  • Translating PHP language file

    - by Cudos
    Hello. I have a language file like this: <?php $lng_imagepath = "images/"; $lng_imageext = "gif"; $lng_characset = "iso-8859-1"; $lng_prefix = "en_"; $lng_tabhome = "Home"; $lng_tabmyavenue = "My Profile"; $lng_tabregister = "Register"; $lng_tabhelp = "Help"; $lng_tabbuybids = "Buy Bids"; ?> When I convert into a .html file and run Google translate it looks like this: Glemt brugernavn eller adgangskode? "; $ lng_invaliddata =" Ugyldig brugernavn og password. "$ lng_accountsuspend =" Din konto er suspenderet af vindetbud.dk. "$ lng_accountdelete =" Din konto er blevet slettet af vindetbud.dk. "$ lng_enterdata = "Angiv brugernavn og adgangskode." $ lng_enterpassword = "Angiv adgangskoden." / / slut login side variabel / / Language variabler for registrering side $ lng_frregistration = "Gratis registrering"; $ lng_vouchermessage = "voucher, indløses mod første auktion du vinder "; $ lng_amazingproducts =" Chancen for at vinde fantastiske produkter til fantastiske priser "; $ lng_registrationdata =" Du kan tilmelde med vindetbud.dk, bedes du udfylde følgende "; $ lng_personalinfo =" Personlige oplysninger "; $ lng_firstname =" Første Name "; $ lng_lastname =" Efternavn "; $ lng_birthdate =" Fødselsdato "; Do you have any clever ideas how to translate the file? P.S. I know that grammar won't be perfect, but it would help alot to use google translate.

  • Type conversion between PHP client and Java webservice

    - by a1ex07
    I have a web service implemented as EJB. One of it's methods returns Map<String,String>. On client side I use php : $client = new SoapClient($wsdl,array("cache_wsdl"=>WSDL_CACHE_NONE)); $result = $client->foo($params); Everything works fine, but I would like $result-return to be an associative array. Now it looks like array(10) { [0]=> object(stdClass)#46 (2) { ["key"]=> string(4) "key1" ["value"]=> string(4) "val1" } .... I want array(10) {"key1"=>"value1", "key2"=>"value2", .... } The obvious solution is to iterate through this array and create a new array $arr = array(); foreach ($result->return as $val) $arr[$val->key] = $val->value; But I wonder if there is a better way to get an assosicative array ? Thanks in advance.

  • PHP ZipArchive Empty in IE

    - by Jesse Bunch
    Hi, I am using PHP's ZipArchive class to create a zip file containing photos and then serve it up to the browser for download. Here is my code: /** * Grabs the order, packages the files, and serves them up for download. * * @param string $intEntryID * @return void * @author Jesse Bunch */ public static function download_order_by_entry_id($intUniqueID) { $objCustomer = PhotoCustomer::get_customer_by_unique_id($intUniqueID); if ($objCustomer): if (!class_exists('ZipArchive')): trigger_error('ZipArchive Class does not exist', E_USER_ERROR); endif; $objZip = new ZipArchive(); $strZipFilename = sprintf('%s/application/tmp/%s-%s.zip', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'], $objCustomer->getEntryID(), time()); if ($objZip->open($strZipFilename, ZIPARCHIVE::CREATE) !== TRUE): trigger_error('Unable to create zip archive', E_USER_ERROR); endif; foreach($objCustomer->arrPhotosRequested as $objPhoto): $filename = PhotoCart::replace_ee_file_dir_in_string($objPhoto->strHighRes); $objZip->addFile($filename,sprintf('/press_photos/%s-%s', $objPhoto->getEntryID(), basename($filename))); endforeach; $objZip->close(); header('Last-Modified: '.gmdate('D, d M Y H:i:s', filemtime($strZipFilename)).' GMT', TRUE, 200); header('Cache-Control: no-cache', TRUE); header('Pragma: Public', TRUE); header('Expires: ' . gmdate('D, d M Y H:i:s', time()) . ' GMT', TRUE); header('Content-Length: '.filesize($strZipFilename), TRUE); header('Content-disposition: attachment; filename=press_photos.zip', TRUE); header('Content-Type: application/octet-stream', TRUE); ob_start(); readfile($strZipFilename); ob_end_flush(); exit; else: trigger_error('Invalid Customer', E_USER_ERROR); endif; } This code works really well with all browsers but IE. In IE, the file downloads correctly, but the zip archive is empty. When trying to extract the files, Windows tells me that the zip archive is corrupt. Has anyone had this issue before?

