Hi All,
I am trying to use literalcontrol to add a button as input type="submit"
litLevelList.Text += string.Format(" < input type='submit' id='{0}' value='{1}' name='{2}' >", btnSave.ClientID, Lang.Trans("Save Changes " ) , btnSave. ??);
I could get the button ID using CLientID but without the name the data doesnt seems to be submitted.
Could anyone tell me how i could access the name value rendered by ASP for a button control.
thanks,
vishnu
Using ASP.NET and the DataGrid, how do I bind a HyperLinkColumn to more than one field?
Dim detail As New HyperLinkColumn
With detail
.Text = "View Details"
.HeaderText = ""
.NavigateUrl = "\TeamDetail.aspx?Account={0}&Broker={1}"
.DataNavigateUrlField = "AccountKey, BrokerNumberKey"
End With
I was hoping for an data-binding event on HyperLinkColumn but no such luck.
how can i check if a user is logged in in user control with asp.net mvc

I am trying to build a web site using asp.net, so since i an not very good on the design
part.
I am wondering where is the best site to get a good template for my web site.
I have an old redhat 8 box that I need to pragmatically send files to my webserver from. Disregarding the security issues with this, I've come up with the following way.
curl -F file=@<filename> http://webhost/reciever.aspx
The problem is, no matter what I try, the ASP.NET page is not accepting the file. What am I doing wrong?
Im asp.net mvc3 c# code returns json list like this:
return Json(new { name = UserNames, imageUrl = ImageUrls });
UserNames and ImageUrls are both List types
And this is my jquery
function StartSearch(text) {
$.ajax({
url: '/Shared/Search',
type: 'POST',
data: { SearchText: text },
dataType: 'json',
success: function (result) {
$.each(result, function (i, item) {
alert(result[i].name);
});

I dont even know where to start with this, url writting maybe?
Hello,
I have two comma separated lists:-
36,189,47,183,65,50
65,50,189,47
The question is how to compare the two in classic ASP in order to identify and return any values that exist in list 1 but that don't exist in list 2 bearing in mind that associative arrays aren't available.
E.g., in the above example I would need the return value to be 36,183
Thanks
We are working on exception handling with ASP.NET web applications (with C# language). Would you please let me know the best practices of Exception handling?
Hello. I don't know if it has been asked before, couldn't find it either.
Is it possible to control the type of the input text that is rendered by an asp:TextBox? I would like to change it to <input type="date">
any suggestions or comments are welcome, thanks
In asp classic, the cint() function or procedure or whatever it is won't allow me to cast arbitrary strings, like "bob" or "null" or anything like that. Is there anything that will allow me to simply cast integers, numeric strings, and arbitrary strings to actual integers, with some sane default like 0 for strings?
I was wondering if anyone has come up with an ASP.net server tag for the HTML5 canvas? I was thinking of something where I could declaritively define paths, curves; etc in the aspx markup, and the control would deliver the js to do this (perhaps with support for browser detection, and delivery of an emulation script for IE browsers.)
Maybe a good idea for a Codeplex project for me to start up?
For my blog I am wanting to use the Output Cache to save a cached version of a perticular post for around 10 minutes, and thats fine...
<%@OutputCache Duration="600" VaryByParam="*" %>
However, if someone posts a comment, I want to clear the cache so that the page is refreshed and the comment can be seen.
How do I do this in ASP.Net C#?
I need to capture the 'Update' click event with jQuery in an asp.net GridView and have no way of knowing where to start. I'm still rather new to jQuery. My GridView is attached to a SQLDataSource and, naturally, has all the bells and whistles that that combination affords. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We are implementing a single sign on mechanism in an enterprise environment, where the token is shared between applications using HTTP header. Now, in order to do the integration test, I need to write an application to simulate this.
Is there any way in ASP.NET where I can redirect to another web-page and pass a custom HTTP header in the process?
Thanks

I have seen at least two ways to include an external log4net config file in an ASP.NET web application:
Having the following attribute in your AssemblyInfo.cs file:
[assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(ConfigFile = "Log.config", Watch = true)]
Calling the XmlConfigurator in the Global.asax.cs:
protected void Application_Start()
{
XmlConfigurator.Configure(new FileInfo("Log.config"));
}
What would be the best practice to do it?
With windows and sql server accounts, I can access the logged in user with functions like: user_name() or suser_sname().
Can I access the user that is logged into asp.net in the same way?
The MSDN documentation for using an asynchronous controller mentions choosing an asynchronous controller when you want to provide a way for users to cancel requests.
I couldn't find any documentation related to actually allowing users to cancel asynchronous requests, however. Is there a way to indicate to ASP.Net and/or the MVC framework that a request should be canceled?
Why does the property SessionID on the Session-object in an ASP.NET-page change between requests?
I have a page like this:
...
<div>
SessionID: <%= SessionID %>
</div>
...
And the output keeps changing every time I hit F5, independent of browser.
I've seen this work correctly in other projects.
