  • Should enumerators be placed in a separate file or within another class?

    - by Icono123
    I currently have a class file with the following enumerator: using System; namespace Helper { public enum ProcessType { Word = 0, Adobe = 1, } } Or should I include the enumerator in the class where it's being used? I noticed Microsoft creates a new class file for DockStyle: using System; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Drawing.Design; namespace System.Windows.Forms { public enum DockStyle { None = 0, Top = 1, Bottom = 2, Left = 3, Right = 4,. Fill = 5, } }

    Hello, world! I have a problem. Today I tried to create a code, which finds Catalan number. But in my program can be long numbers. I found numerator and denominator. But i can't div long numbers! Also, only standard libraries was must use in this program. Help me please. This is my code #include <vector> #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { const int base = 1000*1000*1000; vector <int> a, b; int n, carry = 0; cin>>n; a.push_back(n); for (int ii=n+2; ii!=(2*n)+1;++ii) { carry = 0; for (size_t i=0; i<a.size() || carry; ++i) { if (i == a.size()) a.push_back (0); long long cur = carry + a[i] * 1ll * ii; a[i] = int (cur % base); carry = int (cur / base); } } while (a.size() > 1 && a.back() == 0) a.pop_back(); b.push_back(n); for (int ii=1; ii!=n+1;++ii) { carry = 0; for (size_t i=0; i<b.size() || carry; ++i) { if (i == b.size()) b.push_back (0); long long cur = carry + b[i] * 1ll * ii; b[i] = int (cur % base); carry = int (cur / base); } } while (b.size() > 1 && b.back() == 0) b.pop_back(); cout<<(a.empty() ? 0 : a.back()); for (int i=(int)a.size()-2; i>=0; --i) cout<<(a[i]); cout<<" "; cout<<(b.empty() ? 0 : b.back()); for (int i=(int)b.size()-2; i>=0; --i) cout<<(b[i]); //system("PAUSE"); cout<<endl; return 0; } P.S.   • What are the implications of multi-tasking in iOS 4.0 for developers?

    - by MrDatabase
    I just watched this video from Apple that shows multi-tasking on the new iPhone (running iOS 4.0). What are the implications of multi-tasking to developers? Include both positives and negatives. For example what happens if the user decides to launch two resource-intensives apps at the same time, one of the apps crashes and progress in a game (for example) is lost. Should developers be considering this when writing apps for the new OS and phone?

  • fill an array with Int like a Char; C++, cin object

    - by Duknov007
    This is a pretty simple question; first time poster and long time looker. Here is my binary to decimal converter I wrote: #include <iostream> #include <cmath> using namespace std; const int MAX = 6; int conv(int z[MAX], int l[6], int MAX); int main() { int zelda[MAX]; const int d = 6; int link[d]; cout << "Enter a binary number: \n"; int i = 0; while (i < MAX && (cin >> zelda[i]).get()) //input loop { ++i; } cout << conv(zelda, link, MAX); cin.get(); return 0; } int conv(int zelda[MAX], int link[6], int MAX) { int sum = 0; for (int t = 0; t < MAX; t++) { long int h, i; for (int h = 5, i = 0; h >= 0; --h, ++i) if (zelda[t] == 1) link[h] = pow(2.0, i); else link[h] = 0; sum += link[t]; } return sum; } With the way the input loop is being handled, I have to press enter after each input of a number. I haven't added any error correction yet either (and some of my variables are vague), but would like to enter a binary say 111111 instead of 1 enter, 1 enter, 1 enter, etc to fill the array. I am open to any technique and other suggestions. Maybe input it as a string and convert it to an int? I will keep researching. Thanks.

  • Scaling range of values with negative numbers

    - by Pradeep Kumar
    How can I scale a set of values to fit a new range if they include negative numbers? For example, I have a set of numbers (-10, -9, 1, 4, 10) which have to scaled to a range [0 1], such that -10 maps to 0, and 10 maps to 1. The regular method for an arbitrary number 'x' would be: (x - from_min) * (to_max - to_min) / (from_max - from_min) + to_min but this does not work for negative numbers. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

  • GCC compile time division error

    - by kartikmohta
    Can someone explain this behaviour? test.c: #include <stdio.h> int main(void) { printf("%d, %d\n", (int) (300.6000/0.05000), (int) (300.65000/0.05000)); printf("%f, %f\n", (300.6000/0.05000), (300.65000/0.05000)); return 0; } $ gcc test.c $ ./a.out 6012, 6012 6012.000000, 6013.000000 I checked the assembly code and it puts both the arguments of the first printf as 6012, so it seems to be a compile time bug.

    I need your help. We are ask to make a telephone directory program that asks your name, address, and telephone number. If the name you entered already exists, it will display that it already exists. This is what i have so far... #include<stdio.h> #include<conio.h> struct file { char name[25],address[25]; double telno; }; char tempname[25],tempadd[25]; double tempnum; int x; int choice; FILE *fp; main() { struct file rec; clrscr(); fp=fopen("TelDir.txt","a+"); while(!feof(fp)) { fscanf(fp,"%s %s %.0lf,&tempname,&tempadd,&tempnum); printf("\n%s\t\t%s\t\t\t%.0lf",tempname,tempadd,tempnum); printf("\nEnter Name: "); gets(rec.name); if(strcmp(rec.name,tempname)==1) { printf("\n\nALREADY EXIST!"); printf("\n%s\t\t%s\t\t\t%.0lf",tempname,tempadd,tempnum); getch(); } else { printf("Enter Address: "); scanf("%s",&rec.address); printf("Enter your Telephone No.: "); scanf("%lf",&rec.telno); printf("%s\t\t%s\t\t%\t\t0lf",rec.name,rec.address,rec.telno); fprintf(fp,"%s %s %.0lf\n",rec.name,rec.address,rec.telno); } } fclose(fp); getch(); } But this thing doesn't work. I don't know where the error is. Can someone help me on this? I would really appreciate if you could help me somehow.

  • Is it possible to restrict how a method can be called in PHP?

    - by Ashley Ward
    Given that my class looks like this: class Methods{ function a(){ return 'a'; } function b(){ $this->a(); } function c(){ $this->a(); } } Is it possible to ensure that function a can only be called from function b? In the above example function c should fail. I could just include it in function b, but in the future I may want to let a() be called by some new functions (e.g. d() or e())
