• WPF: Apply ScrollBar Style to ListBox Template - Error object cannot be added to border

  Hi, I thought this may be straightforward question but did not find any definitive answer while searching net or SO. I have created scrollbar style (using standard scroll bard template - Blend 2) I am not sure how to apply this style "MyScrollStyle" to a ListBox Template . I saw on ListBox template they have Scroll Viewer -- which should contain the scrollbar Assuming it is something simple as ---Content Added--- After going through lot of xaml in template edit I kind of understood how to apply style. • FNhibernate, GeneratedBy.HiLo, hibernate_unique_key etc.

  Hi, I have started using the s#arp architecture which uses FNhibernate and GeneratedBy.HiLo to generate primary keys (there is also table hibernate_unique_key). Apparently, this is recommended practise and I would like to stick with this. Now to my problem. I have used NHibernate and hbm mapping quite a bit and usually used identity columns for my primary keys. This allowed me to seed the database using SQL. Can I do this with the aforementioned setup (hibernate_unique_key table etc.). I need to do this as SQL insert is much more efficient than using NHibernate + C# to seed the db with a million entities. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Christian

• Using CHDataStructures.framework on iPhone

  Hi, I'm new to iPhone programming and I'm trying to use CHDataStructures in my project. But I'm running into some issues: When I directly try to build it right after download I get the error "Foundation/Foundation.h" no such file or directory. The Active SDK is "Use Base SDK" and the active architecture is x86_64. I believe I should set the Active SDK to the iPhone SDK but it isn't listed there; At some point (I don't remember how) I managed to tweak it and I got the iPhone SDK (simulator) in the active SDK but when I tried to build it I got the following error: "target specifies product type 'com.apple.product-type.framework', but there's no such product type for the 'iphonesimulator' platform"; And now I'm stuck. • Apache Camel ESB for C# and Java EDA

  Hi We are looking at integrating some of our coarse grained business Services using an Event Driven Architecture (EDA) and the server side of these Services (REST) are implemented in both Java and .NET (C#). We originally thought of using RabbitMQ (and AMQP protocol) as a neutral and open means (with good client support in these two languages), but it means having to support another runtime (Erlang) alongside Java and the CLR. We are also looking at Apache qPid as that has a Java broker implementation of the AMQP protocol which might eliminate that concern. Does anyone have any experience of trying to use the richer Apache Camel ESB on top of ActiveMQ to integrate Java and .NET Services in a Pub-Sub EDA manner? Have I missed any other possible suggestions as to a route through this? Thanks

• Visual Studio 2008 maintenance mode - I can't remember my installation source drive letter!!!

  I've searched high and low for this and can't find the answer anywhere. I installed VS2008, but my drive letters are all mapped differently now, and of course I need to add a component to my current installation (VC++). But since I don't know which drive letter it was installed from, and since I don't want to try to figure it out the brute force way, I was hoping that someone here knew how to figure that out. I poked through HKCU and HKLM in the registry, hoping to find the info there, but couldn't. Does anyone know how to get this to work? Right now, I get the error "A selected drive is no longer valid. Please review your installation path settings before continuing with setup".

• How To Create An ASP.NET Designer Host

  I have been asked to build an application where I can drag and drop few WebControls onto the WebPage designer surface. So far I have read some articles on .NET Framework Design-Time architecture, like, MSDN Article: Hosting WinForms Designers, Developer Function Article etc. But I can't a find a way to host WebForms designer. The only open source implementation that I could find was Mono Develop ASP.NET Visual Designer. But in mono they have used GTK# & Gecko etc to host the designer. I can't find a way to do the same using WinForms. Please suggest me what should I do. Give me some pointers. Should I go ahead and implement it using GTK# and Gecko? PS: My requirement is not very huge. I need just a way to drag and drop simple web controls and save the page.

