  • Get the full URI from the href property of a link

    - by Savageman
    Hello SO, I would like to have a confirmation on some point. My goal is to always get the same string (which is the URI in my case) while reading the href property from a link. Example: <a href="test.htm" /> with base_url = http://domain.name/ <a href="../test.htm" /> with base_url = http://domain.name/domain/ <a href="http://domain.name/test.htm" /> with base_url = any folder from http://domain.name/ I need to get http://domain.name/test.htm from the 3 situations above (or any other identical string). After some tests, it appears that my_a_dom_node.href always return the full-qualified URI, including the http://domaine.name, which should be okay for what I want. jQuery has a different behaviour and $(my_a_dom_node).attr('href') returns the content (text) that appears inside the HTML. So my trick is to use $(my_a_dom_node).get(0).href to get the full URI. The question is: can I rely on this?

  • Execution time of ALTER COLUMN

    - by Tommy Jakobsen
    Having a table with 60 columns, and 200 rows. Altering a BIT column from NULL to NOT NULL, now has a running execution time of over 3 hours. Why is this taking so long? This is the query that I'm execution: ALTER TABLE tbl ALTER COLUMN col BIT NOT NULL Is there a faster way to do it, besides creating a new column, updating it with values from the old column, then dropping the old column and renaming the new one? This is on MS SQL Server 2005.

  • getting all contacts (including from other syncAdapters) in android content handler.

    - by eyal
    Hi i have this Query: private Cursor getContacts(CharSequence constraint) { boolean hasConstrains = constraint != null && constraint.length() != 0; Uri uri = ContactsContract.Contacts.CONTENT_URI; String[] projection = new String[]{ContactsContract.Contacts._ID, ContactsContract.Contacts.DISPLAY_NAME }; String selection = hasConstrains ? projection[1] + " LIKE '"+constraint+"%'" : null; String[] selectionArgs = null; String sortOrder = ContactsContract.Contacts.DISPLAY_NAME + " ASC"; return managedQuery(uri, projection, selection, selectionArgs, sortOrder); } The first time issue it i give null as parameter to the function to the selection parameter is empty, meaning i don't filter any rows. The problem is i get only contacts i created myself using no syncAdapter. I used facebook app to synch my facebook contacts, but this query doesn't return them. I extracted the contacts2.db from the emulator and the view_contacts view shows me all the contacts, so the DB is updated. What should i do to get all the contacts regardless of how they were created (with which synch adapter)

  • Building a python module and linking it against a MacOSX framework

    - by madflo
    I'm trying to build a Python extension on MacOSX 10.6 and to link it against several frameworks (i386 only). I made a setup.py file, using distutils and the Extension object. I order to link against my frameworks, my LDFLAGS env var should look like : LDFLAGS = -lc -arch i386 -framework fwk1 -framework fwk2 As I did not find any 'framework' keyword in the Extension module documentation, I used the extra_link_args keyword instead. Extension('test', define_macros = [('MAJOR_VERSION', '1'), ,('MINOR_VERSION', '0')], include_dirs = ['/usr/local/include', 'include/', 'include/vitale'], extra_link_args = ['-arch i386', '-framework fwk1', '-framework fwk2'], sources = "testmodule.cpp", language = 'c++' ) Everything is compiling and linking fine. If I remove the -framework line from the extra_link_args, my linker fails, as expected. Here is the last two lines produced by a python setup.py build : /usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -isysroot / -L/opt/local/lib -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -bundle -undefined dynamic_lookup build/temp.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/testmodule.o -o build/lib.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/test.so -arch i386 -framework sgdosx -framework srtosx -framework ssvosx -framework stsosx Unfortunately, the .so that I just produced is unable to find several symbols provided by this framework. I tried to check the linked framework with otool. None of them is appearing. $ otool -L test.so test.so: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) There is the output of otool run on a test binary, made with g++ and ldd using the LDFLAGS described at the top of my post. On this example, the -framework did work. $ otool -L vitaosx vitaosx: /Library/Frameworks/sgdosx.framework/Versions/A/sgdosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /Library/Frameworks/ssvosx.framework/Versions/A/ssvosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) May this issue be linked to the "-undefined dynamic_lookup" flag on the linking step ? I'm a little bit confused by the few lines of documentation that I'm finding on Google. Cheers,

  • Why do I get extra, unexpected results with my ack regex?

