    I am trying to identify the point in time where code completion (autocomplete/intellisense/whatever) was first introduced in IDEs and would appreciate any pointers. By code completion here I mean a feature within the editor that offers methods or suggestions based on the code that was already typed, and I am interested in programming language related completions (not word processor style completion).

I need to store words according to 2 initial letters which is 676 combinations and each word has its number of occurrences (minimal, maximal, average) in text. I'm not sure how the model/schema should look like. There will be a lot of checking whether the keyword was already persisted. I appreciate your suggestions. Edit: I'll be using either mysql or postgresql + spring templates

    I am reading a file that sometimes has chinese and characters of languages other than english. How can I write a regex that only reads english words/letters? should it just be /^[a-zA-Z]+/ ? If I do the above then words like eété will still be picked but I don't want them to be picked: "été".match(/^[a-zA-Z]+/) => #nil good I didnt want that word "eété".match(/^[a-zA-Z]+/) => #not nil tricked into picking something i did not want

  • Converting upper-case string into title-case using Ruby

    Hi, all. I'm trying to convert an all-uppercase string in Ruby into a lower case one, but with each word's first character being upper case. Example: convert "MY STRING HERE" to "My String Here". I know I can use the .downcase method, but that would make everything lower case ("my string here"). I'm scanning all lines in a file and doing this change, so is there a regular expression I can use through ruby to achieve this? Thanks!

    I have a project that involves recording data from a device directly into a sql table. I do very little processing in code before writing to sql server (2008 express by the way) typically i use the sqlhelper class's ExecuteNoneQuery method and pass in a stored proc name and list of parameters that the SP expects. This is very convenient, but i need a much faster way of doing this. Thanks.

    We have a server solution written entirely in unmanaged Visual C++. It contains complicated methods for really heavy data processing. The whole thing contains millions lines of code, so rewritning it all in some other language is not an option.     Good Morning, Say I have an insert statement: Insert INTO tblTest (fieldOne,FieldTwo,fieldThree) VALUES ('valueOne','valueTwo','null') This statement doesn't seem to want to insert a null value into the database... I have also tried to insert the word "nothing". Has anyone any ideas how to make this work? I am using SQL server 2005.

    Anyone know if ffmpeg does asynchronous file io? That is, the input file is read in a separate thread as to avoid io blocking the processing thread? Basically what I want to figure out is whether or not i need to do calls to "av_read_frame" inside a separate thread (to avoid blocking) or if ffmpeg alrdy handles this issue? How might I figure this out? I've tried downloading the ffmpeg source but haven't been able to find anything useful.
