  • Access User Meta Data on User Registration in Wordpress

    Hiya, I am attempting to carry out a few functions when a user registers on a wordpress site. Any ideas how i execute a function once Wordpress has completed the whole registration process of adding meta data into the relevant tables too? I attempted to use this: add_filter('user_register ','tml_new_user_registered',99); But with no luck unfortunately. Thanks in advance!

    I'm using the WhitePages API ( developer.whitepages.com ) to get a phone type (landline or cellular) and the phone's service provider (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc), but they only have a personal API which limits you to 2 calls a second and/or 1,500 calls a day. The paid version, or "Pro", is a minimum of $500 a month and/or $0.10 a call. Does anyone know another service where I can get that information for free or cheaper than $500 / $0.10 a call? If not I'll have to try to cache everything and it'll technically be against their TOS...

(with the period.) I would like to do this in such a way that doesn't require knowledge of other templates in any other template. So, for instance, I would like to be able to add a "util:add-colon" method without having to open up the hood and monkey with the existing templates. I was playing around with the <xsl:next-match/> instruction to accomplish this. Adding it to the first template above does of course invoke both util:uppercase and util:add-period, but the output is an aggregation of each template output (i.e. 'STRINGstring.') It seems like there should be an elegant way to chain any number of templates together using something like <xsl:next-match/>, but have the output of each template feed the input of the next one in the chain. Am I overlooking something obvious?

  • Wordpress include custom page

    Hi, I'm sure this is a simple question. But how do I get Wordpress at startup to ignore trying to load a Page or Post and instead load my custom page? When in the Wordpress bootstrap process is it decided which php-page is going to load? I will have the following url: bt.local/wp/ads/1 And would like a php-page called ads.php to be loaded and load the ad with adid = 1. What's the best way to solve this? (there's no Post called ads and there's no Page called Ads). Thank you! KR Josef

  • Why does resolveBinding() return null even though I setResolveBindings(true) on my ASTParser?

    I am writing an Eclipse plug-in that uses JDT AST's ASTParser to parse a method. I am looking within that method for the creation of a particular type of object. When I find a ClassInstanceCreation, I call getType() on it to see what type is being instantiated. I want to be sure that the fully-resolved type being dealt with there is the one I think it is, so I tell the resultant Type object to resolveBinding(). I get null back even though there are no compilation errors and even though I called setResolveBindings(true) on my ASTParser.     Hi guys. I'm building a site, and I need to query my last two tracks from my soundcloud account and display them on my page. I've read the Soundcloud API documentation but it seems obscure and far from my reach. I've installed the PHP library for using the API and Oauth, and set up my SoundCloud application to get my Consumer Keys, but I can't start the OAuth session. I'm using this library. I was wondering if maybe you could hand me some sample code for doing this. That would be great!!

    I want to submit form and show message about result. update_records initializes alert_message to error message. If success I expect that its value is changed. Than update_records outputs message. But the function always alerts "Error submitting form". What is wrong with this? The only problem i have now is that i want the widget to "auto activate" in the sidebar. So when the theme is installed on any wordpress installation the widget should be active so the user dosent need to drag it to the sidebar in admin. Is that possible?

  • Fluently setting C# properties and chaining methods

    I'm using .NET 3.5. We have some complex third-party classes which are automatically generated and out of my control, but which we must work with for testing purposes. I see my team doing a lot of deeply-nested property getting/setting in our test code, and it's getting pretty cumbersome. To remedy the problem, I'd like to make a fluent interface for setting properties on the various objects in the hierarchical tree. There are a large number of properties and classes in this third-party library, and it would be too tedious to map everything manually. My initial thought was to just use object initializers. Red, Blue, and Green are properties, and Mix() is a method that sets a fourth property Color to the closest RGB-safe color with that mixed color. Paints must be homogenized with Stir() before they can be used. Bucket b = new Bucket() { Paint = new Paint() { Red = 0.4; Blue = 0.2; Green = 0.1; } }; That works to initialize the Paint, but I need to chain Mix() and other methods to it. Next attempt: Create<Bucket>(Create<Paint>() .SetRed(0.4) .SetBlue(0.2) .SetGreen(0.1) .Mix().Stir() ) But that doesn't scale well, because I'd have to define a method for each property I want to set, and there are hundreds of different properties in all the classes. Also, C# doesn't have a way to dynamically define methods prior to C# 4, so I don't think I can hook into things to do this automatically in some way. Third attempt: Create<Bucket>(Create<Paint>().Set(p => { p.Red = 0.4; p.Blue = 0.2; p.Green = 0.1; }).Mix().Stir() ) That doesn't look too bad, and seems like it'd be feasible. Is this an advisable approach? Is it possible to write a Set method that works this way? Or should I be pursuing an alternate strategy?

  • Why MSMQ won't send a space character?

    I'm exploring MSMQ services, and I wrote a simple console client-server application that sends each of the client's keystrokes to the server. Whenever hit a control character (DEL, ESC, INS, etc) the server understandably throws an error. However, whenever I type a space character, the server receives the packet but doesn't throw an error and doesn't display the space.
