  • What is jQuery for Document.createElementNS()?

    - by C.W.Holeman II
    What is jQuery for Document.createElementNS()? function emleGraphicToSvg(aGraphicNode) { var lu = function luf(aPrefix){ switch (aPrefix){ case 'xhtml': return 'http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'; case 'math': return 'http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML'; case 'svg': return 'http://www.w3.org/2000/svg'; } return ''; }; var svg = document.evaluate("svg:svg", aGraphicNode, lu, XPathResult.FIRST_ORDERED_NODE_TYPE, null). singleNodeValue; $(svg).children().remove(); rect = document.createElementNS(lu('svg'), "rect"); rect.setAttribute("x", "35"); rect.setAttribute("y", "25"); rect.setAttribute("width", "200"); rect.setAttribute("height", "50"); rect.setAttribute("class", "emleGraphicOutline"); svg.appendChild(rect); } The code is a simplified fragment from Emle - Electronic Mathematics Laboratory Equipment JavaScript file emle_lab.js. The Look-Up-Function, luf(), maps a complete reference to a shorten name for the namespace in the XPath string and createElementNS(). The existing svg:svg is located, removed and replaced by a new rectangle.

  • using Jquery, replace html elements with own values

    - by loviji
    Hello, I have a table, has many rows. for example one of from rows(all rows are same): <tr> <td> <input type="text" /> </td> <td> <textarea cols="40" rows="3" ></textarea> </td> <td> <select> //options </select> </td> <td> <input type="text" /> </td> <td> <input type="checkbox" /> </td> </tr> Rows can be dynamically added by jquery after button click. I'm trying to do: after button click add new row(I do it) and replace previous row Html Elements(input type=text, textarea, select, input type=text, /[input type="checkbox" must be safe]) with its own values. And after if i click on row(anyrow), i want to rollback previous operation. i.e. replace texts with html element. and htmlElement.val()=text. Added after 30 minutes: I wrote for input type=text element and textarea element this. $("#btnAdd").click(function() { $input = $('#mainTable tbody>tr:last').closest("tr").find("td > input:text"); $input.replaceWith($input.val()); $textArea = $('#mainTable tbody>tr:last').closest("tr").find("td > textarea"); $textArea.replaceWith($textArea.val()); }); is this a good idea?

  • select (or click) specific radiobutton using jQuery

    - by Oleg Babanov
    I am trying to make specific radiobutton checked on page load and tried a lot of ways, but no one worked for me. This is a part of orderform on my webstore. <input type="radio" name="sPaymentCarrier" id="pC_2-1" value="1;2;0.00" onclick="countCarrierPrice( this )" /> <label for="pC_2-1">0</label> Actually this radiobutton is the only on radiobutton on page, and it must be checked to let user make order. I tried $(function() { var $radios = $('input:radio[name=sPaymentCarrier]'); if($radios.is(':checked') === false) { $radios.filter('[value=1;2;0.00]').attr('checked', true); } }); and $('input:radio[name="sPaymentCarrier"]').filter('[value="1;2;0.00"]').attr('checked', true); but none of these ways worked. Also I tried a lot of other codes, but when I refreshed page I still saw this button unchecked. I guess maybe I have to set up jquery click on this button instead of select, but actually I cannot make this work. Any help is appreciated!

  • [jQuery] Sort contents alphabetically

    - by James
    So I am appending the following after an AJAX call, and this AJAX call may happen several time, returning several data items. And I am trying to use Tinysort [http://plugins.jquery.com/project/TinySort] to sort the list everytime, so the new items added are integrated nicely and sorted alphabetically. It unfortunately doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas? I mean, the data itself is being correctly appended, but unfortunately the sorting isn't occurring. var artists = []; $.each(data.artists, function(k, v) { artists.push('<section id="artist:' + v.name + '" class="artist"><div class="span-9"><img alt="' + v.name + '" width="34" height="34" class="photo" src="' + v.photo + '" /><strong>' + v.name + '</strong><br/><span>' + v.events + ' upcoming gig'); if (v.events != 1) { artists.push('s'); } artists.push('</span></div><div class="span-2 align-right last">Last</div><div class="clear"></div></section>'); }); $('div.artists p').remove(); $('div.artists div.next').remove(); $('div.artists').append(artists.join('')).append('<div class="next"><a href="#">Next</a></div>'); $('div.artists section').tsort('section[id]', {orderby: 'id'}); Thanks!