  • PHP: MVC and Model

    - by Pirkka
    Hello I`ve been wondering this one thing about creating models. If I make for example Page model. Is it the both: It can retrieve one row from the table or all the rows. Somehow Im mixing the objects and the database. I have thought it like this: I would have to make a Page-class that would represent one row in the table. It also would have all the basic CRUD-methods. Then I would have to do a Pages-class (somekind of collection) that would retrieve rows from the table and instantiate a Page object from each row. Is this kind of weird? If someone could explain to me the idea of model throughout.. Im again confused. Maybe Im thinking the whole OOP too difficult.. And by the way this forum is great. Hopefully people will just understand my problems. Heh. I was a long time procedural style programmer and now in 3 months I have dived into OOP and MVC and PHP frameworks and I just get more excited day by day when I explore this stuff!

  • PHP Single Sign On (SSO) generating new session id

    - by bigstylee
    I am trying to create a single sign on process. The method I have implemented makes use of storing session data in a database. When a new user comes to the website (www.example2.com) a table of authentication is checked. As this is their first visit to the website, there will be no match. The browser is redicted to the authentication server www.example1.com/authenticate.php?session_id=ABC123 where ABC123 represents the session id created on www.example2.com. THe session id which is then generated on www.example1.com is stored along side the session id using the parameter set in the URL. The user is then redirected back to the www.example2.com and a match of session ids should be found. This WAS working fine in FireFox but when I tried it in Chrome I noticed that the session id being generated when the browser is redirected back to www.example2.com is a new session id. As a result an infinite loop is created. This behaviour has not manifested itself in FireFox aswell. What is causing the new session id to be generated? More importantly, what can I do to stop it? Thanks in advance! EDIT I had a logically error that was causing an infinite loop. This now works fine again in FireFox but the infinite loop is still occuring in Chrome and Internet Explorer.

  • Using clases in PHP to store function

    - by Artur
    Hello! I need some advise on my PHP code organisation. I need classes where I can store different functions, and I need access to those classes in different parts of my project. Making an object of this classes each time is too sadly, so I've found a two ways have to solve it. First is to use static methods, like class car { public static $wheels_count = 4; public static function change_wheels_count($new_count) { car::$wheels_count = $new_count; } } Second is to use singleton pattern: class Example { // Hold an instance of the class private static $instance; // The singleton method public static function singleton() { if (!isset(self::$instance)) { $c = __CLASS__; self::$instance = new $c; } return self::$instance; } } But author of the article about singletons said, that if I have too much singletons in my code I should reconstruct it. But I need a lot of such classes. Can anybody explain prons and cons of each way? Which is mostly used? Are there more beautiful ways?

