [wikiUserID] = 1 [wikiToken] = 52cdb19a7b4a43e5a2f86939e4f54941 Thanks for any help!

  • PHP exec error, possibly MAMP using ghostscript

    - by user1762526
I have been trying to use ghostscript in PHP to convert pdf files to images (png, jpg). I don't really care as long as they are images. This is the code that I used. exec("gs -sDEVICE=jpeg -sOutputFile=/Applications/Mamp/htdocs/cover.jpg -r144 /Applications/Mamp/htdocs/test.pdf"); When I enter the exact same thing, without the exec and quotes obviously, into the command line it does exactly what I want. However, when I run the php file nothing happens. I am using a MAMP server and the server seems to work fine, whenever I run another file with it I have no issues. Anyone have any ideas why it might not execute right?

  • All PHP files getting hacked

    - by nsearle
Hey All, Like always, just want to say thank you for all of the help and input in advance. I have a particular site that I am the web developer for and am running into a unique problem. It seems that somehow something is getting into every single PHP file on my site and adding some malware code. I have deleted the code from every page multiple times and changed FTP and DB passwords, but to no avail. The code that is added looks like this - eval(base64_decode(string)) - which the string is 3024 characters. Not sure if anyone else has ran into this problem or if any one has ideas on how I can secure my php code up. Thanks again.

  • Please help me understand this PHP script.Noob here

    - by NissGTR
    I'm learning PHP,MySQL and came across this function today function get_director($director_id) { global $db; $query = 'SELECT people_fullname FROM people WHERE people_id = ' . $director_id; $result = mysql_query($query, $db) or die(mysql_error($db)); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); extract($row); return $people_fullname; } I understand what functions are and I've created a few while learning PHP.But this one is a bit more complicated.I can't understand the WHERE people_id = ' . $director_id I'm new to MySQL.I guess the single quote ends the MySQL statement?And then it is concatenated with the argument? Please help me out.

I am trying to find out how can I used PHP interfaces in my MVC design. I want to make sure that the design enforces an interface so that any new module would follow that. For example: <?php interface BaseAPI { public function postMessage($msg); } class ServiceAPI implements BaseAPI { public function postMessage($msg) { return $msg; } } class Service_Two_API implements BaseAPI { public function postMessage($msg) { return "can't do this: ".$msg; } } ?> I want to do this in CI. • Help with PHP and associative arrays

    - by errata
    Hello. I have to do a simple calculator in php based on user's input and choice from select field, something like this: <?php $a = $_GET['a']; $b = $_GET['b']; $array = array( "option1" => 0.1, "option2" => 0.15, "option3" => 0.3, "option4" => 3, "option5" => 3, "option6" => 16, "option7" => 16, "option8" => 16 ); echo "<form action='calc.php' method='get'>"; echo "<input type='text' name='a' value='".$a."'> of "; echo "<select name='b'>"; foreach ($array as $k => $v) { echo "<option value='".$v."'>".$k."</option>"; } echo "</select> "; echo "<input type='submit' value='='> "; $total_volume = $a * $b; echo $total_volume; echo "</form>"; ?> Well, for now everything works fine, but the idea is that after user submits form, the page reloads with sent amount in input field and selected option which user actually selected... First thing is easy: I just put value="a" in my input field, but I'm not sure how to make a selected option in <select> field??? I started with this: foreach ($array as $k => $v) { echo "<option value='".$v."'"; if ($b == $v) { echo " selected "; } echo ">".$k."</option>"; } ...but this is obviously not working as expected... Please help me with this easy one :) Thanks!

When its finished I need to increase that number ($_GET['id']) and redirect to the same page but with the new number (also using $_GET['id']). I am doing something like this: $ID = $_GET['id']; // Some stuff here // and then: $newID = $ID++; header('Location: http://localhost/something/something.php?id='.$newID); exit; The problem here is that the browser stop me from doing it and I get this error from the browser (Firefox) : "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." Some help here please!

  • Force freeing memory in PHP

    - by DBa
Hi everybody, in a PHP program, I sequentially read a bunch of files (with file_get_contents), gzdecode them, json_decode the result, analyze the contents, throw the most of it away, and store about 1% in an array. Unfortunately, with each iteration (I traverse over an array containing the filenames), there seems to be some memory lost (according to memory_get_peak_usage, about 2-10 MB each time). I have double- and triplechecked my code, I am not storing unneded data in the loop (and the needed data hardly exceeds about 10MB overall), but I am frequently rewriting (actually, strings in an array). Apparently, PHP does not free the memory correctly, thus using more and more RAM until it hits the limit. Is there any way to do a forced garbage collection? Or, at least, to find out where the memory is used? Thanks in advance, Dmitri