    - by Gauthier
    I'm finally learning regexps and training with ack. I believe this uses Perl regexp. I want to match all lines where the first non-blank characters are if (<word> !, with any number of spaces in between the elements. This is what I came up with: ^[ \t]*if *\(\w+ *! It only nearly worked. ^[ \t]* is wrong, since it matches one or none [space or tab]. What I want is to match anything that may contain only space or tab (or nothing). For example these should not match: // if (asdf != 0) else if (asdf != 1) How can I modify my regexp for that? EDIT adding command line ack -i --group -a '^\s*if *\(\w+ *!' c:/work/proj/proj Note the single quotes, I'm not so sure about them anymore. My search base is a larger code base. It does include matching expressions (quite some), but even for example: 274: }else if (y != 0) , which I get as a result of the above command. EDIT adding the result of mobrule's test Mobrule, thanks for providing me a text to test on. I'll copy here what I get on my prompt: C:\Temp\regex>more ack.test # ack.test if (asdf != 0) # no spaces - ok if (asdf != 0) # single space - ok if (asdf != 0) # single tab - ok if (asdf != 0) # multiple space - ok if (asdf != 0) # multiple tab - ok if (asdf != 0) # spaces + tab ok if (asdf != 0) # tab + space ok if (asdf != 0) # space + tab + space ok // if (asdf != 0) # not ok } else if (asdf != 0) # not ok C:\Temp\regex>ack '^[ \t]*if *\(\w+ *!' ack.test C:\Temp\regex>"C:\Program\git\bin\perl.exe" C:\bat\ack.pl '[ \t]*if *\(\w+ *!' a ck.test if (asdf != 0) # no spaces - ok if (asdf != 0) # single space - ok if (asdf != 0) # single tab - ok if (asdf != 0) # multiple space - ok if (asdf != 0) # multiple tab - ok if (asdf != 0) # spaces + tab ok if (asdf != 0) # tab + space ok if (asdf != 0) # space + tab + space ok // if (asdf != 0) # not ok } else if (asdf != 0) # not ok The problem is in my call to my ack.bat! ack.bat contains: "C:\Program\git\bin\perl.exe" C:\bat\ack.pl %* Although I call with a caret, it gets away at the call of the bat file! Escaping the caret with ^^ does not work. Quoting the regex with " " instead of ' ' works. My problem was a DOS/win problem, sorry for bothering you all for that.

  • Rails eager loading

    - by Dimitar Vouldjeff
    HI, I have a Test model, which has_many questions, and Question, which has_many answers... When I make a query for a Test with :include = [:questions, {:questions = :answers}] ActiveRecord makes two more queries to fetch the questions and then to fetch the answers - it doesn`t join them!!! When I do the query with :joins ActiveRecord makes the query, but later when I need the Test.questions or Test.questions.answers ActiveRecord makes again those 2 extra queries!!! And later when I enumerate the questions or answers in the log I see other queries for each object, but it has Cache tag... Is this normal?

  • How to embedd cgi in html

    - by neversaint
    I have no problem executing a cgi file under the normal url like this: http://www.myhost.com/mydir/cgi-bin/test.cgi However when I tried to embedd it into HTML file (called index.html) like this: <HTML> <BODY> <P>Here's the output from my program: <FORM ACTION="/var/www/mydir/cgi-bin/test.cgi" METHOD=POST> </FORM> </P> </BODY> </HTML> The CGI doesn't get executed when I do: http://www.myhost.com/mydir/index.html The CGI file (test.cgi) simply looks like this: #!/usr/bin/perl -wT use CGI::Carp qw(fatalsToBrowser); print "Test cgi!\n"; What's the right way to do it?

  • Can you notice what's wrong with my PHP or MYSQL code?

    - by Jenna
    I am trying to create a category menu with sub categories. I have the following MySQL table: -- -- Table structure for table `categories` -- CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `categories` ( `ID` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` varchar(1000) NOT NULL, `slug` varchar(1000) NOT NULL, `parent` int(11) NOT NULL, `type` varchar(255) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`ID`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=66 ; -- -- Dumping data for table `categories` -- INSERT INTO `categories` (`ID`, `name`, `slug`, `parent`, `type`) VALUES (63, 'Party', '/category/party/', 0, ''), (62, 'Kitchen', '/category/kitchen/', 61, 'sub'), (59, 'Animals', '/category/animals/', 0, ''), (64, 'Pets', '/category/pets/', 59, 'sub'), (61, 'Rooms', '/category/rooms/', 0, ''), (65, 'Zoo Creatures', '/category/zoo-creatures/', 59, 'sub'); And the following PHP: <?php include("connect.php"); echo "<ul>"; $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM categories"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $catId = $row['id']; $catName = $row['name']; $catSlug = $row['slug']; $parent = $row['parent']; $type = $row['type']; if ($type == "sub") { $select = mysql_query("SELECT name FROM categories WHERE ID = $parent"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($select)) { $parentName = $row['name']; } echo "<li>$parentName >> $catName</li>"; } else if ($type == "") { echo "<li>$catName</li>"; } } echo "</ul>"; ?> Now Here's the Problem, It displays this: * Party * Rooms >> Kitchen * Animals * Animals >> Pets * Rooms * Animals >> Zoo Creatures I want it to display this: * Party * Rooms >> Kitchen * Animals >> Pets >> Zoo Creatures Is there something wrong with my loop? I just can't figure it out.

