• Firefox 3.6.3 on Snow Leopard 10.6.3 - symbolic link to command line binary doesn't work?

  I have Firefox 10.6.3 installed on Mac OS X Snow Leopard from the DMG. I can run firefox from the terminal using /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin. However, if I create a symbolic link: sudo ln -s /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin /bin/firefox then it refuses to run, or at least display. When I issue "firefox" from the terminal, I can see the process in top, but never get the GUI to appear. :/ = ls -lr /bin/firefox lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 52 May 5 15:19 /bin/firefox - /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin Any ideas? BTW, when the system starts, the crontab will run the script automatically. This works good but I want to add another more folder (obj) to ignore list, it fails.   I have Debian server with 32 gb memory. And there is apache2, memcached and nginx on this server. Memory load always on maximum. Only 500m free. Most memory leak do MySql. Apache only 70 clients configured, other services small memory usage. When mysql use all memory it stops. And nothing works, need mysql reboot. Mysql configured use maximum 24 gb memory. I have hight weight InnoDB bases. (400000 rows, 30 gb). And on server multithread daemon, that makes many inserts in this tables, thats why InnoDB. There is my mysql config. Is there a way to run gem install libv8 and to have it look at my updated g++ version?   I've been using Monit to monitor my Thin server and everything was working until I upgraded my Rails version from 2.3.4 to 2.3.14. Now when I try and start Thin using monit it gives me an unfound gem error: Missing the Rails 2.3.14 gem. • Virtualhost entries gets over-written when apache httpd.conf is rebuilt

  Background: We have been trying to get a wildcard SSL working on multiple sub domains on a single dedicated address.. We have two sub domains next.my-personal-website.com and blog.my-personal-website.com Part of our strategy has been to edit the httpd.conf and add the NameVirtualHost xx.xx.144.72:443 directive and the virtualhost entries for port 443 for the subdomains there. This works good if we just edit the httpd.conf, add the entries, save it and restart the apache. The problem: But if we add a new sub domain from cpanel or we run the # /usr/local/cpanel/bin/apache_conf_distiller --update # /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf the virtualhost entries that we added manually are no more there in the newly generated httpd.conf file. Only the virtualhost entry for the main domain for port 443 that was there before we made edits to the httpd.conf is there(assuming we are not discussing virtualhost entries for port 80). I understand we need to put the new virtualhost entries in some include files as mentioned here in the cpanel documentation. But am not sure where to. So the question would be where do I put the NameVirtualHost xx.xx.144.72:443 directive and the two virtualhost directive for port 443, so that they are not overwritten when httpd.conf is rebuilt/regenerated later. • Percona MySQL 5.5 fails to start

  trying to setup new server here but keep getting this in error log: mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /data/mysql/myisam [Warning] Can't create test file /data/mysql/myisam/hostname.lower-test [Warning] Can't create test file /data/mysql/myisam/hostname.lower-test [Note] Flashcache bypass: disabled [Note] Flashcache setup error is : setmntent failed /usr/sbin/mysqld: File '/var/mysql/bin/bin-log.index' not found (Errcode: 13) [ERROR] Aborting [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld: Shutdown complete mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid ended everything under /data/mysql (it's ibdata and myisam folders) is owned my mysql:mysql and has proper permissions same goes for folders with bin and relay logs under /var/mysql apparmor is purged from server any ideas? PS it seems like something else apart from apparmor is affecting permissions to access mysql files after i changed data directory to more default one - /var/lib/mysql and "Can't create test file" error is gone, but "'/var/mysql/bin/bin-log.index' not found (Errcode: 13)" is still there PPS so i installed apparmor back and added all folders to mysqld's profile and errors mentioned above are now gone(or mysql doesn't even get to that point now) what i have now is this: /usr/sbin/mysqld: error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory banging my head against the wall.