• Remote EJB lookup issue with WebSphere 6.1

  I've seen this question asked before, but I've tried various solutions proposed, to no avail. Essentially, I have two EJB enterprise applications, that need to communicate with one another. The first is a web application, the second is a search server - they are located on different development servers, not in the same node, cell, or JVM, although they are on the same physical box. I'm doing the JNDI lookup via IIOP, and the URL I am using is as follows: iiop://searchserver:2819 In my hosts file, I've set searchserver to 127.0.0.1. The ports for my search server are bound to this hostname too. However, when the web app (that uses Spring btw) attempts to lookup the search EJB, it fails with the following error. This is driving me nuts, surely this kind of comms between the servers should be fairly simple to get working. I've checked the ports and they are correct. I note that the exception says the initial context is H00723Node03Cell/nodes/H00723Node03/servers/server1, name: ejb/com/hmv/dataaccess/ejb/hmvsearch/HMVSearchHome. This is the web apps server NOT the search server. Is this correct? How can I get Spring to use the right context? • Unit Tests in Visual Studio 2010

  Hi, i am trying to create a Unit test for a WinForm in a Visual Studio 2010 project. I add a new "Coded UI Test" to my project, open up the code file, then right click and select "Generate Code for Coded UI Test" - "Use Coded UI Test builder". I then start my application up, select "Record" on the UI Map control. I run my tests (in this case simply select a textbox, type in a random value, them click a button). I then select "Generate Code" from the UI Map control which generates the code which the test will use. When running this test, i get the error: Test method HelloWorldTest.CodedUITest1.CodedUITestMethod1 threw exception: Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.UITestControlNotFoundException: The playback failed to find the control with the given search properties. Additional Details: TechnologyName: 'MSAA' ControlType: 'Window' Name: 'Form1' ClassName: 'WindowsForms10.Window' --- System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. • Breakpoints not working in Delphi 6 DirectShow source filter

  I'm trying to debug my DirectShow source filter. I'm using Delphi Pro 6 on Windows XP along with the DSPACK component library. I'm using Skype as my host application, which I set in the Parameters option in the Run menu, for testing my source filter DLL (ax file extension). Skype runs fine and I see a stream of my OutputDebugString messages in the Event Viewer, but none of my breakpoints are ever hit. In my Project Settings I have optimizations off, stack frames on, debug DCUs on, Range Checking on, and Overflow checking on. Each time I modify my code and run a test I: Do a full build Unregister the DirectShow filter (regsvr32 /u) Register the DirectShow filter (regsvr32) Run Skype as my Host application from the IDE When an Exception occurs, the IDE does trap it and pops up an error dialog box with the option to view the assembler code in the CPU window. However none of my breakpoints are being hit. Can anyone tell me how to get breakpoints working? Thanks.

• [C++] Write connected components of a graph using Boost Graph

  I have an file that is a long list of weighted edges, in the following form node1_id node2_id weight node1_id node3_id weight and so on. So one weighted edge per line. I want to load this file into boost graph and find the connected components in the graph. Each of these connected components is a subgraph. For each of these component subgraphs, I want to write the edges in the above-described format. I want to do all this using boost graph. This problem is in principle simple, it's just I'm not sure how to implement it neatly because I don't know my way around Boost Graph. I have already spent some hours and have code that will find the connected components, but my version is surely much longer and more complicated that necessary---I'm hoping there's a boost-graph ninja out there that can show me the right, easy way.

• Organizing source code in TFS 2010

  We have just gotten TFS 2010 up and running. We will be migrating our source into TFS but I have a question on how to organize the code. TFS 2010 has a new concept of project collections so I have decided that different groups within our organization. My team develops many different web applications and we have several shared components. We also use a few third party components (such as telerik). Clearly each web application is it's own project but where do I put the shard components? Should each component be in it's own project with separate builds and work items? Is there a best practice or recommended way to do this specific to TFS 2010?

• rsRenderingExtensionNotFound error using SSRS 2005

  Hi, I am trying to use the Sharp-shooter Silverlight report viewer control. This control has a server side component that renders the reports as XAML for displaying in the client side control. I have tried manually installing the rendering extension, according to the instructions on their website, and also the instructions on MSDN. I have basically copied the dll's into the reporting services bin folder and added the following line to rsreportserver.config file: <Extension Name="XAML" Type="PerpetuumSoft.ReportingService.XamlRendering.XamlRenderer,PerpetuumSoft.ReportingService.XamlRendering"/> I've also added a line into the rssrvpolicy.config file as specified on their site. After I made these changes I went into windows services and restarted the Reporting Services services but I get the following error when I try to run reports: rsRenderingExtensionNotFound: An attempt has been made to use a rendering extension that is not registered for this report server Is there anything else that I need to do to use a custom rendering extension within SSRS 2005?

