• Not able to install iPhone final 3.2 SDK

  Hi All, I downloaded latest SDK xcode_3.2.2.2_and_iPhone_SDK_3.2_final.dmg from apple site. I uninstall the old SDk and double click the .dmg file then i got a popup stating that "The following Disk Images couldnt found" and "xcode_3.2.2.2_and_iPhone_SDK_3.2_final.dmg is not recognized". I am using OS 10.6.3 Thank You

• Is there a tool for detecting Visual Studio projects with duplicate GUIDs?

  When creating new Visual Studio C++ projects there're two ways: either run the wizard and then painfully change all the necessary settings in the project or just copy and existing project, rename everything there and add files into it. The second variant is great except that the .vcproj file stores a project GUID. This GUID is used to track project dependencies and the startup project when two or more projects are in one solution. If any two projects in one solution have identical GUIDs problems can arise - dependencies are lost and the startup prject is reset on next solution reload. Clearly there's a need for a tool that would scan the filesystem subtree and detect projects with identical GUIDs here. Before I start writing one ... is there a ready tool for that?

• How can I pre-compress files with mod_deflate in Apache 2.x?

  I am serving all content through apache with Content-Encoding: zip but that compresses on the fly. A good amount of my content is static files on the disk. I want to gzip the files beforehand rather than compressing them every time they are requested. This is something that, I believe, mod_gzip did in Apache 1.x automatically, but just having the file with .gz next to it. That's no longer the case with mod_deflate.

• Making a textfile into a list in matlab?

  I have a textfile and would like to import it onto Matlab and make it a list Person1 name = steven grade = 11 age= 17 Person2 name = mike grade = 9 age= 15 Person3 name = taylor grade = 11 age= 17 There are a few hundred entries like these above. Each are seperated by a blank line I was thinking I could scan the text and make the information between each blank line into an item in the list. I also would like to be able to look up each person by name once I have a list like the one below. I want something like x = [Person1 Person2 Person3 name = steven name = mike name = taylor grade = 11 grade = 9 grade = 11 age = 17 age = 15 age = 17] This seems very straight forward but I have been having trouble with this so far, I may be overlooking something. anyone have any ideas or advice?

  I have 2 databases (users, userRankings) for a system that needs to have rankings updated every 10 minutes. I use the following code to update these rankings which works fairly well, but there is still a full table scan involved which slows things down with a few hundred thousand users. mysql_query("TRUNCATE TABLE userRankings"); mysql_query("INSERT INTO userRankings (userid) SELECT id FROM users ORDER BY score DESC"); mysql_query("UPDATE users a, userRankings b SET a.rank = b.rank WHERE a.id = b.userid"); In the userRankings table, rank is the primary key and userid is an index. Both tables are MyISAM (I've wondered if it might be beneficial to make userRankings InnoDB).

• SQL Server indexed view matching of views with joins not working

  Does anyone have experience of when SQL Servr 2008 R2 is able to automatically match indexed view (also known as materialized views) that contain joins to a query? for example the view select dbo.Orders.Date, dbo.OrderDetails.ProductID from dbo.OrderDetails join dbo.Orders on dbo.OrderDetails.OrderID = dbo.Orders.ID cannot be automatically matched to the same exact query. When I select directly from this view ith (noexpand) I actually get a much faster query plan that does a scan on the clustered index of the indexed view. Can I get SQL Server to do this matching automatically? I have quite a few queries and views... I am on enterprise edition of SQL Server 2008 R2.

  PdfFileReader reads the content from a pdf file to create an object. I am querying the pdf from a cdn via urllib.urlopen(), this provides me a file like object, which has no seek. Now, what can I do to avoid writing to disk and reading it again via file(). Thanks in advance.

  Hello everyone, I have a program that will scan the contents of a website, and display it in a textbox. The problem is that it shows the html source. For example if my html code was: <html> <body> <p>Hello</p> </body> </html> instead of just showing hello, it'll show the code above... How can I get my objective c program to just read the hello, and not the html source.. I was assuming that it was the encoding when reading the website, but I might be possibly wrong.. For example, in Linux, strip-down to a bare minimum all unnecessary binaries, daemons, utilities, tune kernel parameters, optimize raw and cooked devices (hdparm), place swap space on beginning tracks of a disk, etc. Someday, maybe, Informix can create its own proprietary and dedicated PICK-like O/S to provide the most optimized environment for a standalone ifx server? The general idea is for the OS where ifx sits on have the smallest footprint and lowest overhead impact.

  I have a GUI program that allows a user a scan a network, the issue is that when the pcap_loop function is called, my GUI program becomes unresponsive.(the pcap_loop blocks the current thread).   I just switched from Eclipse to NetBeans IDE 6.8 for my PHP/Ajax development. Eclipse always showed a little hard disk symbol over the file icon for files that were in sync with the svn repository, and an asterisk for files with changes that have not been committed. Is there a way to see the commit status in NetBeans? If not, what is your preferred way of recognizing which files to commit?

• Windows repair console, imposible?

  Hi guys, I found an old Windows XP SP2 in my -trash- cd can and tryed it on a 30 gb FAT32 partition. Installation went fine till the copying operation was completed and XP asked for reboot. After that either it starts over again or throws invalid disk. Starting over is an infinite loop the only way I see is to choose the "Repair console" but i'm not used to a dos box. Can anyone help me through this harmful instalation? Cheers, Daniel

• spring-nullpointerexception- cant access autowired annotated service (or dao) in a no-annotations class

  I have this problem that I cannot fix. From my @Controller, i can easily access my autowired @Service class and play with it no problem. But when I do that from a separate class without annotations, it gives me a NullPointerException. My Controller (works)- @Controller public class UserController { @Autowired UserService userService;... My separate Java class (not working)- public final class UsersManagementUtil { @Autowired UserService userService; or @Autowired UserDao userDao; userService or userDao are always null! Was just trying if any one of them works. • Annotation based view mapping

  I am trying to get my head around annotation based mappings and I am having some trouble mapping requests directly to jsp. Do all request have to go through a controller? Is it possible to make it just go to a jsp without declaring a RequestMapping for GET? I am using a InternalResourceViewResolver. • How can the AssemblyName class be used for existing Assembly's?

I am talking about from the perspective of using the AppDomain's instance method .Load(), that takes an AssemblyName object as a parameter. I know what MSDN has to say about what the .Load() method was designed for but that aside, I still want to know how to use it !!!

• Cocoa equivalent of diskEvt/kEventClassVolume?

  We have a drop-down menu of volumes in our UI, and I'd like to update it when a new disk is mounted. In the Classic days, this would involve watching for a diskEvt event. In Carbon, I think this was kEventClassVolume. What's the Cocoa equivalent? (A pointer into Apple's documentation on this would satisfy the question. I've been unable to find anything!)
