  • Sort MySQL result set using comparison between 2 columns of same value type

    - by Kyobul
    Hello, I have a table containing last_updated_1 and last_updated_2 columns, used respectively for text and images update time on a post. I wish I could get a result set of 10 rows based on all time last updated records contained in the 2 columns, ex. row 1 = last_updated_1 record, row 2 = last_updated_2 record, row 3 = last_updated_1 record, etc. How could I compare inside a MySQL query the both columns values, to get unique & mixed result set ? Thank you in advance for your help

  • boost::function & boost::lambda - call site invocation & accessing _1 and _2 as the type

    - by John Dibling
    Sorry for the confusing title. Let me explain via code: #include <string> #include <boost\function.hpp> #include <boost\lambda\lambda.hpp> #include <iostream> int main() { using namespace boost::lambda; boost::function<std::string(std::string, std::string)> f = _1.append(_2); std::string s = f("Hello", "There"); std::cout << s; return 0; } I'm trying to use function to create a function that uses the labda expressions to create a new return value, and invoke that function at the call site, s = f("Hello", "There"); When I compile this, I get: 1>------ Build started: Project: hacks, Configuration: Debug x64 ------ 1>Compiling... 1>main.cpp 1>.\main.cpp(11) : error C2039: 'append' : is not a member of 'boost::lambda::lambda_functor<T>' 1> with 1> [ 1> T=boost::lambda::placeholder<1> 1> ] Using MSVC 9. My fundamental understanding of function and lambdas may be lacking. The tutorials and docs did not help so far this morning. How do I do what I'm trying to do?

  • C# determining generic type

    - by Chris Klepeis
    I have several templated objects that all implement the same interface: I.E. MyObject<datatype1> obj1; MyObject<datatype2> obj2; MyObject<datatype3> obj3; I want to store these objects in a List... I think I would do that like this: private List<MyObject<object>> _myList; I then want to create a function that takes 1 parameter, being a datatype, to see if an object using that datatype exists in my list.... sorta clueless how to go about this. In Pseudo code it would be: public bool Exist(DataType T) { return (does _myList contain a MyObject<T>?); }

  • How do you find out what element type the root element is with jquery

    - by user363873
    I'm sending an ajax request that will either give me an error or a userID <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <error>1000</error> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <userID>8</userID> how can I find out if the root element is error or userID using jquery or just javascript in general. Using the find method doesn't appear to work if what you're trying to access is the root element

  • jQuery .find() doesn't return data in IE but does in Firefox and Chrome

    - by Steve Hiner
    I helped a friend out by doing a little web work for him. Part of what he needed was an easy way to change a couple pieces of text on his site. Rather than having him edit the HTML I decided to provide an XML file with the messages in it and I used jQuery to pull them out of the file and insert them into the page. It works great... In Firefox and Chrome, not so great in IE7. I was hoping one of you could tell me why. I did a fair but of googling but couldn't find what I'm looking for. Here's the XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <messages> <message type="HeaderMessage"> This message is put up in the header area. </message> <message type="FooterMessage"> This message is put in the lower left cell. </message> </messages> And here's my jQuery call: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $.get('messages.xml', function(d) { //I have confirmed that it gets to here in IE //and it has the xml loaded. //alert(d); gives me a message box with the xml text in it //alert($(d).find('message')); gives me "[object Object]" //alert($(d).find('message')[0]); gives me "undefined" //alert($(d).find('message').Length); gives me "undefined" $(d).find('message').each(function() { //But it never gets to here in IE var $msg = $(this); var type = $msg.attr("type"); var message = $msg.text(); switch (type) { case "HeaderMessage": $("#HeaderMessageDiv").html(message); break; case "FooterMessage": $("#footermessagecell").html(message); break; default: } }); }); }); </script> Is there something I need to do differently in IE? Based on the message box with [object Object] I'm assumed that .find was working in IE but since I can't index into the array with [0] or check it's Length I'm guessing that means .find isn't returning any results. Any reason why that would work perfectly in Firefox and Chrome but fail in IE? I'm a total newbie with jQuery so I hope I haven't just done something stupid. That code above was scraped out of a forum and modified to suit my needs. Since jQuery is cross-platform I figured I wouldn't have to deal with this mess. Edit: I've found that if I load the page in Visual Studio 2008 and run it then it will work in IE. So it turns out it always works when run through the development web server. Now I'm thinking IE just doesn't like doing .find in XML loaded off of my local drive so maybe when this is on an actual web server it will work OK. I have confirmed that it works fine when browsed from a web server. Must be a peculiarity with IE. I'm guessing it's because the web server sets the mime type for the xml data file transfer and without that IE doesn't parse the xml correctly.

