  Okay i get the following error message: to=<[email protected]>, ctladdr=<www-data@adam-linux> (33/33), delay=2+08:20:35, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=esmtp, pri=25590437, relay=adamziolkowski.com., dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection timed out with adamziolkowski.com. I'm guessing to make sendmail work. I have to change the default outgoing port number to 465 because comcast blocks port 25. Any ideas? What could be causing this error?

• First request too slow even if I have a load balancer in the back

  I have an Apache 2 on Centos + bind with a wordpress website on it (e.g example.com). I have also set up, on another server in a different contry a load balancer (varnish:80 + nginx 127.0.0.1:8080) for it - which task is to server all static content under /wp-content/. Using Simple DNS editor I added an A entry to cdn.example.com pointing to the server's IP. So no extra work from a 2nd dns server. Then using htaccess I redirect all requests to jpg|gif|css|js files to cdn.example.com. That works and all files are saved on the "cdn" server and served right away. My problem is that for the first time I enter on example.com (e.g after restarting the computer or closing the browser) the load time is 1 up to 3 seconds, while any subsequent page loads take only 300 to 600 miliseconds. I know it might be a DNS issue, but I have done a cache check on several websites and cdn.example.com indicates the right IP. Do you have any ideas where I should dig to solve this first-time slowness?

  I have this folder structure: /var/www/mysite/abc/ /var/www/mysite/def/ /var/www/mysite/fgh/ /var/www/mysite/ijk/ /var/www/mysite/portal/ /var/www/mysite/wyz/ Today's my server is redirecting all requests of www.mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com/portal and that's ok... But I want to modify this behavior and keep www.mydomain.com acessing the /var/www/mysite/portal/ folder on background while www.mydomain.com/abc/ still acessing the /var/www/mysite/abc/ folder as before.   I was just wondering if anyone knew how to/or knew of a good guide to setting up mac Time Machine backup server on a fedora 17 machine. I recently ran into an issue with my HDD and lost all of my data, so I don't want it to ever happen again, as it was quite traumatising, haha!   I am installing a script (that I bought on cpanel) in the root directory of my web site. When I try to install it, it gives me an error. I found that it starts an infinite URL redirect loop containing the name of my web site. Something like: install//mywebsite.com/install=mywebsite.com/install=mywebsite.com/install=mywebsite.com etc. until the browser refuses to continue when URL gets too long. The vendor told me I need to have mod_rewrite installed on my cpanel and something about .htaccess. How do I do fix this?

  I did send out an Outlook vote to hundreds of employees, using their email address (which is mostly firstname.lastname@company.com, but there are many exceptions). The incoming votes are not matched against the email address, but against the display name. Unfortunately, the display name has no real standard either. So instead of seeing this: John.Doe@abc.com Voted: Yes Mary.Doe@abc.com Voted: No I see this: John.Doe@abc.com Mary.Doe@abc.com Doe, Johnathan Philip Voted: Yes Doe - Peeters, Marian Voted: No In the actual list I see the addresses that I sent the vote to PLUS extra lines with the votes that came back. Is there a quick way to match my "send" list with the "received" list? One thing I thought of was to dump the global address book in a file and in Excel use =vlookup. But that seems a lot of work (and I am not even sure that I have the authorization to dump the address book).

• Should I have link rel=next & prev on URLs which have query variables?

  For example, I have link rel prev & next set up on these pages of products: site.com?page=2 site.com?page=3 (this is my preferred structure by the way and I'm trying to get all the ugly URLs which are littered with query variables deindexed as they are causing duplicate content). So the above URLs are fine but once a filter to narrow product results is selected, like "price", the URL shows like this: site.com?price[1000-1499]=on site.com?page=2&price[1000-1499]=on As of right now, I am having the link rel prev & next dynamically added to the header of these pages but since I am working on getting these query variable URLs pages deindexed, I am wondering if I should get rid of it on these pages? Any thoughts?

  Trying to install OpenVZ kernel on Centos 6.3, Yes my kernel is installed i can see it in the /boot folder, yes it is Rhel6 and yes it is all up to date, i checked this with yum update. My issue comes when i reboot my server with that kernel set as the default, it doesn't load, below i shall put a copy of my grub.conf file and my menu.lst file.   its been about a week i have changed my url from non www to www version it was done by my host provider .....now i want to ask how much time does google take to remove my sitename.com from indexing and replace it with www.sitename.com (site redirection has been already done by host provider )as it is still showing old ones my new urls are indexed but my main url www.sitename.com is not indexed...or so do i have to remove those old urls personally...its been already about 5-6 days?????

Documentation for List-Unsubscribe is found at http://www.list-unsubscribe.com/. From this documentation I expect a button to be provided by a supported mail client. I have tested the 'List-Unsubscribe' header and it does not appear to provide the button. I have tested in both Gmail and OS X Mail. I tested with an http address and with both an email address and an http address. The format of the header is as follows: List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:[email protected]>, <http://domain.com/member/unsubscribe/[email protected]?id=12345N> No button appears in any test. My questions: How widely is List-Unsubscribe supported? Should a button be appearing somewhere, or does something else have to be present? I have seen a comment that even if the button is not present, services like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail/Windows Live would give higher regard to email having the header. Thus it might be worthwhile for this aspect alone. Please note that our standard email footer already contacts instructions and a link to allow unsubscribing from our email. Finally, is it worth while to implement this header? (That is, any downsides?)