  • jquery form extension ajax

    - by Craig Wilson
    http://www.malsup.com/jquery/form/#html I have multiple forms on a single page. They all use the same class "myForm". Using the above extension I can get them to successfully process and POST to ajax-process.php <script> // wait for the DOM to be loaded $(document).ready(function() { // bind 'myForm' and provide a simple callback function $('.myForm').ajaxForm(function() { alert("Thank you for your comment!"); }); }); </script> I'm having an issue however with the response. I need to get the comment that the user submitted to be displayed in the respective div that it was submitted from. I can either set this as a hidden field in the form, or as text in the ajax-process.php file. I can't work out how to get the response from ajax-process.php into something I can work with in the script, if I run the following it appends to all the forms (obviously). The only way I can think to do it is to repeat the script using individual DIV ID's instead of a single class. However there must be a way of updating the div that the ajax-process.php returns! // prepare the form when the DOM is ready $(document).ready(function() { // bind form using ajaxForm $('.myForm').ajaxForm({ // target identifies the element(s) to update with the server response target: '.myDiv', // success identifies the function to invoke when the server response // has been received; here we apply a fade-in effect to the new content success: function() { $('.myDiv').fadeIn('slow'); } }); }); Any suggestions?!

  • Pass variable by Post method from JQuery UI Autocomplete to PHP page

    - by Shahriar N Khondokar
    I have two JQuery UI autocomplete input fields. When an option is selected in the first one, the value of the selection will be used as condition for a database query that will send the source data for the second autocomplete field. My problem is how do I send the value of the first selection to the PHP page via Post method? The code so far is shown below (this code is from a tutorial which used the GET method; but I want to use Post): <script> $("input#divisions").autocomplete ({ //this is the first input source : [ { value: "81", label: "City1" }, { value: "82", label: "City2" }, { value: "83", label: "City3" } ], minLength : 0, select: function(event, ui) { $('#divisions').val(ui.item.label); return false; }, focus: function(event, ui){ $('#divisions').val(ui.item.label); return false; }, change: function(event, ui){ //the tutorial has this value sent by variables in the URL; I want the selection value sent by POST. How can I change this? c_t_v_choices = "c_t_v_choices.php?filter=" + ui.item.value; $("#c_t_v").autocomplete("option", "source", c_t_v_choices); } }).focus (function (event) { $(this).autocomplete ("search", ""); }); $("#c_t_v").autocomplete({ source: "", minLength: 2, select: function(event,ui){ //$('#city').val(ui.item.city); } }); </script> Can anyone please help? Dont hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

  • If Statements Skipping or Evaluating Strangely, JavaScript and jquery

    - by tlm2021
    So in jQuery, I have a global variable "currentSubNav" that stores a current visible element. The following code executes on "mouseenter". I need it to get store element's ID, check to see if there was one. If there wasn't, set the new visible element to the default. $('#mainMenu a').mouseenter(function() { var newName = $(this).attr("id"); if(newName == ''){ var newName = "default"; } Then it checks to see if the new element matches the current one. If so, it returns. If not, it performs the animations to bring in the new one. if(newName == currentSubNav){ return; }else{ $("div[name=" + currentSubNav + "]").animate({"left": "+=600px", "opacity": "toggle"}, "slow"); $("div[name=" + newName + "]").css({"margin-top": "0"}); $("div[name=" + newName + "]").fadeIn(2000); $("div[name=" + currentSubNav + "]").animate({"left": "-=600px"}, 0); currentSubNav = newName; return; } }); I'm using Chrome at the moment, and according to the dev tools that isn't what happens. Problem #1 "$(this).attr("id");" isn't returning undefined as the documentation claims. It seems to be returning "". BUT, when I have the if statement as I do above, it skips over the statement entirely. I set a breakpoint, but it never pauses execuation, so the statement is never evaluated. Problem #2 After the animations occur, instead of using the return at the end of the statements it goes back and uses the return for the "newName == currentSubNav" if statement. I guess that not a big deal, but it's not the intended behavior. I'm fairly new to JavaScript, and it appears I'm missing something about how JavaScript works. But I can't find what anywhere. Any help? Blockquote

  • jquery focusin() and preventing bubbling.