But I found that after hundreds of object creations I can have StackOverflow exception. I checked my code and saw that I forgot to remove the handler to Timer Tick. The question is, where and when is it correct to remove hadler? Do I need to implement the IDisposable interface in the base class and RemoveHandler in Dispose?

• Updating onclick's string value with Greasemonkey

  I'm trying to write a Greasemonkey script to update the onclick value of a bunch of links on a page. The HTML looks like this: <a onclick="OpenGenericPopup('url-99.asp','popup',500,500,false)" href="javascript:void(0)">text</a> I need to update the url-99.asp part of the Javascript into something like urlB-99.asp. In my script, I'm collecting all the links with an XPath expression and iterating through them: var allEl = document.evaluate( 'td[@class="my-class"]/a', document, null, XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE, null); for (var i = 0; i < allEl.snapshotLength; i++) { var el = allEl.snapshotItem(i); //something here; } If I try to alert(el.onclick), I get an error in the console: Component is not available I've read up on unsafeWindow and other Greasemonkey features, and I understand how to set an event handler for that link with a new onClick event, but how do I read the current onclick value into a string so I can manipulate it and update the element?

• How is the best way to write a SOAP 1.2 Client with Delphi Win32

  So far, no Delphi version supports SOAP 1.2 clients or server. I have tried for weeks to make it works, but every time a new problem, with VS/C# I could do the same, and make works in 3 days, but I need to do with Delphi 2009. "I write a new version using Rem Objects SDK,", but the result was not better that I had with Delphi SOAP library. But I'm wondering what choice else do I have, which library/component full support SOAP 1.2? I found a message from Bruneau, suggesting Pocket SOAP http://www.pocketsoap.com/pocketsoap/ I dont know how this works, Ill investigate and see what I can do.

• Upload images problem: IO error. (Error #2038)

  I'm using script which is uploading files to server via flash component. Sometimes, very rarely, when trying to upload images via Firefox I get following error: IO error #2038. Searching on the net I could find reason why is it really happening to me. But I found solution for my case: I open IE6, do the same thing there (photos are always uploaded without problem) and the when I try again in Firefox problem disappears. If someone had similar problems maybe this could help or maybe this hint could help to someone discovering cause of the problem :)

• Advice? SSO in N-tiered SOA with mixture of REST and SOAP services

  Hi gang, We are moving to SSO in our N-tiered SOA applications. If all the services were SOAP, I'd be ok with just the WS-Security, WS-Trust, WS-Federation set of protocols. My problem is that many of the services are RESTful (ironic) and those protocols do not address REST services. What is your advice for SSO protecting the REST services in an N-tiered SOA architecture with the following requirements: ideally claims-based identity information available to the REST services original user (eg. bootstrap) information must flow through the tiers so that each service can "ActAs" or "OnBehalfOf" the user support sequences like: WebApp -- REST Svc -- SOAP Svc WebApp -- REST Svc1 -- REST Svc2 WebApp -- SOAP Svc -- REST Svc WebApp -- SOAP Svc1 -- SOAP Svc2 support SSO (and SSOff) service/web app platforms: ASP.Net and WCF Java end-user client platforms: .Net (WSE 3.0 and WCF) flash 10 java javascript and AJAX Normally I'm good at climbing / bashing my way through walls, but this one's knocked me flat. • Flex actionscript extending DateChooser, events in calendar

  ExtendedDateChooser class is great solution for simple event calendar used in my flex project. You can find it if google for "Adding-Calendar-Event-Entries-to-the-Flex-DateChooser-Component" with a link of updated solution in comments of the post. I posted files below. Problem in that calendar is text events are missing when month is changed. Is there updateCompleted event in Actionscript just like in dateChooser flex component? Like in: <mx:DateChooser id="dc" updateCompleted="goThroughDateChooserCalendarLayoutAndSetEventsInCalendarAgain()"</mx> When scroll event is added, which is available in Actionscript, it gets dispatched but after updateDisplayList() is fired, so didn't manage to answer, why are calendar events erased? Any suggestions, what to add in code, maybe override some function? • Disable rows in Flex DataGrid

  Unless I'm missing something obvious here, there is no way of disbabling one or more rows in a DataGrid. I would expect a disabledRows or disabledRowIndidices property on the DataGrid or List component but that doesn't seem to exist. I found a "rendererArray" property which is scoped to mx_internal and contains all itemrenderers of all cells in the datagrid. So I can check the type and the value of the data inside the renderer and enable or disable all cells of the same row, but that feels too much like a hack. Any suggestions? Edit: I realize that disabling a row could mean different things. In my case it means not being able to edit the row even when the editable property of the datagrid is set to true. It could however also mean not being able to select a row, but that's not what I'm looking for.