  • PHP script not automatically updating when moved to another server

    - by user32007
    A friend built a ranking system on his site and I am trying to host in on mine via WordPress and Go Daddy. It updates for him but when I load it to my site, it works for 6 hours, but as soon as the reload is supposed to occur, it errors and I get a 500 timeout error. His page is at: jeremynoeljohnson .com/yakezieclub My page is currently at http://sweatingthebigstuff.com/yakezieclub but when you ?reload=1 it will give the error. Any idea why this might be happening? Any settings that I might need to change? Here is the top of the index.php file. I'm not sure which part of any of it is messing up. I literally uploaded the same code as him. Here's the reload part: $cachefile = "rankings.html"; $daycachefile = "rankings_history.xml"; $cachetime = (60 * 60) * 6; // every 6 hours, the cache refreshes $daycachetime = (60 * 60) * 24; // every 24 hours, the history will be written to // - or whenever the page is requested after 24 hours has passed $writenewdata = false; if (!empty($_GET['reload'])) { if ($_GET['reload']== 1) { $cachetime = 1; } } if (!empty($_GET['reloadhistory'])) { if ($_GET['reloadhistory'] == 1) { $daycachetime = 1; $cachetime = 1; } } if (file_exists($daycachefile) && (time() - $daycachetime < filemtime($daycachefile))) { // Do nothing } else { $writenewdata = true; $cachetime = 1; } // Serve from the cache if it is younger than $cachetime if (file_exists($cachefile) && (time() - $cachetime < filemtime($cachefile))) { include($cachefile); echo "<!-- Cached ".date('jS F Y H:i', filemtime($cachefile))." -->"; exit; } ob_start(); // start the output buffer ?>

  • php mysql parallel array checkboxes

    - by gramware
    I have an array of checkboxes that I edit at once to set up a 'tinyint' field. the problem comes in when i uncheck the checkbox and post the vales to mysql. since it posts an array of checkboxes and another parallel array of values to edit, unchecking a checkbox results in the 0 value been ignored by PHP_POST and hence the checkbox array will be less by the number of unchecked values in the form while the array to be edited will have all the records in the form. here is the submit code while($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $checked = ($row[active]==1) ? 'checked="checked"' : ''; ... echo "<input type='hidden' name='TrID[]' value='$TrID'>"; echo "<input type='checkbox' name='active1[]' value='$row[active]''$checked' >"; ... and the processing php script $userid = ($_POST['TrID']); $checked= ($_POST['active']); $i=0; foreach ($userid as $usid) { if ($checked[$i]==1){ $check = 1; } else{ $check = 0; } $qry1 ="UPDATE `epapers`.`clientelle` SET `active` = '$check' WHERE `clientelle`.`user_id` = '$usid' "; $result = mysql_query($qry1); $i++; }

  • Read XML with PHP

    I am trying to check a field in some XML that is returned from an outside. The XML is returned in a variable call $out and when you view the source of the page you get a XML output of the following, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <ResponseBlock Live="FALSE" Version="3.51"> <Response Type="AUTH"> <OperationResponse> <TransactionReference>23-9-1334895</TransactionReference> <TransactionCompletedTimestamp>2010-04-30 15:59:05</TransactionCompletedTimestamp> <AuthCode>AUTH CODE:TEST</AuthCode> <TransactionVerifier>AlaUOS1MOnN/iwc5s2WPDm5ggrCLwesUnHs9h+W0N3CRaln2W6lh+6dtaRFFhLdwfnw6y7lRemyJUYl9a3dpWfzORE6DaZkFMb+dIb0Ne1UxjFEJkrEtjzx/i8KSayrIBrT/yGZOoOT42EZ9loc+UkdGk/pqYvj8bZztvgBNo2Ak=</TransactionVerifier> <Result>1</Result> <SettleStatus>0</SettleStatus> <SecurityResponseSecurityCode>1</SecurityResponseSecurityCode> <SecurityResponsePostCode>1</SecurityResponsePostCode> <SecurityResponseAddress>1</SecurityResponseAddress> </OperationResponse> <Order> <OrderInformation>This is a test order</OrderInformation> <OrderReference>Order0001</OrderReference> </Order> </Response> </ResponseBlock> I want check what value is in the 'Result' field.   • php, user-uploaded files, version control, and website deployment