  • running jython bytecode using java

    - by noamtm
    It looks like I'm missing something. When using Jython to run my Python code in Java, Java bytecode files are generated (test.py - [email protected]). Can I run these classes directly using java? In other words, I want to make this: $ java test@py [additional cp args] work. The intent: writing Python code and not having to give away source code.

  • PHP Scope Resolution Operator Question

    - by anthony
    I'm having trouble with the MyClass::function(); style of calling methods and can't figure out why. Here's an example (I'm using Kohana framework btw): class Test_Core { public $var1 = "lots of testing"; public function output() { $print_out = $this->var1; echo $print_out; } } I try to use the following to call it, but it returns $var1 as undefined: Test::output() However, this works fine: $test = new Test(); $test->output(); I generally use this style of calling objects as opposed to the "new Class" style, but I can't figure out why it doesn't want to work.

  • Unit Testing Codeigniter Classes with fooStack - clashes

    - by DrPep
    I'm having 'fun' testing interactions in a CodeIgniter based web app. It seems when running the entire test suite "phpunit AllTests.php" it loads all of the test classes, their targets (Systems under Test) and creates a PHPUnit_Framework_TestSuite instance which presumably iterates over the classes which extend CIUnit_TestCase and runs them. The problem comes where you have multiple classes referencing another class (such as a library). As all the classes are loaded into the same process space, PHP reports "cannot redefine class xyz". Have I missed something here or doing something haenously wrong? In my test class i'm doing something like: include_once dirname(__FILE__).'/../CIUnit.php'; include_once dirname(__FILE__).'/../../libraries/ProductsService.php'; class testProductsService extends CIUnit_TestCase { public function testGetProducts_ReturnsArrayOfProducts(){ $service = new ProductsService(); $products = $service->getProducts(); $this->assertTrue(is_array($products)); } } The problem manifests as I have a controller which does: $this->load->library('ProductsService');

  • Raw XML Push from input stream captures only the first line of XML

    - by pqsk
    I'm trying to read XML that is being pushed to my java app. I originally had this in my glassfish server working. The working code in glassfish is as follows: public class XMLPush implements Serializable { public void processXML() { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); BufferedReader br = null; try { br = ((HttpServletRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest()).getReader (); String s = null; while((s = br.readLine ()) != null) { sb.append ( s ); } //other code to process xml ........... ............................. }catch(Exception ex) { XMLCreator.exceptionOutput ( "processXML","Exception",ex); } .... ..... }//processXML }//class It works perfect, but my client is unable to have glassfish on their server. I tried grabbing the raw xml from php, but I couldn't get it to work. I decided to open up a socket and listen for the xml push manually. Here is my code for receiving the push: public class ListenerService extends Thread { private BufferedReader reader = null; private String line; public ListenerService ( Socket connection )thows Exception { this.reader = new BufferedReader ( new InputStreamReader ( connection.getInputStream () ) ); this.line = null; }//ListenerService @Override public void run () { try { while ( (this.line = this.reader.readLine ()) != null) { System.out.println ( this.line ); ........ }//while } System.out.println ( ex.toString () ); } } catch ( Exception ex ) { ... }//catch }//run I haven't done much socket programing, but from what I read for the past week is that passing the xml into a string is bad. What am I doing wrong and why is it that in glassfish server it works, and when I just open a socket myself it doesn't? this is all that I receive from the push: PUT /?XML_EXPORT_REASON=ResponseLoop&TIMESTAMP=1292559547 HTTP/1.1 Host: ************************ Accept: */* Content-Length: 470346 Expect: 100-continue <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> Where did the xml go? Is it because I am placing it in a string? I just need to grab the xml and save it into a file and then process it. Everything else works, but this.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • ServletContext getResource not working

