Even after coaching, users still tend to not understand how to use filters because AND OR = etc are foreign to them. This filter is easy for programmers since it is easily translated into code.   • Daemon running as user nobody needs to copy file from Desktop

    I have a daemon that is running as user nobody. It needs to copy a file that I specify into /Users/Shared/MyFolder If I tell it to copy a file that is already in /Users/Shared/ it works fine. If I tell it to copy it from somewhere in my home directory like the desktop, the copy fails. I'm using NSFileManager copyPath:toPath: Any ideas?

I.e nothing related to the core functionalities of the application, but rather examples of all these little details which give an application a "polished" look (new fonts, change in layout, more descriptive labels...others ?)     Is it possible to require the user be authenticated (logged in) when downloading ZIP files from my site? Note that I don't have direct control of IIS7. (I'm on a shared hosting account.) I can't simply alter the access for a particular directory because many directories are involved and most contain other files that can be accessed freely.   • Skip new Windows 7 user selection and go to login prompt

    We've begun our migration to windows 7 and we ran into an interesting issue. When we hit "CTRL+ALT+DEL" we are brought to the "User selection Screen". Normally, this screen will have an icon for every local user for the machine. These machines are Domain members with "Fast User Switch" disabled so no user names are listed only the "Other User" option. If you click "Other User" or hit enter, the system moves on to the normal login screen where it prompts for user name and password. Here's the issue: We want to find a way to skip over the part where a user selects "Other User". We essentially want the system to always assume that we always want "Other User" and to go directly to the login screen when a user hits "CTRL+ALT+DEL". What I find odd is that the "Other User" doesn't show up until we've had more than one domain user log in. Right after we re-image the machine, the login process goes directly to the user credential prompt. Anyone have any ideas?

  • DNN: Registered Mark changing to Question Mark

    I am having a problem with registered marks in the HTML module.  We need to use the Registered Trademark symbol (®) but some of them are being changed to question marks.  I can find no ryme or reason behind which change and which remain correct.  I have tried a number of things to fix this issue including the following: Using ® and ® using ® copy and paste of ® in both source and non source and using the "insert special character" from the RTE menu Some of the symbols remain but most revert back to question marks.  If i'm in edit mode, the questions marks change back to the registered mark.  Also sometimes the first time viewing the page not logged in or in view mode, they will look fine. But as soon as I got to edit mode or a new page then go back, they change back to question marks.  I am out of idea as to why this is happening.     I'm a noob, development wise and logistically-wise. I'm developing a site that lets people take a test... My client wants the ability for a user with the roll/privledge "admin" (a step below a super-admin) to be allowed to create users and only see/edit the users that they create... The users created in that "category" or group need some information that their superior provides. For example, I log in as a "manager", I have the ability to invite people to take the test, and manage those people. Before adding those people, I will have filled out a short survey about myself... Right now, the users that are invited will be asked some of the same questions as the manager. I'd like to cut down the redundancy by using the information put into the database by the manager and apply it to the invited users. How do I set up my database to work with this criterion? I'm a little confused about how to do this! Let me know if I can add more details... (This is a mysql and php app)

  • How to add LDAP user to existing local group in RHEL?

    I'm attempting to add some of our LDAP users to a locally defined group on our RHEL server, however I get an error stating that the LDAP user is not found in /etc/passwd. What would be the best way to allow LDAP users to be added to local groups? My feeling is that this must be done manually. I could edit: /etc/group and add the LDAP group to the list. Would that be ideal?
