• WCF/C# Unable to catch EndpointNotFoundException

  Hi all, I have created a WCF service and client and all works until it come to catching errors. Specifically I am try to catch the EndpointNotFoundException for when the server happens not to be there for whatever reason, I have tried performing a simple try catch block catching the specific error and the communication exception it derives from and I've tried catching just Exception. None of these succeed in catching the exception, however I do get A first chance exception of type 'System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException' occurred in System.ServiceModel.dll in the output window when the client tries to open the service. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

• Expose NativeActivity Variables to Workflow Designer

  I've got a NativeActivity which contains an Activity body. The purpose of this activity is to expose a resource for the duration of the child activity as a Variable. The problem I've encountered is it appears the Variable cannot be used outside the activity. I'll use StreamReader as an example resource.   I've been working on a little Silverlight utility which calls a Silverlight web service. It works from my dev machine (XPsp2). I've tried publishing it to a 2008 R2 IIS 7.5 server and it doesn't work when trying to contact the web service. So I've tried using the WcfTestClient to connect to the web service. That gave an error. So I turned off CustomErrors and used IE and I get the following. Any idea why? There's no App_Code folder in the app. Failed to map the path '/app42/App_Code/'. • Compiling scipy on Windows 32-bit: linker error with libf77blas.a

  Has anyone tried compiling SciPy 0.7.1 on Windows using numpy-1.3.0 that was built with the pre-built ATLAS libraries (atlas3.6.0_WinNT_P4SSE2.zip) linked in the installation document. • Problem deleting record using Entity Framework and System.Data.SQLite

  I have a SQLite DB that is set up so when I delete a Person the delete is cascaded. This works fine when I manually delete a Person (all records that reference the PersonID are deleted). But when I use Entity Framework to delete the Person I get an error: System.InvalidOperationException: The operation failed: The relationship could not be changed because one or more of the foreign-key properties is non-nullable. When a change is made to a relationship, the related foreign-key property is set to a null value. If the foreign-key does not support null values, a new relationship must be defined, the foreign-key property must be assigned another non-null value, or the unrelated object must be deleted. I don't understand why this is occurring. My trigger is set to clean up all related objects before deleting the object it was told to delete. When I go into the model editor and check the properties of the relationship it shows no action for the OnDelete property. Why isn't this set correctly by pulling it from the DB? Here's the relivent SQL for my tables.   Hi, On a webserver (shared hosting provider) I published a website with a ADO.Net Framework model in use with MySql Connector 6.3.1. When I request a page, a Security Exception will be happen with this error messages: "LinkDemand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer ". This exception raised when code collect the listeners of a tracksource: public class MySqlTrace { private static TraceSource source = new TraceSource("mysql"); static MySqlTrace() { foreach (TraceListener listener in source.Listeners) // <-- Exception throw here { // ... } } } The web.config doesn't have any trace data or system.diagnostics. My question is, why will a get a LinkDemand security exception during collecting the source listeners. What can maybe be wrong in here?

• Unable to debug XBAP with Visual Studio 2010

  Just migrated my project to Visual Studio 2010, but target framework was left 3.5. Project contains an XBAP app in partial trust and a bunch of WCF services. Debugging is configured to start PresentationHost.exe with -debug and -debugSecurityZoneUrl parameters. Under VS2008 everything works fine, and in VS2010 Beta2 (don't sure about RC), but under VS2010 RTM debugging is for some reason doesn't working. Application runs, but doesn't hit any breakpoint. And if for example exception occurs, message box appears "Do you wish to debug or close..." and after I choose "debug" option new weird message box appears: --------------------------- Warning --------------------------- A debugger is attached to PresentationHost.exe but not configured to debug this unhandled exception. To debug this exception, detach the current debugger. An unhandled exception was raised from Microsoft .NET Framework v 1.0, 1.1, or 2.0, but the current debugger is configured to debug Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 code. Examine the exception using the SOS tool. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- And where is the vaunted multitargeting? Did anyone have already bumped into same issue? UPDATE: Tried to debug with "Start browser with URL" option. Debugging is working, but I get SecurityException. So it is possible, just need to figure out how to make it work with "Start external program" option. • Making Ninject Interceptors work with async methods

