  • Simple GET operation with JSON data in ADF Mobile

    Usecase: This sample uses a RESTful service which contains a GET method that fetches employee details for an employee with given employee ID along with other methods. The data is fetched in JSON format. This RESTful service is then invoked via ADF Mobile and the JSON data thus obtained is parsed and rendered in mobile in a table. Prerequisite: Download JDev build JDEVADF_11.1.2.4.0_GENERIC_130421.1600.6436.1 or higher with mobile support.  Steps: Run EmployeeService.java in JSONService.zip. This is a simple service with a method, getEmpById(id) that takes employee ID as parameter and produces employee details in JSON format. Copy the target URL generated on running this service. The target URL will be as shown below: http://127.0.0.1:7101/JSONService-Project1-context-root/jersey/project1 Now, let us invoke this service in our mobile application. For this, create an ADF Mobile application.  Name the application JSON_SearchByEmpID and finish the wizard. Now, let us create a connection to our service. To do this, we create a URL Connection. Invoke new gallery wizard on ApplicationController project.  Select URL Connection option. In the Create URL Connection window, enter connection name as ‘conn’. For URL endpoint, supply the URL you copied earlier on running the service. Remember to use your system IP instead of localhost. Test the connection and click OK. At this point, a connection to the REST service has been created. Since JSON data is not supported directly in WSDC wizard, we need to invoke the operation through Java code using RestServiceAdapter. For this, in the ApplicationController project, create a Java class called ‘EmployeeDC’. We will be creating DC from this class.   • Android - HorizontalScrollView within ScrollView Touch Handling

    Hi, I have a ScrollView that surrounds my entire layout so that the entire screen is scrollable. The first element I have in this ScrollView is a HorizontalScrollView block that has features that can be scrolled through horizontally. I've added an ontouchlistener to the horizontalscrollview to handle touch events and force the view to "snap" to the closest image on the ACTION_UP event. So the effect I'm going for is like the stock android homescreen where you can scroll from one to the other and it snaps to one screen when you lift your finger. This all works great except for one problem: I need to swipe left to right almost perfectly horizontally for an ACTION_UP to ever register. If I swipe vertically in the very least (which I think many people tend to do on their phones when swiping side to side), I will receive an ACTION_CANCEL instead of an ACTION_UP. My theory is that this is because the horizontalscrollview is within a scrollview, and the scrollview is hijacking the vertical touch to allow for vertical scrolling. How can I disable the touch events for the scrollview from just within my horizontal scrollview, but still allow for normal vertical scrolling elsewhere in the scrollview?     Hi... Two questions: Is there a simple way to do the Curl page flipping animation? A Curl animation is animation of pages flipping, including the page above rolling and the shadows over the lower page. What is the recommended way to do a "gallery" that displays two pages at a time (just like a book)? Is it: Letting the adapter display a linear layout of two images at a time? (it won't let me show a page flipping over the other like a book) Using two pages, placing somehow one near the other, and then when it's time to animate -move the next two pages over?     On my website I want the user to have the ability to login/logout from any page. When the user select login button a modal dialog will be present to the user for him to enter in his credentials. Since login will be on every page, I thought I would create a partial view for the login and add it to the layout page. But when I did this I got the following error: Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Duration must be a positive number. There are other ways to work around this that would not using partial views, but I believe this should work.     I have an application using OpenLayers, Extjs and GeoExt. My application runs fine, but I need it to be placed inside an IFrame in another page. When doing this, my toolbar becomes responseless in Internet Explorer. The cause is Ext.QuickTips.init();. Comment out this line and everything works fine - except the quick tips ofcourse =) But why is it causing problems? Is it because I'm using it wrong, placing it wrong or just because it doesn't like IE and IFrames?     I'm working on an app that calls a web service, then the webservice returns an array list. My problem is I am having trouble getting the data into the ArrayList and then displaying in a ListView.     I am trying to design an application for Android that makes use of the SlidingDrawer, but I have not been able to use the form (layout?) designer to add this element without producing an exception "IllegalArgumentException: The handle attribute is required and must refer to a valid child." As of March 17th, I believe I have everything up to date (Eclipse, and the Android SDK). All the SDK components have been installed. I have created two Android virtual devices, One for version 1.0, and one for version 2.1 when I figured out that 1.0 didn't support the SlidingDrawer. I have tried importing the samples provided in the SDK, as well as several other layouts from the web that I have found, all of which produce this same exception. My programming background is mostly C++, and I consider myself to be a novice programmer, so feel free to talk to me as if I were an idiot so that I will understand. ^^;

But it looks like blackberry doesn't have an internal api for creating single line Edit field. I have created a Custom Field by extending BasciEditField overriding methods like layout, paint. In paint i am drawing a rectangle with getpreferred width and height. But the cursor is coming at default position (top-left) in Edit Field.     I would like to be able to close the editpreference dialog (as shown here http://twitpic.com/18ttdp) by pressing the 'Done' button on the keyboard. Currently, pressing 'Done' just dismisses the keyboard but leaves the dialog.     I have a custom UITableViewCell with a custom layout. I wanted a gradient background, so in my UITableViewDelegate cellForRowAtIndexPath: method, I create a CAGradientLayer and add it to the cell's layer with insertSubLayer:atIndex: (using index 0). This works just fine except for two things: Most importantly, I can't figure out how to change to a different gradient color when the row is highlighted. I have tried a couple things, but I'm just not familiar enough with the framework to get it working. Where would be the ideal place to put that code, inside the table delegate or the cell itself? Also, there's a 1px white space in between each cell in the table. I have a background color on the main view, a background color on the table, and a background color on the cell. Is there some kind of padding or spacer by default in a UITableView?

    Hello, I tried several things to try to get the camera preview to show up in portrait on a SurfaceView. Nothing worked. I am testing on a Droid that has 2.0.1. I tried: 1) forcing the layout to be portrait by: this.setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE); 2) using Camera.Parameters parameters = camera.getParameters(); parameters.set("orientation", "portrait"); parameters.setRotation(90); camera.setParameters(parameters); Is there something else I can try?     I want to be able to take the user to the requested page after login, but this does not happen with sfGuard. ** My Register action requires SignIn ;) ** On the listing page [http://cim/frontend_dev.php/] - user clicks the 'Register' link [@register = register/index] - user is taken to 'Signin' page provided by sfGuard - after sign-in, user is taken back to the Listing page (instead of Register) This is quite annoying! But logical, because the referrer is the listing page. How can I change logic to make @register the referrer?