    - by DA
    I'm showing a div via an onclick event. If you click outside the div, I want to hide it. To do so, I'm binding a one time click event on the body: $('body').one('click.myDivPopup', function(e) { ...close my div... }); Within the div itself, I tell it to not propogate events so that actually clicking within the div won't trigger a click on the body: $myDiv.click(function(e){e.stopPropagation()}); This works fine as intended. I also want to hide the div if one tabs out of the div. My thinking was that in that scenario, I could use a focusin event on the body: $('body').one('focusin.myDivPopup', function(e) { ...close my div... }); Again, I don't want the events to bubble out of the div itself, so added this: $myDiv.focusin(function(e){e.preventDefault()}); This does NOT work. Changing focus within elements within myDiv triggers the focusin event on the body. Is this maybe a bug in jQuery? If so is there a better way to accomplish this?

  • Multiple forms + HAML + jQuery + Javascript submit

    - by Jay Godse
    Hi. I have a HAML page that lists some links to delete "things" that looks like this %div %a.form_submit Delete Thing 1 %form{:href=>"#", :id=>'comment_1', :method=>'post', :action=>'/thing/delete'} %input{:type=>'hidden', :name=>'thingid', :value=>'1'} %input{:type=>'submit', style='display:none'} %div %a.form_submit Delete Thing 22 %form{:href=>"#", :id=>'comment_22', :method=>'post', :action=>'/thing/delete'} %input{:type=>'hidden', :name=>'thingid', :value=>'22'} %input{:type=>'submit', style='display:none'} The intention is to have a link "Delete XX" which will delete something specific. A page could have a number of these links, and each link is for a specific "thing". I also have a piece of (unobtrusive) jQuery javascript that adds a click handler to each form as follows: $('a.form_submit').click(function(event) { $('form').submit(); event.preventDefauilt(); }); This works when there is one form on a page. However, if I have more than one form on a page, how do I ensure that clicking "Delete Thing 1" will trigger a submit() event only on the form with id='comment_1'?

  • JQuery UI Sortable

    - by RussP
    Can someone please help me with this one: When using UISortables where - and how do I put "serialize" into the JQuery function? I have 4 columns class '.columm' and each wit a unique id - col1,col2,col3 & col4. I can get the drag & drop bit to work I now need to put the "final" positions into a serialized array. Here is my code: $(".column").sortable({ revert: true, scroll: true, appendTo: 'body', connectWith: '.column', delay:200, stop: function() { $(".column").each(function(){ var test = $(this).attr('id'); alert(test); // //var myArray = $(this).sortable("serialize"); }) }, revertDuration:50000, scope:'scope', opacity: 0.80, }); You will see alert test. I have done this to see if I can get the col id's into an alert and I can, but where do i put .sortable( "serialize" , [options] ) and how do I do that for the 4 columns to create 1 single serialized array? having done that how/where do you set the order when you next load the page? (OK yes, I do intent to "store" the serialized array) Help please - thanks

  • [jQuery UI - Accordion] Styling active header?

    - by RC
    Hi, Simple issue: I am using Accordion without any UI themes (just barebones, using my own CSS). So far, so good, except that I cannot figure out how to set an "active" style for the currently selected header. The jQuery code: $("#menu").accordion({ event:"mouseover",header:"a.top" }); The HTML code: <a href="#" class="top">XXX1</a> <div class="sub"> <a href="#">Subheading 1</a> <a href="#">Subheading 2</a> <a href="#">Subheading 3</a> </div> <a href="#" class="top">XXX2</a> <div class="sub"> <a href="#">Subheading 1</a> <a href="#">Subheading 2</a> <a href="#">Subheading 3</a> </div> This works great, except that I cannot find a way to define the styles for the active header without using ThemeRoller. Manually setting the following styles in my CSS has no effect: .ui-state-active .ui-widget-content .ui-state-active .ui-state-active a .ui-state-active a:link .ui-state-active a:visited Assistance, please?

