  • How to select the first property with unknown name and first item from array in JSON

    - by Oscar Godson
    I actually have two questions, both are probably simple, but for some odd reason I cant figure it out... I've worked with JSON 100s of times before too! but here is the JSON in question: {"69256":{ "streaminfo":{ "stream_ID":"1025", "sourceowner_ID":"2", "sourceowner_avatar":"http:\/\/content.nozzlmedia.com\/images\/sourceowner_avatar2.jpg", "sourceownertype_ID":"1", "stream_name":"Twitter", "streamtype":"Social media" "appsarray":[] }, "item":{ "headline":"Charboy", "main_image":"http:\/\/content.nozzlmedia.com\/images\/author_avatar173212.jpg", "summary":"ate a tomato and avocado for dinner...", "nozzl_captured":"2010-05-12 23:02:12", "geoarray":[{ "state":"OR", "county":"Multnomah", "city":"Portland", "neighborhood":"Downtown", "zip":"97205", "street":"462 SW 11th Ave", "latitude":"45.5219", "longitude":"-122.682" }], "full_content":"ate a tomato and avocado for dinner tonight. such tasty foods. just enjoyable.", "body_text":"ate a tomato and avocado for dinner tonight. such tasty foods. just enjoyable.", "author_name":"Charboy", "author_avatar":"http:\/\/content.nozzlmedia.com\/images\/author_avatar173212.jpg", "fulltext_url":"http:\/\/twitter.com\/charboy\/statuses\/13889868936", "leftovers":{ "twitter_id":"tag:search.twitter.com,2005:13889868936", "date":"2010-05-13T02:59:59Z", "location":"iPhone: 45.521866,-122.682262" }, "wordarray":{ "0":"ate", "1":"tomato", "2":"avocado", "3":"dinner", "4":"tonight", "5":"tasty", "6":"foods", "7":"just", "8":"enjoyable", "9":"Charboy", "11":"Twitter", "13":"state:OR", "14":"county:Multnomah, OR", "15":"city:Portland, OR", "16":"neighborhood:Downtown", "17":"zip:97205" } } } } Question 1: How do I loop through each item (69256) when the number is random? e.g. item 1 is 123, item2 is 646? Like, for example, a normal JSON feed would have something like: {'item':{'blah':'lorem'},'item':{'blah':'ipsum'}} the JS would be like console.log(item.blah) to return lorem then ipsum in a loop How do I do it when i dont know the first item of the object? Question 2: How do I select items from the geoarray object? I tried: json.test.item.geoarray.latitude and json.test.item.geoarray['latitude']

  • Escape Quote in C# for javascript consumption

    - by Jason
    I have a ASP.Net web handler that returns results of a query in JSON format public static String dt2JSON(DataTable dt) { String s = "{\"rows\":["; if (dt.Rows.Count > 0) { foreach (DataRow dr in dt.Rows) { s += "{"; for (int i = 0; i < dr.Table.Columns.Count; i++) { s += "\"" + dr.Table.Columns[i].ToString() + "\":\"" + dr[i].ToString() + "\","; } s = s.Remove(s.Length - 1, 1); s += "},"; } s = s.Remove(s.Length - 1, 1); } s += "]}"; return s; } The problem is that sometimes the data returned has quotes in it and I would need to javascript-escape these so that it can be properly created into a js object. I need a way to find quotes in my data (quotes aren't there every time) and place a "/" character in front of them. Example response text (wrong): {"rows":[{"id":"ABC123","length":"5""}, {"id":"DEF456","length":"1.35""}, {"id":"HIJ789","length":"36.25""}]} I would need to escape the " so my response should be: {"rows":[{"id":"ABC123","length":"5\""}, {"id":"DEF456","length":"1.35\""}, {"id":"HIJ789","length":"36.25\""}]} Also, I'm pretty new to C# (coding in general really) so if something else in my code looks silly let me know.