  I am starting to work with ninject interceptors to wrap some of my async code with various behaviors and am having some trouble getting everything working. Here is an interceptor I am working with: public class MyInterceptor : IInterceptor { public async void Intercept(IInvocation invocation) { try { invocation.Proceed(); //check that method indeed returns Task await (Task) invocation.ReturnValue; RecordSuccess(); } catch (Exception) { RecordError(); invocation.ReturnValue = _defaultValue; throw; } } This appears to run properly in most normal cases. I am not sure if this will do what I expect. Although it appears to return control flow to the caller asynchronously, I am still a bit worried about the possibility that the proxy is unintentionally blocking a thread or something. That aside, I cannot get the exception handling working. For this test case: [Test] public void ExceptionThrown() { try { var interceptor = new MyInterceptor(DefaultValue); var invocation = new Mock<IInvocation>(); invocation.Setup(x => x.Proceed()).Throws<InvalidOperationException>(); interceptor.Intercept(invocation.Object); } catch (Exception e) { } } I can see in the interceptor that the catch block is hit, but the catch block in my test is never hit from the rethrow. I am more confused because there is no proxy or anything here, just pretty simple mocks and objects. I also tried something like Task.Run(() => interceptor.Intercept(invocation.Object)).Wait(); in my test, and still no change. The test passes happily, but the nUnit output does have the exception message. I imagine I am messing something up, and I don't quite understand what is going on as much as I think I do. Is there a better way to intercept an async method? What am I doing wrong with regards to exception handling?

I'm having this problem today: When creating a stand alone web application using IntraWeb, I get this exception in the IDE when I try to test out a session from my app in the browser: First chance exception at $7C812A6B. Exception class EOleSysError with message 'CoInitialize has not been called'. Process WebContactManager.exe (1112) If I click "continue" on the IDE exception dialog, the browser itself just shows: 200 OK ...rather than the controls on my main form. This error does not seem to occur when I replace ADO with other database components such as dbExpress or BDE. What is this error telling me, and how do I fix it? (Note I'm using the stock "VCL for the Web" IntraWeb components which come built-in with D2007). Thanks in advance for any and all help!

  I'm developing a JSF 2.0 application on Glassfish v3 and i'm trying to handle the ViewExpiredException. But whatever i do, i always get a Glassfish error report instead of my own error page. To simulate the occurrence of the VEE, i inserted the following function into my backing bean, which fires the VEE. I'm triggering this function from my JSF page through a commandLink.   I'm a bit puzzled about the conditional operator. Consider the following two lines: Float f1 = false? 1.0f: null; Float f2 = false? 1.0f: false? 1.0f: null; Why does f1 become null and the second statement throws a NullPointerException? Langspec-3.0 para 15.25 sais: Otherwise, the second and third operands are of types S1 and S2 respectively. Let T1 be the type that results from applying boxing conversion to S1, and let T2 be the type that results from applying boxing conversion to S2. The type of the conditional expression is the result of applying capture conversion (§5.1.10) to lub(T1, T2) (§15.12.2.7). So for false?1.0f:null T1 is Float and T2 is the null type. But what is the result of lub(T1,T2)? This para 15.12.2.7 is just a bit too much ... BTW, I'm using 1.6.0_18 on Windows. PS: I know that Float f2 = false? (Float) 1.0f: false? (Float) 1.0f: null; doesn't throw NPE.

  Hi, I've got problems starting my WAR application on a local JBoss.   I am often getting a Client Disconnected message. I don't use load balancing - only a single IIS server. I need to know what is causing this and how to fix it. • Get contact name from just the number

  Say i have an edit text and a button. In the edit text you would type a number and then when you hit the button it will either show the contact information or return with the name of that contact. I have tried all sorts of methods provided with no luck. The one i have successfully gotten the furthest with was the following... But i had no luck returning the name. • Java OutOfMemory error in filter

  I get a java.lang.outOfMemoryError exception, while writing a big file to the servletOutputStream. Every response is by default wrapped using a ehcache.constructs.web.filter Object for GZIP compression. And as per the logs, the exception is thrown in the Filter object. Is there a way to increase the available memory so, that the outOfMemoryError Exception does not occur ?