  • Getting the value of an input inside a td for each row with jQuery

    - by Anne
    I am still having so many problems with this: function padTitles() { $('tr').each(function () { var tds = $(this).find('input'), text = tds.filter('[id^="TempRowKey_"]').val(), tdToPad = tds.filter('[id^="title_"]'), pad; if (/0\.0$/.test(text)) pad = 10; else if (/\.0$/.test(text)) pad = 35; else pad = 60; tdToPad.css('paddingLeft', pad); }); } Note: here is what I was using before. This worked when the value was not inside an input: var tds = $(this).find('td'), text = tds.filter('[id^="refKey_"]').text(), It is supposed to get the Value of the Inputs with id's that start with TempRowKey_ and then use these for padding. But the code does nothing. Here is my HTML: <tr id="row_1"> <td id="tempRowKey_1" > <input type="text" size="10" value="1.0.0" class="updatable" id="TempRowKey_1"> </td> <td id="title_1"> <input id="Title_1" class="updatable" type="text" value="zxxx" size="100" name="item.Title"> </td>. <td ... </tr> Is there some way I can test this. I can't get access to anything inside the jQuery block?

  • Appended content using jQuery 'append' is not submitted?

    - by YourMomzThaBomb
    I'm new to jQuery so this may be a real simple answer. I have a ASP.NET project that I'm trying to dynamically add content to a span element by typing into a text box and clicking a button. Sounds simple right? Well, I can get the content to added, but when the form is submitted the span element is still empty? Why is the new data not submitted? What step am I missing? Please help. Here's some sample code: < span id="tagContainer" runat="server"< /span < input type="text" name="tag" id="tag" / < input type="button" name="AddTag" value="Add" class="button" onclick="addTag();" / function addTag() {    if ($("#tag").val() != "") {       $("#tagContainer").append('$("#tag").val()');       $("#tag").val("");    } }

  • jQuery recursive function to upload many files while giving the user some feedback

    - by checcco
    Hi guys, I'm trying to write a jQuery function to let users upload many files at once. Here's the function I thought to give the user some feedback about the upload process progress. function uploadFiles(numbersOfFiles, start) { $("#info").html(start + " files uploaded"); $.post('upload.php', { start: start }, function (data) { start += 5; if (start < numbersOfFiles) { $("#info").html(start + " files uploaded"); uploadFiles(numbersOfFiles, start); } else { $("#info").html("All files have been uploaded"); } }); } The function calls a php script to upload 5 files, then if there are more files to upload it calls the script again. The whole process works. I've tried it with 100 files. The only thing that doesn't work is the #info div updating. The div get updated the first time and then again only to show "All files have been uploaded". So there's no feedback for the user about the uploading process. I can't understand why... Any help?

  • JQuery - Element Selection

    - by user208662
    Hello, I'm relatively new to JQuery. I'm trying to understand how to select a child element. Currently, I have some HTML that is defined as follows: <div id="elem1"> <div class="display">Student 1</div> </div> <div id="elem2"> <div class="display">Student 2</div> </div> <div id="elem3"> <div class="display">Student 3</div> </div> When a user clicks a link, one of the elements (elem1, elem2, or elem3) is going to be passed to a function that is defined as follows: function getNodeDisplay(node) { // NOTE: This does not work as desired return $(node).(#".display").html(); } Unfortunately, this approach does not work. How do I get the HTML associated with an element that has a specific class or a given element? Thank you for your help!

  • jQuery/Ajax IE7 - Long requests fail

    - by iQ
    Hi guys, I have a problem with IE7 regarding an ajax call that is made by jQuery.load function. Basically the request works in cases where the URL string is not too long, but as soon as the URL gets very large it fails. Doing some debugging on the Ajax call I found this error: URL: <blanked out security reasons but it's very long> Content Type: Headers size (bytes): 0 Data size (bytes): 0 Total size (bytes): 0 Transferred data size (bytes): 0 Cached data: No Error result: 0x800c0005 Error constant: INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND Error description: The server or proxy was not found Extended error result: 0x7a Extended error description: The data area passed to a system call is too small. As you can see, it looks like nothing is being sent. Now this only happens on IE7 but not other browsers, with IE8 there is a small delay but still works. The same request works fine when the URL string is relatively small. Now I need this working on IE7 for compatibility reasons and I cannot find workarounds for this so any help is greatly appreciated. The actual ajax call is like this: $("ID").load("url?lotsofparams",callbac func(){}); "lotsofparams" can vary, sometimes being small or very large. It's when the string is very large that I get the above error for IE7 only.