  • Use jQuery to find and add an image tooltip

    - by lund.mikkel
    Hey people Okay, what I'm trying to accomplish is a simple tool tip that, when you hover over the name of a color, shows a little image of that color. The html markup looks like this: <label class="colorPicker"> <input type="radio" checked="" id="20" value="20" name="id[2]"> <img width="16" height="16" title=" DinoBlack Mat " alt="DinoBlack Mat" src="images/attributes/color/dinoblack_mat.jpg">DinoBlack Mat </label> <label class="colorPicker"> <input type="radio" id="874" value="874" name="id[2]"> <img width="16" height="16" title="XrayBlue shiny" alt="XrayBlue shiny" src="images/attributes/color/xrayblue_shiny.jpg">XrayBlue shiny </label> I'm using the jQuery plugin "Tooltip" and I've added following to my main js-file: $('.colorPicker').tooltip({ track: true, delay: 0, showURL: false, fade: 250, bodyHandler: function() { return $("<img/>").attr("src", [THE SOURCE FOR THE IMAGE]); } }); The idea is simply that the image should be hidden by default. But when you hover over the text the little thumbnail shows up and makes it easy to recognize the color. The problem is I haven't got a clue how to get the src for the thumbnail. I don't know how to extract the src from the img inside the selected element. I've tried various combinations using the this keyword, but nothing seemed to work. I've also tried to add the src path as a rel attribute to the label, but also without any success. Should be needless to say I also control the PHP-output... I really hope you can help me. I've search the web for days without any luck. I'm getting desperate :D /Mikkel Lund

  • Customize jQuery.aptags plugin - mouseclick submit from .ac_results list

    - by atmorell
    Hello, I am using jquery.autocomplete.js and jquery.apitags to select a few elements from a div (.ac_results) This works great, and I can select multiple elements etc. However the jquery-aptags plugin does only fire when enter is pressed. This might confuse some users if they use the mouse to click instead of the arrows/enter on the keyboard. I think this is the code inside jquery.aptags that submits the tag. // // Hook to the keypress event. // $(this).bind('keypress', { __c: __c }, function (e) { var c = ''; var i = 0; var v = $(this).val(); if (e.keyCode == 13) { e.stopPropagation(); e.preventDefault(); __createSpans(this, v, e.data.__c, true); } }); I am wondering if it is possible to call the method directly from a new event. $('.ac_results > ul > li').livequery(function() { $(this).bind('click', function() { $('#address_city'). //how do I fire the "enter" event from here? }); }); Any thoughts?

  • Using max-width = 100% and max-height = 100% on an image, calculate the display width/height

    - by NatalieMac
    I am creating a slideshow for images of various sizes to display centered vertically and horizontally within a canvas area. In my CSS, I set the width and height of the image to 100% so that each image would proportionally fill the canvas. I want the canvas to auto-size itself to fit within the viewer's screensize as the original size of the images is quite large (up to 800 pixels tall). I am using jQuery 1.4, and using the height of the image to calculate the top value for absolute positioning it to the middle of the canvas. I have tried using jQuery to get the .height(), innerHeight(), and outerHeight(), but it always gets the full size of the image. I extracted the DOM element from the jQuery object and tried using .width, .offsetWidth, and .clientWidth, but that too always seems to return the full size of the image. Firebug displays the correct dimensions, so I know there's some way of calculating the actual display height of the image, I just can't figure out what it is. How do you get the actual display height of an image if you've set max-height = 100%? I didn't want to have to calculate and set the height of each image in the js, but if I have to, I will. It just seems like I should be able to set the canvas size and have the images auto-adjust.

