  • squid transparent proxy on all ports

    I have setup squid as a transparent proxy by redirecting port 80 to the native squid port 3128. I know there are issues with getting secure ports like ssl and imaps to go though the proxy but can I redirect all other ports through the proxy as well. I am trying to get a better idea of bandwidth usage. I have setup iptables to log usage and i am getting most traffic going into the related/established rule. I am trying to determine the origins of this traffic by sending traffic to squid for more detailed logging.

  • I am currently serving my static files in Django. How do I use Apache2 to do this?

I would like to delete this line in my urls.py and instead us Apache to serve my static files. What do I do to my Apache configs (which files do I change) in order to do this? By the way, I installed Apache2 like normal: sudo aptitude install apache2

  • Multiple email accounts from the same server in Emacs Gnus

    I'm trying to set up Gnus to use both my gmail accounts but I can only ever get one at a time to show up in the list of folders. It prompts me for three username passwords on startup. After I enter all three, I can access my work account and the gmail account that I enter the creds for second. This is really annoying! Any ideas?

    I am on Windows 7 and using Firefox browser. I am using WiFi, but since the morning I cannot access the Internet via the browsers (Firefox, Chrome, or IE). The laptop shows there is Internet connection, Skype is online, but I can't reach the Internet. Then I launched Tor application which creates secure channel and provides its Firefox browser. Well, I can now access the Internet over that browser. So, what might be the problem causing this malfunction? The error: The connection has timed out The server at mail.google.com is taking too long to respond. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.   • How to iterate all query paths within an image header namespace in WIC?

    Hello All, I am using Windows Imaging Component to read/write image metadata in my WPF application. I would like to know if there is an efficient way to know if any paths exist within a namespace. For instance I would like to know if any paths within IPTC namespace exist and if not I want to delete the namespace from the image header. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.   • Ad Agency storage/file server +backup needed (NAS or something else?)

    Looking for a "this is all you need" recommendation. We're a small ad agency with both mac & pcs that access and share files from a 3 yr old Windows 2000 box (no server software). We currently have 1TB on the "server" and back it up to 2 different Seagate Free Agent Pro 1TB external drives. But we're low on space and are looking for something that's bigger, that we can still access from Mac & PC, EASY backup system, secure from viruses, firewall enabled. Not sure if a NAS will work or if we should have a real server. We don't really get on that box except to restore files, or run Norton on it. I hope I've provided enough for a general recommendation.     I build some dlls to be used in a big application, and have a team working in the dlls heart of the application and another team working in the gui, but i am having a problems in the deployment of the dll's when a change is done, because the gui team needs or copy the new dll to the project folder, or delete the old reference and add the new one. Is there a best practice to deal with this problem? I am using Visual Studio 2008 and devoloping int VB and C# Thanks !!!

    I installed it in my dev project. I would like to remove it and any trace of it in my database and my django app, not to mention my python install. I found it didn't quite do what I needed, but that's another topic, and I'm moving to South. Can I just delete the evolution tables in my django db, and remove it from the app settings? Or is there more to it?

  • maintaining redirects in nginx from an external source

    I am in the situation to give our marketing department the opportunity to maintain their redirects by their own. Until now, they passed the information to the IT department and we maintained it for them in nginx.conf. Some of these guys are quite familiar with redirections in IIS or even in apache but it is no option to give them direct access to the nginx configuration. I see, that there is no nginx support for .htaccess files which I could give access to and I would also prefer not to grant write access to an conf-file that nginx includes. I expect, that our marketing will break our nginx setup within hours... Is there a secure possibility without giving them access our the heart of our load balancer?

  • MVC Partial View Postback - Jquery validation lost

    I have a partial view which uses Jquery Valiation. This works OK when initially loaded, however after I do a ajax postback and return the partial view from the server with an error showing, the jquery validation seems to be lost. In that, if I delete a required field and hit save the partial view gets submitted, when I would expect it to show an error message and not get submitted. Does Jquery validation need to be initialised somehow for the form in the partial view?

I would like to detect when user has clicked on the left button of each cell (minus circular red button, the one that is animated with a rotation), just before the "Delete" button appears.     my primay key is user_id which is auto incremant UNSIGNED ZERO FILL, i want to display user_id on a page without leading Zero( means 1 instead of 0000000001 ).. how can we do that in php or in mysql one more question... if i delete last record( let user_id=21) wwhich have highest id of that table then can we adjust auto increment value to 21 instead of 22 of that table.

    I'm using Entity Framework for a new project (VS 2008, .net 3.5 sp1) and "reasonably happy" with it, especially compared to dataset-based solutions. One of recurring annoyances is "Could not find file CodeGenerationSchema.xsd" exception during application startup. Exception seems to re-appear rather frequently after changes to the model. Googling gives temporary and strange workarounds for this error: Delete .suo file, or Set Options Debugging General Enable Just My Code = On May be someone have more permanent, straightforward fix or can explain the reason of this issue.

    Hi We are looking into putting a hardware firewall into a data center to protect our rack of servers. We are using the servers for terminal services and we have 2 x 1GB connections to the Internet. We have about 50 servers supporting about 250 users which will grow very soon to 500 users. We plan to purchase 2 hardware firewalls to provide HA. Do you think the Sonicwall NSA 240 with Total Secure is a good match for this in terms of performance and protection (from spyware, virus etc?) or is there a better purchase? (Maybe a Watchguard X5 or X8?)

    I'm using identity specification for a table of sql server 2012. Let we have two Insert and then two Delete operation. After these operation primary key should start from 1, but it will start from 3. I'm worry about this problem causing no place for inserting new item after long time.
