  • Strongly typed `enum`s in VS10?

    - by Motti
This question pointed to a wiki page for C++0x support which lists Strongly typed enums as Partially supported in VS10. However this creates a compilation error: enum class boolean { no, yes, maybe }; Any idea what constitutes partial support when the basic syntax isn't accepted?

  • Jave JIT compiler compiles at compile time or runtime ?

    - by Tony
From wiki: In computing, just-in-time compilation (JIT), also known as dynamic translation, is a technique for improving the runtime performance of a computer program. So I guess JVM has another compiler, not javac, that only compiles bytecode to machine code at runtime, while javac compiles sources to bytecode,is that right?

  • How to setup Mercurial and hgwebdir on IIS?

    - by Kevin Berridge
I've been looking all over for decent instructions on how to get hgwebdir working on IIS but I haven't found much of worth. There's this "step by step" on the Mercurial wiki, but it's not very good. There's also this and this, but again, I can't find good steps to lead up to where those get started.

  • Make MediaWiki use accounts on my site?

    - by acidzombie24
I have a site in ASP.NET and i thought it would be cool if i can redirect users to wiki.mysite.com. Now i would like to know if i can easily make MediaWiki recognize users logged into my site. I dont want any anonymous posters. Is there a way to hook or have mediawiki use accounts/cookies from my site instead of using its own database/account system?

  • Determine the relative compliment of two IEnumerable<T> sets in .net

    - by SFun28
Hi! Is there an easy way to get the relative compliment of two sets? Perhaps using LINQ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complement_(set_theory) I have to find the relative compliment of a set A relative to B. Both A and B are of type HashSet but I think the algorithm could be made more generation (IEnumerable or even ISet)? I could use a solution in either vb.net or C#.

    - by Patrick
Hi, I am using syntaxhighlighter (http://alexgorbatchev.com/wiki/SyntaxHighlighter) with a php source code with the ins and del tag. • GORM "getNextException" equivalent

    - by Josh K
GORM sits on top of [Hibernate](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibernate_(Java). The issue is that sometimes Hibernate will throw exceptions from the JDBC driver that I can't figure out how to investigate. Specifically: Could not execute JDBC batch update; /* snip */ Caused by: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: /* snip */ [insert] was aborted. Call getNextException to see the cause. If it makes any difference I'm using PostgreSQL.

  • When should I use MySQL compressed protocol?

    - by ento
I've learned that MySQL can compress communication between servers and clients. Compression is used if both client and server support zlib compression, and the client requests compression. (from MySQL Forge Wiki) The most obvious pros and cons are pros: Reduced payload size cons: Increased computation time So, is compressed protocol something I should enable whenever I can afford servers with adequate specs? Are there other factors I should consider?

  • Ship maritime AIS information API

    - by James Cadd
Is there an API or Web Service that can be used to read AIS data? Most links I read starting at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Identification_System) say that AIS data is freely available but I'm having a hard time finding a provider of the data. A C# example or language agnostic web service would be helpful.

    - by Peter Goras
I find one of the best features of Ninject is conventions-based binding. eg. Bind<IConfigurationSource>().To<RemoteConfigurationSource>() .Only(When.Context.Target.Name.BeginsWith("remote")); Bind<IConfigurationSource>().To<LocalConfigurationSource>() .Only(When.Context.Target.Name.BeginsWith("local")); http://ninject.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?title=Conventions-Based%20Binding&referringTitle=Home Is this possible in StructureMap 2.5.3? Thanks

  • Devise: Allow users to edit their account without providing a password BUT also use 'reconfirmable' functionality

    - by Betjamin Richards
I've been following this how-to in the Devise wiki... How To: Allow users to edit their account without providing a password ...to enable my users to change the account credential and update without providing their existing password. However, I also want to use the Confirmable modules reconfirmable functionality Even though I have config.reconfirmable = true set in my devise initializer file the controller doesn't seem to be sending the reconfirmable emails. Any ideas what's wrong?

  • Projects/Challenges for learning programming

    - by DMan
Not sure if this has been asked before, and I'm making this a wiki... Anyways, I'm sure you've heard of Project Euler. My question is if there are any other sites like this? You know, more challenges and things for programmers to hone their skills? I like Euler but it's strictly math-based, and I'd like to expand it a little to other topics.

  • Does Lua support Unicode?

    - by TimK
Based on the link below, I'm confused as to whether the Lua programming language supports Unicode. http://lua-users.org/wiki/LuaUnicode It appears it does but has limitations. I simply don't understand, are the limitation anything big/key or not a big deal?