  • Flash External Interface issue with Firefox

    - by majestiq
    I am having a hard time getting ExternalInterface to work on Firefox. I am trying to call a AS3 function from javascript. The SWF is setup with the right callbacks and it is working in IE. I am using AC_RunActiveContent.js to embed the swf into my page. However, I have modified it to add an ID to the Object / Embed Tags. Below are object and embed tag that are generated for IE and for Firefox respectively. <object codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="400" height="400" align="middle" id="jpeg_encoder2" name="jpeg_encoder3" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" > <param name="movie" value="/jpeg_encoder/jpeg_encoder3.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="play" value="true" /> <param name="loop" value="true" /> <param name="scale" value="showall" /> <param name="wmode" value="window" /> <param name="devicefont" value="false" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /> <param name="menu" value="false" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /> </object> <embed width="400" height="400" src="/jpeg_encoder/jpeg_encoder3.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" align="middle" play="true" loop="true" scale="showall" wmode="window" devicefont="false" id="jpeg_encoder2" bgcolor="#ffffff" name="jpeg_encoder3" menu="false" allowFullScreen="false" allowScriptAccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" > </embed> I am calling the function like this... <script> try { document.getElementById('jpeg_encoder2').processImage(z); } catch (e) { alert(e.message); } </script> In Firefox, I get an error saying "document.getElementById("jpeg_encoder2").processImage is not a function" Any Ideas?

  • Regex help in java validations

    - by user1697113
    Hi i want to do some validations.I used to put regex in JS but im new to regex in java, so i tried to make up a code on similar lines in java. Here is what i did. 1)Check whether first character in string is alphanumeric. 2)Check whether the string atleast 1 number. so i wrote a code, but it is always returning false.I am not sure if i'm doing this correctly. private static boolean checkEmbeddedPassword(final String field) { boolean returnValue=true; String testpatternAlpha="/^[A-Za-z0-9].+$/"; String testNumber="/[0-9]/"; Pattern pattern=Pattern.compile(testpatternAlpha); Pattern pattern2=Pattern.compile(testNumber); Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(field); Matcher matcher2 = pattern2.matcher(field); boolean firstChar=matcher.matches(); boolean numberFlag=matcher2.matches(); System.out.println("-----the value of pwd iss-----"+field); System.out.println("---------Regex---------Out--put-----"+firstChar); System.out.println("---------Regex---------Out- for numeral-put-----"+numberFlag); if(firstChar){ returnValue=false; } else if(field.contains(" ")) { System.out.println("-----------cannot have space------"); returnValue=false; } else if(numberFlag) { returnValue=false; } return returnValue; }

  • Jetty embedded: How to run the same config as with `mvn jetty:run-exploded`?

    - by Ondra Žižka
    Hi, I'd like to have the same Jetty server configuration, created programatically. When I run mvn jetty:run-exploded, my app works fine. When I run it from my code, the static content is not loaded. I know that I have to add a static content Servlet, so I tried: Server server = new Server(8080); Context ctx = new Context( server, "/", Context.SESSIONS ); DefaultServlet defaultServlet = new DefaultServlet(); ServletHolder defaultSH = new ServletHolder( defaultServlet ); defaultSH.setInitParameter( "resourceBase", "./"); ctx.addServlet( defaultSH, "/img" ); ctx.addServlet( defaultSH, "/css" ); ctx.addServlet( defaultSH, "/js" ); I am assuming that the pwd is in the webapp's "root", i.e. where the WEB-INF dir is. This does not work. Anyway. Is somewhere a clean block of pure Java code which will give me the exact same server config as the mvn jetty:run-explodeds default? Thanks for help, Ondra