    - by user151841
    I have a website that I regularly update the code to. I keep it in version control. When I want to deploy a new version of the site, I do an export and then symlink the served directory name to the directory of the deployment. There is a place where users can upload files, and I noticed once that, after I had deployed a new version, the user files were gone! Of course, I hadn't added them to the repository, and since the served site was from an export, they weren't uploaded into a version-controlled directory anyways. PHP doesn't yet have integrated svn functionality, so I couldn't do much programmatically to user uploaded files. My solution was to create an additional website, files.website.com, which sits in a parallel directory to the served website, and is served out of a directory that is under version control. That way they don't get obliterated when I do an upgrade to the website. From time to time, I manually add uploaded files to the svn project, deleted user-deleted ones, and commit the new version. I'm working on a shell script to run from cron to do this, but it isn't my forte, so it's on the backburner as it's not a pressing need. Is there a better way to do this?

  • wscript.shell running file with space in path with PHP

    - by ermac2014
    I was trying to use wscript.shell through COM objects with php to pass some cmd commands to cURL library (the DOS version). here is what I use to perform this task: function windExec($cmd,$mode=''){ // Setup the command to run from "run" $cmdline = "cmd /C $cmd"; // set-up the output and mode if ($mode=='FG'){ $outputfile = uniqid(time()) . ".txt"; $cmdline .= " > $outputfile"; $m = true; } else $m = false; // Make a new instance of the COM object $WshShell = new COM("WScript.Shell"); // Make the command window but dont show it. $oExec = $WshShell->Run($cmdline, 0, $m); if ($outputfile){ // Read the tmp file. $retStr = file_get_contents($outputfile); // Delete the temp_file. unlink($outputfile); } else $retStr = ""; return $retStr; } now when I run this function like: windExec("\"C:/Documents and Settings/ermac/Desktop/my project/curl\" http://www.google.com/", 'FG'); curl doesn't run because there is a problem with the path. but when I remove the spaces from the path it works great. windExec("\"C:/curl\" http://www.google.com/", 'FG'); so my question is how can I escape these spaces in wscript.shell commands? is there anyway I can fix this? thanks in advance :)

  • Routing in Php and decorator pattern

    - by Joey Salac Hipolito
    I do not know if I am using the term 'routing' correctly, but here is the situation: I created an .htaccess file to 'process' (dunno if my term is right) the url of my application, like this : RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php?url=$1 [QSA,L] Now I have this : http://appname/controller/method/parameter http://appname/$url[0]/$url[1]/$url[2] What I did is: setup a default controller, in case it is not specified in the url setup a Controller wrapper I did it like this $target = new $url[0]() $controller = new Controller($target) The problem with that one is that I can't use the methods in the object I passed in the constructor of the Controller: I resolved it like this : class Controller { protected $target; protected $view; public function __construct($target, $view) { $this->target = $target; $this->view = $view; } public function __call($method, $arguments) { if (method_exists($this->target, $method)) { return call_user_func_array(array($this->target, $method), $arguments); } } } This is working fine, the problem occurs in the index where I did the routing, here it is if(isset($url[2])){ if(method_exists($controller, $url[1])){ $controller->$url[1]($url[2]) } } else { if(method_exists($controller, $url[1])){ $controller->$url[1]() } } where $controller = new Controller($target) The problem is that the method doesn't exist, although I can use it directly without checking if method exist, how can I resolve this?

  • PhpBB3: adding background to specific php generated text input without affecting the other text inputs

    - by user1780055
    I have created a custom PhpBB3 style and desperately since a few hours tried to add a background image to a specific comment text area. With firebug I checked if the comment text area had a class and it does, so I tried some css variations and finally tried: sn-inputComment { background: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/pencil.png") repeat-x left top #FFFFFF;} { I also tried to find and manipulate the php generated text area but no success. Non of my methods worked. I will provide you all with a tinylink url to my forum with a test user and password access. User: test Password: 123456 url: http://tinyurl.com/9yqpxdb Now when you are logged in you should be redirected to the correct url and you will see a a few text boxes with "Write a comment...". I would be very happy if you could tell me what I did wrong, why im not able to add a background to the text input without having my search boxes and "what is on your mind box" affected. I appreciate your time and hope that this can be somehow solved. Sincerely, Daniel