  • Type casting int into double C++

    - by user1705380
    I am new to programming and this might be an obvious question, though i cannot for life of me figure out why my program is not returning as a double. I am suppose to write a stocks program that takes in shares of stock, whole dollar portion of price and the fraction portion. And the fraction portion is to be inputted as two int values, and include a function definition with 3 int values.The function returns the price as a double. #include <iostream> using namespace std; int price(int, int, int); int main() { int dollars, numerator, denominator, price1, shares; char ans; do { cout<<"Enter the stock price and the number of shares.\n"; cout<<"Enter the price and integers: Dollars, numerator, denominator\n"; cin>>dollars>>numerator>>denominator; cout<<"Enter the number of shares held\n"; cin>>shares; cout<<shares; price1 = price(dollars,numerator,denominator); cout<<" shares of stock with market price of "; cout<< dollars << " " << numerator<<'/'<<denominator<<endl; cout<<"have a value of " << shares * price1<<endl; cout<<"Enter either Y/y to continue"; cin>>ans; }while (ans == 'Y' || ans == 'y'); system("pause"); return 0; } int price(int dollars, int numerator, int denominator) { return dollars + numerator/static_cast<double>(denominator); }

  • Importing old mysql data folder

    - by samgoody
    After a reinstall, all of the old data still shows inside the MySQL/data folder, but is not actually loaded into the database. Is there any way to have MySQL scan it's data folder and / or reimport the old folders it has from its previous install? [Some data was changed after the last backup / export - partially my fault - so I would rather it recognize the folders rather than reimporting the SQL files.]

  • c++ template and its element type

    - by David
    This is my template matrix class: template<typename T> class Matrix { public: .... Matrix<T> operator / (const T &num); } However, in my Pixel class, I didn't define the Pixel/Pixel operator at all! Why in this case, the compiler still compiles?

  • C++: How to require that one template type is derived from the other

    - by Will
    In a comparison operator: template<class R1, class R2> bool operator==(Manager<R1> m1, Manager<R2> m2) { return m1.internal_field == m2.internal_field; } Is there any way I could enforce that R1 and R2 must have a supertype or subtype relation? That is, I'd like to allow either R1 to be derived from R2, or R2 to be derived from R1, but disallow the comparison if R1 and R2 are unrelated types.

  • Map a property in the entity framework to a different type

    - by Tom
    I have a SQL Server 2008 database. I have a bunch of fields in TableA that are just strings that corresponds to booleans. So every value is either true or false. The edmx I generated using Entity Framework 4.0 has them as strings. This is technically correct but I would like to have them mapped as Booleans instead. Is this possible? If so how can I accomplish this? Thanks much!

  • JavaScript not changing display type or color in IE

    - by user445359
    I am trying to switch a series of blocks between "none" and "block" based on the OnMouseOver property and to change the title of the selected list to yellow at the same time. The JavaScript code I have for this is: function switchCat(cat) { var uls = document.getElementsByClassName('lower-ul'); var titles = document.getElementsByClassName('lower-cat-title'); for (var i=0;i<uls.length;i++) { uls[i].style.display = 'none'; titles[i].style.color = 'white'; } if (cat != -1) { var wanted = document.getElementById('lower-cat-'+cat); var wantedTitle = document.getElementById('lower-cat-title-'+cat); wanted.style.display = 'block'; wantedTitle.style.color = 'yellow'; } } It works with Chrome, Opera, and Firefox, however, it does not work with IE. When I test it in IE I get the error "Object doesn't support this property or method." Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

What is the best way of getting the MethodInfo for the missing method? Thanks

  • Allowing user to type only one "."

    - by Tartar
    I am trying to implement a simple javascript-html calculator. What i want to do is,typing only one '.' by the user. How can i control this ? Here is the code that i tried. I can already find the number of '.' but i'am confused now also this replaceAll function is not replacing '.' with empty string. String.prototype.replaceAll = function(search, replace) { //if replace is null, return original string otherwise it will //replace search string with 'undefined'. if(!replace) return this; return this.replace(new RegExp('[' + search + ']', 'g'), replace); }; function calculate(){ var value = document.calculator.text.value; var valueArray = value.split(""); var arrayLenght = valueArray.length; var character = "."; var charCount = 0; for(i=0;i<arrayLenght;i++){ if (valueArray[i]===character) { charCount += 1; } } if(charCount>1){ var newValue=value.replaceAll(".",""); alert(newValue); } }