• Is Visual Studio 2010 WebDev WebServer (Cassini) 64-bit compatible?

  I'm now developing on Visual Studio 2008 on a 64-bit OS (Windows Server 2008 64-bit). While the apps I write are 64-bit capable, as is IIS7, the built-in ASP.NET Development Server (aka Cassini aka WebDev.Webserver.exe) runs as 32-bit. This brings up a plethora of issues, such as: 32-bit and 64-bit applications have separate HKLM\Software registry homes There are 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the SQL Server Client Network Utility Other fun surprises I haven't discovered but I'm sure will spring up While I am finding workarounds for most of this, I have to ask... Does anyone who has played with the Visual Studio 2010 preview bits on 64-bit architecture know if the development web servers can handle 64-bit, and if so, are there options for which mode to run it in? (Like a checkbox in the project properties, for instance)

  Hello, Does anyone know what does the following error mean: +entityForName: could not locate an NSManagedObjectModel for entity name 'TAB_RSS' I noticed my frameworks were highlighted in red UIKIT.framework, Foundation.framework and CoreGraphics.framework. I've now added these but am getting a warning message stating "missing required architecture i386 in file". I think this may be related to the above error. I found another post that may help me http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...e-i386-in-file but I can't find my project.pbxproj file. I think i need to edit this and remove references to the FRAMEWORK_SEARCH_PATHS. Stephen

• How to activate SSL(HTTPS) in Glassfish 3.0 embedded API?

  We are implementing an application with a webservice as component and decided to use the Glassfish 3.0 embedded distri to provide the webservice. And it works. We need a SSL(HTTPS) connection to the webservice, but we didn't find any documentation or hint how to activate it programmatically via the embedded API. Thus we tried to configure the embedded Glassfish via domain.xml, what has a listener configured with SSL. And the port is reachable but only without SSL. The embedded Glassfish seem to ignore the configuration to activate SSL for the port. Has anyone experience in configuring embedded Glassfish with SSL?

• In NHibernate, how do I combine two DetachedCriteria instances

  My scenario is this: I have a base NHibernate query to run of the form (I've coded it using DetachedCriteria , but describe it here using SQL syntax): SELECT * FROM Items I INNER JOIN SubItems S on S.FK = I.Key The user interface to show the results of this join allows the user to specify additional criteria: Say: I.SomeField = 'UserValue'. Now, I need the final load command to be: SELECT * FROM Items I INNER JOIN SubItems S on S.FK = I.Key WHERE I.SomeField = 'UserValue' My problem is: I've created a DetachedCriteria with the 'static' aspect of the query (the top join) and the UI creates a DetachedCriteria with the 'dynamic' component of the query. I need to combine the two into a final query that I can execute on the NHibernate session. DefaultCriteria.Add() takes an ICriterion (which are created using the Expression class, and maybe other classes I don't know of which could be the solution to my problem). Does anyone know how I might do what I want?

• sudo port install cmake trouble (for MGTwitterEngine)

  I am following This Tutorial on installing MGTwitterEngine on my MAC osx 10.6.2. I am stuck on this step: sudo port install cmake it gives me the following error: dlopen(/opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib, 10): no suitable image found. Did find: /opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib: no matching architecture in universal wrapper while executing "load /opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib" ("package ifneeded Pextlib 1.0" script) invoked from within "package require Pextlib 1.0" (file "/opt/local/bin/port" line 40) Rex-MacBook-Pro:~ Rex$ Thus, I cannot use TERMINAL to install YAJL to get my app to build. Help needed. P.S. In terminal preferences, Shells Open With is either /usr/bin/login or /bin/bash YAJL is supposedly installed at /Users/Rex I am using OSX 10.6.2