  • howto catch jQuery for multiple links but not all

    - by user247245
    I'm trying to dig into jQuery but would like some feedback on how to do things the best way, I have a list with items, which each contains a hidden div that should show upon click on it's parent, list div:ed item1 with link hidden div div:ed item2 with link hidden div .. My current solution is to trace the calling link by it's id and then reusing that ID for showing the correct hidden one: $(document).ready(function() { //jQ should only trigger on links with id="cmLinkINT" $("a").click(function() { //see if it's a comment request. var s = $(this).attr("id"); if (s.indexOf('cmLink') != -1) { //ok, it was a 'show'-link, get the id.. var j = s.substring(6); //ok, now I have the id i want to show (detailsINT) return false; } }); }); What's not clear to me is the best approach, Should I use id for requesting a or trace the id of the parent div. How to avoid that the code triggers on any link? Class? Thankful for any feedback, regards //t

  • Jquery data() returning undefined

    - by David Lockwood
    I have been doing a simple jquery data() test. However it is returning undefined. It works on jsfiddle though (http://jsfiddle.net/yrCdj/). I have a jinja2 loop which populates a div and I want to tag it with some metadata for use later : {% for s in siteInfo[:markers[0]] %} <div class="sitebox2"> <script> $(".sitebox2:last").append('<a href="/sites/d?siteid={{s[5]}}">{{s[0]}}</a><br>Distance from {{loc}} is {{s[6]}} km.<br>'); $(".sitebox2:last").data('fruit', 'apple'); </script> </div> {% endfor %} I then try to call this data to test if it is working: <script type="text/javascript"> $(".sitebox2").each(function(k, v) { var f = $(v).data('fruit'); alert(f); }); </script> It returns undefined. Any ideas on what is going wrong?

  • jQuery ajax response not operating correctly

    - by mmarceau
    Ok this is frustrating... The code below works "correctly" as far as sending the email address to the SaveEmail URL and it gets saved correctly each time I change the drop down. However it only outputs the "Successful" message once, no matter how many times I change the value in the drop down. The "data" that is returned is "Successful". I would like to show the message for a couple seconds, then fade it out. It works correctly the first time I change the drop down, after that the change happens and the value gets saved, but the "Successful" message doesn't display. jQuery code: $('#AgentEmails').change(function() { var NewAddress = $('#AgentEmails').val(); $.post('SaveEmail.aspx', { email: NewAddress }, function(data) { $('#SelectMsg').html("<b>" + data + "</b>").fadeOut(); }); }); HTML code: <select ID='AgentEmails' runat='server'> <option value="[email protected]">TEST</option> </select><span id='SelectMsg'></span> What needs to be changed in my code to make this operate correctly? Thanks for the help.

The first function is called on load $(document).ready(function() { $("#div2").hide('slow'); $("#div1").empty().html('<img src="ajax-loader.gif" />'); $.ajax( { type: "POST", url: "WebFunctions.php", data: {'func':'1'}, success: function(html) { $("#div1").show('slow').html(html) } }); The Data: {'func':'1'} -- is a switch statement on the php side switch($_POST['func']) { case '1': getParents(); break; case '2': getChilds(params); break; case '3': getChildObjects(params); break; default: } "This functions are calls to a soap server" <-- irrelevant. So when that function finishes i get an array which contains IDs and Names. I echo the names but i want the ID for reference so when i click on the echoed name i can call an other php function with parameter the ID of the name... How do i get rid of the switch statement?? How do i call properly php functions and pass params to it??? How can i save this IDs so when i click on an item with that id an other php function is called?? Plz feel free to ask any question, any answer is welcome :)