  • AJAX vs ActiveX/Flash for browser-based game

    - by iconiK
    I have been following the usage of JavaScript for the past few years, and with the release of extremely fast scripting engines (V8, SquirrelFish Extrene, TraceMonkey, etc.) the possibilities of JavaScript have increased dramatically. However, the usage share of Internet Explorer coupled with it's total lack of support for recent standards makes me want to drop a bomb on Microsoft's HQ, as it creates a huge amount of problems for any website. The game will need to be pretty dynamic client-side, with animations and other eye-candy things, but not a full-blown game like those that run directly in the OS using DirectX or OpenGL. However, this might be a little stretch for JavaScript and will certainly feel extremely slow in Internet Explorer (given that the current IE engine can be hundreds of times slower than SFX; gotta see what IE9 will bring), would it be better to just do the whole thing in Flash? I know this means requiring the plug-in AND I have no experience whatsoever with Flash (other than browsing YouTube :P). It also means I can't just output directly from PHP, I would have to use XML or some other format to pass data to it (JSON is directly integrated in JS and PHP can deal with it easily). Another idea would be to provide an alternative interface just for IE, though I don't know how (ActiveX maybe? or with Flash, then why not just provide it to all browsers) or totally not supporting it and requiring the use of other browsers, although this is plain stupid from a business perspective. So here am I, wondering what approach to take and thus asking for your advice. How should I build the client-side? AJAX in all browsers, Flash in all browsers or a mix (AJAX for "modern" browsers and something else for the "grandpa": IE).

  • security deleting a mysql row with jQuery $.post

    - by FFish
    I want to delete a row in my database and found an example on how to do this with jQuery's $.post() Now I am wondering about security though.. Can someone send a POST request to my delete-row.php script from another website? JS function deleterow(id) { // alert(typeof(id)); // number if (confirm('Are you sure want to delete?')) { $.post('delete-row.php', {album_id:+id, ajax:'true'}, function() { $("#row_"+id).fadeOut("slow"); }); } } PHP: delete-row.php <?php require_once("../db.php"); mysql_connect(DB_SERVER, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD) or die("could not connect to database " . mysql_error()); mysql_select_db(DB_NAME) or die("could not select database " . mysql_error()); if (isset($_POST['album_id'])) { $query = "DELETE FROM albums WHERE album_id = " . $_POST['album_id']; $result = mysql_query($query); if (!$result) die('Invalid query: ' . mysql_error()); echo "album deleted!"; } ?>

  • jQuery: preventDefault() not working on input/click events?

    - by Jason
    I want to disable the default contextMenu when a user right-clicks on an input field so that I can show a custom contextMenu. Generally speaking, its pretty easy to disable the right-click menu by doing something like: $([whatever]).bind("click", function(e) { e.preventDefault(); }); And in fact, I can do this on just about every element EXCEPT for input fields in FF - anyone know why or could point me towards some documentation? Here is the relevant code I am working with, thanks guys. HTML: <script type="text/javascript"> var r = new RightClickTool(); </script> <div id="main"> <input type="text" class="listen rightClick" value="0" /> </div> JS: function RightClickTool(){ var _this = this; var _items = ".rightClick"; $(document).ready(function() { _this.init(); }); this.init = function() { _this.setListeners(); } this.setListeners = function() { $(_items).click(function(e) { var webKit = !$.browser.msie && e.button == 0; var ie = $.browser.msie && e.button == 1; if(webKit||ie) { // Left mouse...do something() } else if(e.button == 2) { e.preventDefault(); // Right mouse...do something else(); } }); } } // Ends Class

  • Javascript Object.Watch for all browsers?

    - by SeanW
    Hey all, I was looking for an easy way to monitor an object or variable for changes, and I found Object.Watch that's supported in Mozilla browsers, but not IE. So I started searching around to see if anyone had written some sort of equivalent. About the only thing I've found has been a jQuery plugin (http://plugins.jquery.com/files/jquery-watch.js.txt), but I'm not sure if that's the best way to go. I certainly use jQuery in most of my projects, so I'm not worried about the jQuery aspect... Anyway, the question: can someone show me a working example of that jQuery plugin? I'm having problems making it work... Or, does anyone know of any better alternatives that would work cross browser? Thanks! Update after answers: Thanks everyone for the responses! I tried out the code posted here: http://webreflection.blogspot.com/2009/01/internet-explorer-object-watch.html But I couldn't seem to make it work with IE. The code below works fine in FireFox, but does nothing in IE. In Firefox, each time watcher.status is changed, the document.write in watcher.watch is called and you can see the output on the page. In IE, that doesn't happen, but I can see that watcher.status is updating the value, because the last document.write shows the correct value (in both IE and FF). But, if the callback function isn't called, then that's kind of pointless... :) Am I missing something? var options = {'status': 'no status'}, watcher = createWatcher(options); watcher.watch("status", function(prop, oldValue, newValue) { document.write("old: " + oldValue + ", new: " + newValue + "<br>"); return newValue; }); watcher.status = 'asdf'; watcher.status = '1234'; document.write(watcher.status + "<br>");

