  I am using JSF 2.2, Primefaces 4.0, and I am using slider component from Primefaces. <p:slider displayTemplate="Between {min} and {max}" minValue="20" maxValue="40" step="1"/> I would like to ask you if is possibile to have step as decimal value. E.g. step="0.1", or perhaps some ideas about how to solve this issue.   Is there a good solution for picking a file in an android application? I need the user to be able to browse their SD card for a file they would like to load. However, it cannot use an outside application (like andExplorer). It must stay contained inside my application. I saw one a while ago that's hosted on google code and used by the Gameboid, SNESoid and other similar emulators to pick roms. If any one can point me to that one that'd be just as great. Thanks!

  Hey guys I have this piece of code which works 90% of the time: $user_details=$fb-api_client-users_getInfo($fb_user, array('last_name','first_name','proxied_email')); $firstName=$user_details[0]['first_name']; But sometimes I get this error: Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array for line $firstName=$user_details[0]['first_name']; I have read several people report the same issue - but I'm still not clear as to what is the reason - Am I getting this error because facebook is not returning any results or am I getting because it is returning only a single array instead of array of arrays. This is the fix I'm thinking of: if (!is_array($user_details)) { $firstName=''; } else { $firstName = ($user_details[0]) ? $user_details[0]['first_name'] : $user_details['first_name']; } Also if I'm not getting the name - is it because of a timeout issue or something else?   Hi, I am having problems with the google maps API V3. It seems that every time I load my page the maps load (including the markers) and then it does a quick reload and removes all the markers. Am I missing somehting? What am I doing wrong?   I followed exactly what I thought I understood the steps to be in the iPhone Programming Guide for specifying that my app requires telephony (I opened MyApp-info.plist, added a new key called UIRequiredDeviceCapabilties, set the key type to Dictionary, added a new row with key set to "telephony", type Boolean, value YES), and sent my app off to Apple. Lo and behold, eleven days later, I get a message from Apple that it's been rejected for not using the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key. WTF? How are you actually supposed to implement this?

  I have a client who has a sort of data warehouse stored in DB2. For a variety of reasons, the data must remain on this platform. The client is considering implementing an open-source CMS (Drupal) which runs in MySQL. The client needs to be able to execute a bunch of pre-defined queries against the DB2 database from the remote application. Drupal appears to interact well with XML data from other systems. It was suggested that we use something like XML-RPC to execute the queries against DB2. I am very familiar with SQL Server and pretty familiar with MySQL, but I have no experience with DB2 and no understanding of its capabilities or limitations. Is there any way that we can use something like XML, XML-RPC, or even http to initiate queries against a DB2 database? Any ideas are appreciated! Thank you!

  I have a wcf service I am setting up to run under IIS 7. I have the service set to streaming for the transfermode but when my service is hosted on IIS I get a time out for the client service call. If I self host the service in a console application I don't have a problem and the service streams just fine.

  I have a simple ViewModel like: public class MainViewModel { public MainViewModel() { // Fill collection from DB here... } public ObservableCollection<Projects> ProjectList { get; set; } } I set the window's DataContext to a new instance of that ViewModel in the constructor: public MainWindow() { this.DataContext = new MainViewModel(); } Then in the Xaml I am attempting to bind the ItemsSource of a ListBox to that ProjectList property. Binding just ItemsSource like so doesn't work: <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding ProjectList}" ItemTemplate="..." /> But if I first rebase the DataContext this works: <ListBox DataContext="{Binding ProjectList}" ItemsSource="{Binding}" ItemTemplate="..." /> Shouldn't the first method work properly? What am I doing wrong?