  • Storing unique values into an array and comparing against a loop - PHP

    - by Aphex22
    I'm writing a PHP report which is designed to be exported purely as a CSV file, using commma delimiters. There are three columns relating to product_id, these three columns are as follows: SKU Parent / Child Parent SKU 12345 parent 12345 12345_1 child 12345 12345_2 child 12345 12345_3 child 12345 12345_4 child 12345 18099 parent 18099 18099_1 child 18099 Here's a link to the full CSV file: http://i.imgur.com/XELufRd.png At the moment the code looks like this: $sql = "select * from product WHERE on_amazon = 'on' AND active = 'on'"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die ( mysql_error() );?> <? // set headers echo " Type, SKU, Parent / Child, Parent SKU, Product name, Manufacturer name, Gender, Product_description, Product price, Discount price, Quantity, Category, Photo 1, Photo 2, Photo 3, Photo 4, Photo 5, Photo 6, Photo 7, Photo 8, Color id, Color name, Size name <br> "; // load all stock while ($line = mysql_fetch_assoc($result) ) { ?> <?php // Loop through each possible size variation to see whether any of the quantity column has stock > 0 $con_size = array (35,355,36,37,375,38,385,39,395,40,405,41,415,42,425,43,435,44,445,45,455,46,465,47,475,48,485); $arrlength=count($con_size); for($x=0;$x<$arrlength;$x++) { // check if size is available if($line['quantity_c_size_'.$con_size[$x].'_chain'] > 0 ) { ?> <? echo 'Shoes'; ?>, <?=$line['product_id']?>, , , <?=$line['title']?>, <? $brand = $line['jys_brand']; echo ucfirst($brand); ?>, <? $gender = $line['category']; if ($gender == 'Mens') { echo 'H'; } else{ echo 'F'; } ?>, <?=preg_replace('/[^\da-z]/i', ' ', $line['amazon_desc']) ?>, <?=$line['price']?>, <?=$line['price']?>, <?=$line['quantity_c_size_'.$con_size[$x].'_chain']?>, <? $category = $line['style1']; switch ($category) { case "ankle-boots": echo "10013"; break; case "knee-high-boots": echo "10011"; break; case "high-heel-boots": echo "10033"; break; case "low-heel-boots": echo "10014"; break; case "wedge-boots": echo "10014"; break; case "western-boots": echo "10032"; break; case "flat-shoes": echo "10034"; break; case "high-heel-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "low-heel-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "wedge-shoes": echo "10035"; break; case "ballerina-shoes": echo "10008"; break; case "boat-shoes": echo "10018"; break; case "loafer-shoes": echo "10037"; break; case "work-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "flat-sandals": echo "10041"; break; case "low-heel-sandals": echo "10042"; break; case "high-heel-sandals": echo "10042"; break; case "wedge-sandals": echo "10042"; break; case "mule-sandals": echo "10038"; break; case "mary-jane-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "sports-shoes": echo "10026"; break; case "court-shoes": echo "10035"; break; case "peep-toe-shoes": echo "10035"; break; case "flat-boots": echo "10609"; break; case "mid-calf-boots": echo "10014"; break; case "trainer-shoes": echo "10009"; break; case "wellington-boots": echo "10012"; break; case "lace-up-boots": echo "10609"; break; case "chelsea-and-jodphur-boots": echo "10609"; break; case "desert-and-chukka-boots": echo "10032"; break; case "lace-up-shoes": echo "10034"; break; case "slip-on-shoes": echo "10043"; break; case "gibson-and-derby-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "oxford-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "brogue-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "winter-boots": echo "10021"; break; case "slipper-shoes": echo "10016"; break; case "mid-heel-shoes": echo "10039"; break; case "sandals-and-beach-shoes": echo "10044"; break; case "mid-heel-sandals": echo "10042"; break; case "mid-heel-boots": echo "10014"; break; default: echo ""; } ?