  • jQuery error when aborting an ajax call only in Internet Explorer

    - by Rob Crowell
    When mousing over an image in a jcarousel, my site displays a popup whose contents are loaded via ajax. I'm doing what I thought was fairly straightforward; keeping a handle to the xhrRequest object, and aborting the existing one before making a new request. It works great in all browsers except IE, where I receive an error "Object doesn't support this property or method" Here's the code that is triggering it: function showPopup { // ... code snipped ... // cancel the existing xhr request if (showPopup.xhrRequest != null) { showPopup.xhrRequest.abort(); showPopup.xhrRequest = null; } showPopup.xhrRequest = $.ajax({url: url, type: "GET", success:function(data) { $("#popup-content").html(data); } }); // ... code snipped ... } showPopup.xhrRequest = null; Works great in Firefox and Chrome. I traced the error down to this bit of code in jquery.js inside the ajax function (line 5233 in my copy of jQuery): // Override the abort handler, if we can (IE doesn't allow it, but that's OK) // Opera doesn't fire onreadystatechange at all on abort try { var oldAbort = xhr.abort; xhr.abort = function() { if (xhr ) { oldAbort.call( xhr ); } onreadystatechange( "abort" ); } catch(e) { } The specific error occurs on the oldAbort.call( xhr ) line. Any ideas?

  • jQuery Tablesorter - column not sorting alphabetically

    - by McGirl
    I'm not sure what's going wrong here. This is the page: http://www.utexas.edu/ssw/cswr/projects/project-list/ The first column sorts, but it isn't returning data in the correct order (alphabetical). The table itself is being generated by a custom PHP function that pulls info from a WordPress database. I thought that might be the issue, but as you can see the fourth column (End Date) sorts correctly. I also thought it might be the links in the first column that were messing things up, but adding the text-extraction code from this page broke the sorting altogether. This is the jQuery code I'm current using to call Tablesorter: <script type="text/javascript" id="js"> jQuery(document).ready(function($) { $(document).ready(function() { // call the tablesorter plugin, the magic happens in the markup $("#projectTable").tablesorter({ // pass the headers argument and assing a object //debug: true, //sortList: [[0,0]], headers: { 0: { // set the column to sort as text sorter: 'text', }, // assign the secound column (we start counting zero) 1: { // disable it by setting the property sorter to false sorter: false, }, // assign the third column (we start counting zero) 2: { // disable it by setting the property sorter to false sorter: false }, 3: { sorter:'digit' } } }); // Works only with plugin modification $("#projectTable").bind("sortStart",function(e) { if( $(e.target).hasClass('header') ) { $("#overlay").show(); } }).bind("sortEnd",function(e) { if( $(e.target).hasClass('header') ) { $("#overlay").hide(); } }); }); }); </script> Thanks for your help!

  • Fading out an article and dropping down a form at the same time?