    - by David
    I'm trying to use ServletContext.getResource to retrieve a java.net.url reference to an image file (which I will then include in a PDF library using iText). When I use ServletContext.getRealPath("picture.jpg"), I get back a string URL. However, getResource always returns null. Example 1: String picture = ServletContext.getRealPath("picture.jpg"); // picture contains a non-null String with the correct path URL pictureURL = ServletContext.getResource(picture); // pictureURL is always null Example 2: URL pictureURL = ServletContext.getResource("picture.jpg"); // pictureURL is always null So what is the correct way to build a java.net.URL object pointing to a file in my webapps folder? Why does getRealPath work but not getResource? In case it helps at all, here is my folder structure webapps - mySite - picture.jpg Does my picture need to be stored in either WEB-INF or WEB-INF/classes to be read by getResource?

  • Why does one loop take longer to detect a shared memory update than another loop?

    - by Joseph Garvin
    I've written a 'server' program that writes to shared memory, and a client program that reads from the memory. The server has different 'channels' that it can be writing to, which are just different linked lists that it's appending items too. The client is interested in some of the linked lists, and wants to read every node that's added to those lists as it comes in, with the minimum latency possible. I have 2 approaches for the client: For each linked list, the client keeps a 'bookmark' pointer to keep its place within the linked list. It round robins the linked lists, iterating through all of them over and over (it loops forever), moving each bookmark one node forward each time if it can. Whether it can is determined by the value of a 'next' member of the node. If it's non-null, then jumping to the next node is safe (the server switches it from null to non-null atomically). This approach works OK, but if there are a lot of lists to iterate over, and only a few of them are receiving updates, the latency gets bad. The server gives each list a unique ID. Each time the server appends an item to a list, it also appends the ID number of the list to a master 'update list'. The client only keeps one bookmark, a bookmark into the update list. It endlessly checks if the bookmark's next pointer is non-null ( while(node->next_ == NULL) {} ), if so moves ahead, reads the ID given, and then processes the new node on the linked list that has that ID. This, in theory, should handle large numbers of lists much better, because the client doesn't have to iterate over all of them each time. When I benchmarked the latency of both approaches (using gettimeofday), to my surprise #2 was terrible. The first approach, for a small number of linked lists, would often be under 20us of latency. The second approach would have small spats of low latencies but often be between 4,000-7,000us! Through inserting gettimeofday's here and there, I've determined that all of the added latency in approach #2 is spent in the loop repeatedly checking if the next pointer is non-null. This is puzzling to me; it's as if the change in one process is taking longer to 'publish' to the second process with the second approach. I assume there's some sort of cache interaction going on I don't understand. What's going on?

  • Why is ContextConfiguration location different in idea and eclipse

    - by jakob
    Hello experts. In my team we work both in Eclipse and Idea. That works pretty good, except for one minor issue that I can't figure out how to solve. When setting the ContextConfiguration location in our tests and running them inside Eclipse everything works like a charm: @Test(groups = { "database" }) @ContextConfiguration(locations = {" file:src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml" }) But in my Idea env I get "could not find applicationContext" error. I need to set the location like this(project name is services): @Test(groups = { "database" }) @ContextConfiguration(locations = {" file:services/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml" }) The project structure is like this: parent.pom with two child poms: services.pom and other.pom. When running the test in the terminal from the service project like this: mvn -Dtest=com.mytest.service.somepackage.TheTest test there are no issues. I guess that since my project structure is parent-with-two-children the need of /service is necessary(The project is created by pointing out the parent pom). Is there a way to fix this? Could you please help me with a solution. thx

  • Access external xml using xslt document function return 401

    - by Ciprian Grosu
    On MOSS2007, I have a webpart that display the content of a xml feed. I use a xslt with parameters for transforamtions. There is a situation when I receive a 401 Authorisation exception. I realize that this happen when a document() function from my xslt try to open an external xml. If I try to open this xml in browser all work ok. I provided my admin credentials to the web part and to the XmlSecureResolver. Same problem. The webpart is on server1 and the xml feed and external xml required by xslt is on server2. • Example: Communication between Activity and Service using Messaging

    - by Lance Lefebure
    I couldn't find any examples of how to send messages between an activity and a service, and spent far too many hours figuring this out. Here is an example project for others to reference. This example allows you to start or stop a service directly, and separately bind/unbind from the service. When the service is running, it increments a number at 10Hz. If the activity is bound to the service, it will display the current value. Data is transferred as an Integer and as a String so you can see how to do that two different ways. There are also buttons in the activity to send messages to the service (changes the increment-by value). • Memcache key generation strategy