>, http://www.getashoe.co.uk/full/<?=$line['product_id']?>_1.jpg, http://www.getashoe.co.uk/full/<?=$line['product_id']?>_2.jpg, http://www.getashoe.co.uk/full/<?=$line['product_id']?>_3.jpg, http://www.getashoe.co.uk/full/<?=$line['product_id']?>_4.jpg, , , , , <? $colour = preg_replace('/[^\da-z]/i', ' ', $line['colour']); if( preg_match( '/white.*/i', $colour)) { echo '1'; } elseif( preg_match( '/yellow.*/i', $colour)) { echo '4'; } elseif( preg_match( '/orange.*/i', $colour)) { echo '7'; } elseif( preg_match( '/red.*/i', $colour)) { echo '8'; } elseif( preg_match( '/pink.*/i', $colour)) { echo '13'; } elseif( preg_match( '/purple.*/i', $colour)) { echo '15'; } elseif( preg_match( '/blue.*/i', $colour)) { echo '19'; } elseif( preg_match( '/green.*/i', $colour)) { echo '25'; } elseif( preg_match( '/brown.*/i', $colour)) { echo '28'; } elseif( preg_match( '/grey.*/i', $colour)) { echo '35'; } elseif( preg_match( '/black.*/i', $colour)) { echo '38'; } elseif( preg_match( '/gold.*/i', $colour)) { echo '41'; } elseif( preg_match( '/silver.*/i', $colour)) { echo '46'; } elseif( preg_match( '/multi.*/i', $colour)) { echo '594'; } elseif( preg_match( '/beige.*/i', $colour)) { echo '6887'; } elseif( preg_match( '/nude.*/i', $colour)) { echo '6887'; } else { echo '534'; } ?>, <?=$line['colour']?>, <?=$con_size[$x]?> <br> <? // finish checking if size is available } } ?> So at the moment this is simply echoing out the product_ID into the SKU column. The code would need to enter the product_id into an array and check whether it is unique. If the product_id is unique to the array, then the product_id is echoed out unaltered, and parent is echoed out to the 'Parent/Child' column and then the product_id is repeated to the 'Parent SKU' column. However, if the array is checked and the product_id already exists in the array, then the product_id is echoed out to the 'SKU' column with a suffix i.e. _1. Then child is echoed to the 'Parent / Child' column and the original parent product_id echoed to the 'Parent SKU' column. HOWEVER - the same SKU cannot be repeated with the same suffix i.e. 12345_1, 12345_1 - so presumably there would be to be another array for the suffixed SKUs to be checked against. If anybody could help, it would be great. Thanks --- UPDATE ANSWER --- I managed to solved this myself and thought I would share my solution for future reference. /* * Array to collect product_ids and check whether unique. * If unique product_id becomes parent SKU * If not product_id becomes child of previous parent and suffixed with _1, _2 etc... */ if (!in_array($line['product_id'], $SKU)) { $SKU[] = $line['product_id']; $parent = $line['product_id']; $a = 0; ?> <? echo 'Shoes'; ?>, <? echo $parent; ?>, <? echo "Parent"; ?>, <? echo $parent; ?>, <? } else { $child = $line['product_id'] . "_" . $a; ?> <? echo 'Shoes'; ?>, <? echo $child; ?>, <? echo "Child"; ?>, <? echo $child; <? // increment suffix value for child SKU $a++; ?>