    - by eveo
    I have an article: <article> Some paragraphs. </article> Below that I have my contact: <div id="contact"> stuff, this form is 600 px tall </div> contact is set to display:none;. I use jQuery to toggle it. What I'm trying to do is modify this script from http://tutsplus.com/lesson/slides-and-structure/ so that it fades out the article text and then slides in the contact form. Having some trouble. Code: <script> (function() { $('html').addClass('js'); var contactForm = { container: $('#contact'), article: $('article'), init: function() { $('<button></button>', { text: 'Contact Me' }) .insertAfter('article:first') .on('click', function() { console.log(this); this.show(); // contactForm.article.fadeToggle(300); // contactForm.container.show(); }) }, show: function() { contactForm.close.call(contactForm.container); contactForm.container.slideToggle(300); }, close: function() { console.log(this); $('<span class=close>X</span>') .prependTo(this) .on('click', function(){ contactForm.article.fadeToggle(300); contactForm.container.slideToggle(300); }) } }; contactForm.init(); })(); </script> The part that is not working is: .on('click', function() { console.log(this); this.show(); // contactForm.article.fadeToggle(300); // contactForm.container.show(); }) When I do .on('click', this.show); it works fine, when I put this.show in a function it does not work!

  • PHP script not automatically updating when moved to another server

    - by user32007
    A friend built a ranking system on his site and I am trying to host in on mine via WordPress and Go Daddy. It updates for him but when I load it to my site, it works for 6 hours, but as soon as the reload is supposed to occur, it errors and I get a 500 timeout error. His page is at: jeremynoeljohnson .com/yakezieclub My page is currently at http://sweatingthebigstuff.com/yakezieclub but when you ?reload=1 it will give the error. Any idea why this might be happening? Any settings that I might need to change? Here is the top of the index.php file. I'm not sure which part of any of it is messing up. I literally uploaded the same code as him. Here's the reload part: $cachefile = "rankings.html"; $daycachefile = "rankings_history.xml"; $cachetime = (60 * 60) * 6; // every 6 hours, the cache refreshes $daycachetime = (60 * 60) * 24; // every 24 hours, the history will be written to // - or whenever the page is requested after 24 hours has passed $writenewdata = false; if (!empty($_GET['reload'])) { if ($_GET['reload']== 1) { $cachetime = 1; } } if (!empty($_GET['reloadhistory'])) { if ($_GET['reloadhistory'] == 1) { $daycachetime = 1; $cachetime = 1; } } if (file_exists($daycachefile) && (time() - $daycachetime < filemtime($daycachefile))) { // Do nothing } else { $writenewdata = true; $cachetime = 1; } // Serve from the cache if it is younger than $cachetime if (file_exists($cachefile) && (time() - $cachetime < filemtime($cachefile))) { include($cachefile); echo "<!-- Cached ".date('jS F Y H:i', filemtime($cachefile))." -->"; exit; } ob_start(); // start the output buffer ?>

  • Javascript permission denied - different port

    - by Grnbeagle
    Hi, I have a rails app running on port 3000. The page in question has an iframe and I need to resize it depending on the height of the content loaded in the iframe. <iframe id="ifrm_col3" name="ifrm_col3" frameborder="0" src="<%=invite_path(@invite.alias)%>" onload="util.resize_iframe('ifrm_col3');"></iframe> The resize function is here: util.resize_iframe = function(frame_id) { var h = document.getElementById(frame_id).contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight; document.getElementById(frame_id).height = h; } After the iframe loads, I see this error in FireBug: Error: Permission denied for <http://192.168.0.157> to get property Window.document from <http://192.168.0.157:3000>. Source File: http://192.168.0.157:3000/javascripts/application.js?1268327481 Line: 84 The src of iframe is a relative path, but I'm not sure why the port info from the parent page is not retained. Is there any workaround to this problem? I tried creating a function in the parent page and calling it from the iframe, but ran into the same issue. Due to extra features in the site, I need to stick to port 3000 for the rails app. Any suggestion is appreciated.