Game runs for around 15 min fine but quits with an error message: "Program received signal: “0”. warning: check_safe_call: could not restore current frame" i also tried debugging with memory leak tools provided in Xcode but could not find any issue with memory management or any increase in memory size on simulator it works fine but not on the device. i m confused wht can be the issue.   With the SetupAPI.DLL I execute Function SetupDiGetClassDevs and get a pointer or handle Then Begin a loop Then I run Return = Function SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces with SP_DEVICE_INTERFACE_DATA.cbSize = 0 to get my size of what SP_DEVICE_INTERFACE_DATA needs to be Then I set size and execute again SP_DEVICE_INTERFACE_DATA.cbSize = return (the size) Function SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces From the data structures I get DevicePath from SP_DEVINFO_DATA And a heap of information from the registry if I want it I beleave What I’m realy wanting is to access the HID.DLL and call HidD_GetAttributes to get VendorID, ProductID, and VersionNumber To this Enumerated device, so I can ID the device. I expect this particular info would come from the USB device its self. Can any one show me how to do that. By the way in my version of windows XP I’m using the registry path, I cannot find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\HID...\Class I do not even get HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\ I think this is because I have not executed the SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces Function Why? • Entity Framework 4 Code First and the new() Operator

  I have a rather deep hierarchy of objects that I'm trying to persist with Entity Framework 4, POCO, PI (Persistence Ignorance) and Code First. Suddenly things started working pretty well when it dawned on me to not use the new() operator. As originally written, the objects frequently use new() to create child objects. Instead I'm using my take on the Repository Pattern to create all child objects as needed. For example, given: class Adam { List<Child> children; void AddChildGivenInput(string input) { children.Add(new Child(...)); } } class Child { List<GrandChild> grandchildren; void AddGrandChildGivenInput(string input) { grandchildren.Add(new GrandChild(...)); } } class GrandChild { } ("GivenInput" implies some processing not shown here) I define an AdamRepository like: class AdamRepository { Adam Add() { return objectContext.Create<Adam>(); } Child AddChildGivenInput(Adam adam, string input) { return adam.children.Add(new Child(...)); } GrandChild AddGrandchildGivenInput(Child child, string input) { return child.grandchildren.Add(new GrandChild(...)); } } Now, this works well enough. However, I'm no longer "ignorant" of my persistence mechanism as I have abandoned the new() operator. Additionally, I'm at risk of an anemic domain model since so much logic ends up in the repository rather than in the domain objects. After much adieu, a question: Or rather several questions... Is this pattern required to work with EF 4 Code First? Is there a way to retain use of new() and still work with EF 4 / POCO / Code First? Is there another pattern that would leave logic in the domain object and still work with EF 4 / POCO / Code First? Will this restriction be lifted in later versions of Code First support? Sometimes trying to go the POCO / Persistence Ignorance route feels like swimming upstream, other times it feels like swimming up Niagra Falls.

  What is the most efficient way to create a constant (never changes at runtime) mapping of strings to ints? I've tried using a const Dictionary, but that didn't work out. I could implement a immutable wrapper with appropriate semantics, but that still doesn't seem totally right. For those who have asked, I'm implementing IDataErrorInfo in a generated class and am looking for a way to make the columnName lookup into my array of descriptors. I wasn't aware (typo when testing! d'oh!) that switch accepts strings, so that's what I'm gonna use. Thanks!

  Hi All, I have a js object structured like: object.property1 = "some string"; object.property2 = "some string"; object.property3.property1 = "some string"; object.property3.property2 = "some string"; object.property3.property2 = "some string"; i'm using JSON.stringify(object) to pass this with ajax request. When i try to deserialize this using JavaScriptSerializer.Deserialize as a Dictionary i get the following error: No parameterless constructor defined for type of 'System.String'. This exact same process is working for regular object with non "collection" properties.. thanks for any help!

• How to ThinApp a Database Application & SQL Server 2005

  To make it easier for potential clients to try out our software without having to go to the trouble of installing SQL Server, a test database, setting up an ODBC connection and so on, we want to package the whole thing with VMWare ThinApp. Ideally, there'd be a single executable and all the user would have to do is run it. I've been reading up on ThinApp on the VMWare website but am still unsure how to go about doing this. Is the correct approach to put SQL Server and the application in separate packages, reverting to a clean version of the virtual enviroment prior to each packaging? That seems somewhat problematic because the app needs the DBMS to run, as well as an ODBC connection. Like I said, we'd prefer to go with a single package (package = executable?), but two executables are also acceptable if an alternative can't be found. I realize that the same result can probably be achieved by way of a custom SQL Server Express installation but ThinApp looks like a better and more elegant solution.