  • PHP DOMDocument Error Handling Problem

    - by Jon
    I'm having trouble trying to write an if statement for DOM that will check if $html is blank. However whenever the html page does end up blank, it just removes everything that would be below DOM (including what I had to check if it was blank). $html = file_get_contents("http://example.com/"); $dom = new DOMDocument; @$dom->loadHTML($html); $links = $dom->getElementById('dividhere')->getElementsByTagName('img'); foreach ($links as $link) { echo $link->getAttribute('src'); } All this does is grab an image url in the specified div, which works perfectly until the page is a blank html page. I've tried using SimpleHTMLDOM, which didn't work either (it didn't even fetch the image on working pages). Did I happen to miss something with this one or am I just missing something in both? include_once('simple_html_dom.php') $html = file_get_html("http://example.com/"); foreach($html->find('div[id="dividhere"]') as $div) { if(empty($div->src)) { continue; } echo $div->src; }

  • PHP Thumbnail Image Resizing with proportions

    - by Sam
    Hi all. As a brief run down, I am currently making a dating type site. Users can create accounts and upload profile pictures (up to 8). In order to display these in the browse area of the website, I am looking for a way in PHP (with third party processor/scripts) to resize all images uploaded to have thumbnails that adhere to certain dimensions. As an example, I will want "profile" images (thumbnails) to be NO larger than 120*150px. The scripting needs to resize uploaded images (regardless of whether they are portrait or landscape, and regardless of proportions) to adhere to these dimensions without getting stretched. The width (eg. 120pixels) should always remain the same, but the height (eg. 150px) can vary in order to keep the image in proportion. If it's a landscape photo, I'm assuming the script would need to take a chunk out of the middle of the image? The reason that all images to be resized is so that when profiles are display in a grid that all thumbnails are roughly the same size. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • Multiple items in a PHP shopping cart

    - by Nick
    I'm in the progress of making a shopping cart in PHP. To check if a user has selected multiple products, I put everything in an array ($contents). When I output it, I get something like "14,14,14,11,10". I'd like to have something like "3 x 14, 1 x 11, 1 x 10". What is the easiest way to do that? I really have no clue how to do it. This is the most important part of my code. $_SESSION["cart"] = $cart; if ( $cart ) { $items = explode(',', $cart); $contents = array(); $i = 0; foreach ( $items as $item ) { $contents[$item] = (isset($contents[$item])) ? $contents[$item] + 1 : 1; $i++; } $smarty->assign("amount",$i); echo '<pre>'; print_r($contents); echo '</pre>'; Thanks in advance.

  • PHP function returns ZERO.

    - by hypnocode
    Hi guys, I'm having trouble with this PHP function. It keeps returning zero, but I know the SQL statement works because I've queried it myself. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The last line makes no sense to me...I'm editing this code that someone else wrote. This function should return a number in the hundreds, assuming the date is in March. Thanks! function getCountBetweenDays($day1,$day2,$service) { global $conn; if ($service==1){ $query = "SELECT COUNT(*) as NUM FROM `items` WHERE `modified` BETWEEN '$day1 00:00:00' AND '$day2 23:59:59';";} elseif($service==2){ $query = "SELECT COUNT(*) as NUM FROM `items` WHERE `modified` BETWEEN '$day1 00:00:00' AND '$day2 23:59:59';";} elseif($service==3){ $query = "SELECT COUNT(*) as NUM FROM `items` WHERE `modified` BETWEEN '$day1 00:00:00' AND '$day2 23:59:59';";} $result = mysql_query($query,$conn); $num = mysql_fetch_array ($result); return $num['NUM']; }

  • PHP Resize image down and crop using imagemagick

    - by mr12086
    I'm trying to downsize image uploaded by users at the time of upload. This is no problem but I want to get specific with sizes now. I'm looking for some advice on an algorithm im struggling to produce that will take any shape image - square or rectangle of any widths/heights and downsize it. This image needs to be downsized to a target box size (this changes but is stored in a variable).. So it needs to downsize the image so that both the width and height are larger than the width and height of the target maintaining aspect ratio. but only just.. The target size will be used to crop the image so there is no white space around the edges etc. I'm looking for just the algorithm behind creating the correct resize based on different dimension images - I can handle the cropping, even resizing in most cases but it fails in a few so i'm reaching out. I'm not really asking for PHP code more pseudo. Either is fine obviously. Thanks Kindly.