  • Problem with Railscast #197 - Nested Model Form Part 2

    - by sscirrus
    I'm trying to implement Ryan's Railscast #197 in a system with Questions, Answers, and (multiple choice) Options. http://railscasts.com/episodes/197-nested-model-form-part-2. I have successfully implemented the nesting among these forms/partials. The simpler 'check box' way to delete records works properly. The problem occurs when I try to add/delete records. I have copied the code exactly as it appears in his Railscast: #new.html.erb <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults, :cache => true %> <% f.fields_for :in_options do |builder| %> <%= render "option_fields", :f => builder %> <% end %> #_option_fields.html.erb partial <%= f.hidden_field :_destroy %> <%= link_to_function "remove", "remove_fields(this)" %> #application_helper.rb (exact same as #197) def link_to_remove_fields(name, f) f.hidden_field(:_destroy) + link_to_function(name, "remove_fields(this)") end def link_to_add_fields(name, f, association) new_object = f.object.class.reflect_on_association(association).klass.new fields = f.fields_for(association, new_object, :child_index => "new_#{association}") do |builder| render(association.to_s.singularize + "_fields", :f => builder) end link_to_function(name, h("add_fields(this, \"#{association}\", \"#{escape_javascript(fields)}\")")) end #application.js (exact same as #197. I have an Event.addbehavior below this code.) function remove_fields(link) { $(link).previous("input[type=hidden]").value = "1"; $(link).up(".fields").hide(); } function add_fields(link, association, content) { var new_id = new Date().getTime(); var regexp = new RegExp("new_" + association, "g") $(link).up().insert({ before: content.replace(regexp, new_id) }); } 2 problems: When I click on the 'remove' link it doesn't remove - it just shifts the page up or down. When I include link_to_add_fields "Add Answer", f, :answers, I get undefined method `klass' for nil:NilClass. Thanks everyone.

  • javascript onmouseover hide a div block

    - by Loki
    SO this is my code so far: JS: <script type="text/javascript"> function Hide(srcField) { var x = srcField.getAttribute('name'); var string = new RegExp("hide_ID",'gi'); switch (x) { case "1": var dataRows= document.getElementsByID("obrazovanje"); alert (dataRows[0].innerHTML); dataRows[0].className.replace('',string); break; case "2": var dataRows= document.getElementsByID("rad_iskustvo"); dataRows[0].className.replace('',string); break; case "3": var dataRows= document.getElementsByID("strani_jezici"); dataRows[0].className.replace('',string); break; case "4": var dataRows= document.getElementsByID("znanja_vjestine"); dataRows[0].className.replace('',string); break; case "5": var dataRows= document.getElementsByID("osobine_interesi"); dataRows[0].className.replace('',string); break; } } </script> CSS: .hide_ID, { display:none } HTML: <a name="1"><h4><span name="1" onmouseover="Hide(this)">OBRAZOVANJE:</span></h4></a> <div ID="obrazovanje"> <ul> <li>2001.-2005. elektrotehnicar</li> <li>2009.-2012. racunarstvo</li> </ul> </div> the idea is that i want to hide the div block when i hover over the title that's in h4, but it doesn't seem to hide it... any ideas? i started using replace but it still didn't work, before that it was just 'dataRows[0].className = "hide_ID"' but that didn't work either.

  • ios 4.1 doesn't call Phonegap API

    - by Johannes Klauß
    I'm working on a cross platform app for Android 2.2 and iOS 4.1 (dev devices). On Android everything works fine (accelerometer and geolocation) even if it's a little laggy. On iOS it's way more smooth, but he doesn't call the Phonegap functions. That's my JS code: var watchID = null; var shaking = { left: false, right: true }; function startWatch() { // Update acceleration every 100 ms var options = { frequency : 100 }; watchID = navigator.accelerometer.watchAcceleration(function(acceleration) { if(acceleration.x < -8) { shaking.left = true; } else if(acceleration.x > 8) { shaking.right = true; } if(shaking.left && shaking.right) { navigator.notification.vibrate(500); shaking.left = false; shaking.right = false; stopWatch(); } }, null, options); } I just call it with <a href="" onclick="startWatch();">start Accel</a> But iOS doesn't react at all. Is there any special call you need to do in iOS?