    - by Maxim Veksler
    Given function f1 which receives n String arguments, would be considered better random key generation strategy for memcache for the scenario described below ? Our Memcache client does internal md5sum hashing on the keys it gets public class MemcacheClient { public Object get(String key) { String md5 = Md5sum.md5(key) // Talk to memcached to get the Serialization... return memcached(md5); } } First option public static String f1(String s1, String s2, String s3, String s4) { String key = s1 + s2 + s3 + s4; return get(key); } Second option /** * Calculate hash from Strings * * @param objects vararg list of String's * * @return calculated md5sum hash */ public static String stringHash(Object... strings) { if(strings == null) throw new NullPointerException("D'oh! Can't calculate hash for null"); MD5 md5sum = new MD5(); // if(prevHash != null) // md5sum.Update(prevHash); for(int i = 0; i < strings.length; i++) { if(strings[i] != null) { md5sum.Update("_" + strings[i] + "_"); // Convert to String... } else { // If object is null, allow minimum entropy by hashing it's position md5sum.Update("_" + i + "_"); } } return md5sum.asHex(); } public static String f1(String s1, String s2, String s3, String s4) { String key = stringHash(s1, s2, s3, s4); return get(key); } Note that the possible problem with the second option is that we are doing second md5sum (in the memcache client) on an already md5sum'ed digest result. Thanks for reading, Maxim.

  • Something is wrong with this C code to reverse string, but I dont know what ? please help

    - by Harbhag
    Hi all, I am beginnner to programming. I wrote this little program to reverse a string. But if I try to reverse a string which is less than 5 characters long then it gives wrong output. I cant seem to find whats wrong. #include<stdio.h> #include<string.h> int main() { char test[50]; char rtest[50]; int i, j=0; printf("Enter string : "); scanf("%s", test); int max = strlen(test) - 1; for ( i = max; i>=0; i--) { rtest[j] = test[i]; j++; } printf("Reversal is : %s\n", rtest); return 0; }

  • Windows.Networking.EndpointPair constructor parameters

    - by ComFreek
    I want to create a new EndpointPair object: // hostname is a string // port is an integer var endpointPair = new Windows.Networking.EndpointPair(null, null, hostname, port); But I always get this error: 0x800a000d - JavaScript runtime error: Type mismatch I've already tried the following: converting port to a string passing "" instead of null for the first two Parameters. (null should be okay if the documentation here, under the section Remarks, is right) passing no Parameters, but that ends up in an "too few parameters" error message Above all, the documentation about the constructor has been removed (as of September 4, 2012): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/windows.networking.endpointpair.endpointpair.aspx

  • Does this use of Monitor.Wait/Pulse have a race condition?

    - by jw
    I have a simple producer/consumer scenario, where there is only ever a single item being produced/consumed. Also, the producer waits for the worker thread to finish before continuing. I realize that kind of obviates the whole point of multithreading, but please just assume it really needs to be this way (: This code doesn't compile, but I hope you get the idea: // m_data is initially null // This could be called by any number of producer threads simultaneously void SetData(object foo) { lock(x) // Line A { assert(m_data == null); m_data = foo; Monitor.Pulse(x) // Line B while(m_data != null) Monitor.Wait(x) // Line C } } // This is only ever called by a single worker thread void UseData() { lock(x) // Line D { while(m_data == null) Monitor.Wait(x) // Line E // here, do something with m_data m_data = null; Monitor.Pulse(x) // Line F } } Here is the situation that I am not sure about: Suppose many threads call SetData() with different inputs. Only one of them will get inside the lock, and the rest will be blocked on Line A. Suppose the one that got inside the lock sets m_data and makes its way to Line C. Question: Could the Wait() on Line C allow another thread at Line A to obtain the lock and overwrite m_data before the worker thread even gets to it? Supposing that doesn't happen, and the worker thread processes the original m_data, and eventually makes its way to Line F, what happens when that Pulse() goes off? Will only the thread waiting on Line C be able to get the lock? Or will it be competing with all the other threads waiting on Line A as well? Essentially, I want to know if Pulse()/Wait() communicate with each other specially "under the hood" or if they are on the same level with lock(). The solution to these problems, if they exist, is obvious of course - just surround SetData() with another lock - say, lock(y). I'm just curious if it's even an issue to begin with.