  • PHP image watermark only displaying image on page

    - by Satch3000
    I am testing a script where I watermark an image in my webpage. The script works fine and the image is watermark but my problem is that only the image is displayed on the page. As soon as I add the script to my page it's like the web page is converted to the image that I'm watermarking. I think it's because of header("content-type: image/jpeg"); from the code. I need to watermark the image on my webpage but I also need the rest of my webpage to be displayed too. How is this done? I'm quite confused on how this works. The script I'm using is from here Here's the code I'm using: <?php $main_img = "Porsche_911_996_Carrera_4S.jpg"; // main big photo / picture $watermark_img = "watermark.gif"; // use GIF or PNG, JPEG has no tranparency support $padding = 3; // distance to border in pixels for watermark image $opacity = 100; // image opacity for transparent watermark $watermark = imagecreatefromgif($watermark_img); // create watermark $image = imagecreatefromjpeg($main_img); // create main graphic if(!$image || !$watermark) die("Error: main image or watermark could not be loaded!"); $watermark_size = getimagesize($watermark_img); $watermark_width = $watermark_size[0]; $watermark_height = $watermark_size[1]; $image_size = getimagesize($main_img); $dest_x = $image_size[0] - $watermark_width - $padding; $dest_y = $image_size[1] - $watermark_height - $padding; // copy watermark on main image imagecopymerge($image, $watermark, $dest_x, $dest_y, 0, 0, $watermark_width, $watermark_height, $opacity); // print image to screen header("content-type: image/jpeg"); imagejpeg($image); imagedestroy($image); imagedestroy($watermark); ?> NOTE: I'm getting the image path from the database so I cannot hardcode the image filename as it's dynamic.

  • PHP News Feed Database & Design

    - by pws5068
    I'm designing a News Feed system using PHP/MySQL similar to facebook's. I have asked a similar question before but now I've changed the design and I'm looking for feedback. Example News: User_A commented on User_B's new album. "Hey man nice pictures!" User_B added a new Photo to [his/her] profile. [show photo thumbnail] Initially, I implemented this using excessive columns for Obj1:Type1 | Obj2:Type2 | etc.. Now the design is set up using a couple special keywords, and actor/receiver relationships. My database uses a table of messages joined on a table containing userid,actionid,receiverid,receiverObjectTypeID, Here's a condensed version of what it will look like once joined: News_ID | User_ID | Message | Timestamp 2643 A %a commented on %o's new %r. SomeTimestamp 2644 B %a added a new %r to [his/her] profile. SomeTimestamp %a = the User_ID of the person doing the action %r = the receiving object %o = the owner of the receiving object (for example the owner of the album) (NULL if %r is a user) Questions: Is this a smart (efficient/scalable) way to move forward? How can I show messages like: "User_B added 4 new photos to his profile."?

  • PHP: Next Available Value in an Array, starting with a non-indexed value

    - by Erik Smith
    I've been stumped on this PHP issue for about a day now. Basically, we have an array of hours formatted in 24-hour format, and an arbitrary value ($hour) (also a 24-hour). The problem is, we need to take $hour, and get the next available value in the array, starting with the value that immediately proceeds $hour. The array might look something like: $goodHours = array('8,9,10,11,12,19,20,21). Then the hour value might be: $hour = 14; So, we need some way to know that 19 is the next best time. Additionally, we might also need to get the second, third, or fourth (etc) available value. The issue seems to be that because 14 isn't a value in the array, there is not index to reference that would let us increment to the next value. To make things simpler, I've taken $goodHours and repeated the values several times just so I don't have to deal with going back to the start (maybe not the best way to do it, but a quick fix). I have a feeling this is something simple I'm missing, but I would be so appreciative if anyone could shed some light. Erik