  • Hotkey to toggle checkboxes does opposite

    - by Joel Harris
    In this jsFiddle, I have a table with checkboxes in the first column. The master checkbox in the table header functions as expected toggling the state of all the checkboxes in the table when it is clicked. I have set up a hotkey for "shift-x" to toggle the master checkbox. The desired behavior when using the hotkey is: The master checkbox is toggled The child checkboxes each have their checked state set to match the master But what is actually happening is the opposite... The child checkboxes each have their checked state set to match the master The master checkbox is toggled Here is the relevant code $(".master-select").click(function(){ $(this).closest("table").find("tbody .row-select").prop('checked', this.checked); }); function tickAllCheckboxes() { var master = $(".master-select").click(); } //using jquery.hotkeys.js to assign hotkey $(document).bind('keydown', 'shift+x', tickAllCheckboxes); This results in the child checkboxes having the opposite checked state of the master checkbox. Why is that happening? A fix would be nice, but I'm really after an explanation so I can understand what is happening.

  • Jquery set tr with empty td lower than with text in td

    - by PavelBY
    I have html, and jquery for sorting my table (also there is non-standart sorting (with multi-tbody)). My code could be found here: http://jsfiddle.net/GuRxj/ As you can see there, td with prices (on russian ????) are sorted ascending (but tech-as not!? why? (it a question too))... But as you see, i need to send this tr's with prices to top of this tbody (now there are in the bottom), while empty-price-tr send to bottom... How to do this? part of js: $('.prcol').click(function(e) { var $sort = this; var $table = $('#articles-table'); var $rows = $('tbody.analogs_art > tr',$table); $rows.sort(function(a, b){ var keyA = $('td:eq(3)',a).text(); var keyB = $('td:eq(3)',b).text(); if (keyA.length > 0 && keyB.length > 0) { if($($sort).hasClass('asc')){ console.log("bbb"); return (keyA > keyB) ? 1 : 0; } else { console.log(keyA+"-"+keyB); return (keyA > keyB) ? 1 : 0; } } }); $.each($rows, function(index, row){ //console.log(row); $table.append(row); //$("table.123").append(row); }); e.preventDefault(); });

  • Cancel page forward/back hotkeys in Firefox with Greasemonkey

    - by Stimulating Pixels
    First the background: In Firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 when entering text into a standard the hotkey combination of Command+LeftArrow and Command+RightArrow jump the cursor to the start/end of the current line, respectively. However, when using CKEditor, FCKEditor and YUI Editor, Firefox does not seem to completely recognize that it's a text area. Instead, it drops back to the default function for those hotkeys which is to move back/forward in the browser history. After this occurs, the text in the editor is also cleared when you return to the page making it very easy to loose whatever is being worked on. I'm attempting to write a greasemonkey script that I can use to capture the events and prevent the page forward/back jumps from being executed. So far, I've been able to see the events with the following used as a .user.js script in GreaseMonkey: document.addEventListener('keypress', function (evt) { // grab the meta key var isCmd = evt.metaKey; // check to see if it is pressed if(isCmd) { // if so, grab the key code; var kCode = evt.keyCode; if(kCode == 37 || kCode == 39) { alert(kCode); } } }, false ); When installed/enabled, pressing command+left|right arrow key pops an alert with the respective code, but as soon as the dialog box is closed, the browser executes the page forward/back move. I tried setting a new code with evt.keyCode = 0, but that didn't work. So, the question is, can this Greasemonkey script be updated so that it prevents the back/forward page moves? (NOTE: I'm open to other solutions as well. Doesn't have to be Greasemonkey, that's just the direction I've tried. The real goal is to be able to disable the forward/back hotkey functionality.)
