    I am writing an application that needs simple data found (mostly) on the periodic table of elements, such as atomic mass, atomic number, state, etc. However, I would prefer not to manually enter this data. I managed to find the NIST website (http://www.nist.gov/pml/data/edi.cfm) with all of the data I need, but not in a downloadable format. Where can I find this data? Preferably, it would be in an XML/YAML/JSON/other documented format, however, any format would be helpful.

    I have been using .NET since beta and HTML since the days of HotDog pro & notepad, using table layout of course. I am FINALLY ready to use only div, li, CSS for the layout, but my question is, what is the proper way to layout pages in VS2010?   • jquery events on input submit fields

    I have a problem with jquery submit button onclick and default event. What I want to do is replace an click event on submit button if it has one, and get an dialog box to show up, on clicking yes the dialog should start that default onclick event if submit button has one defined, if it hasn't than the default event should happen (button submits form), .submit() function does not work for me in any case cause I need to send this button also through a form and if button wasn't clicked .submit() sends form data without submit data.     I am creating a XAML / C# WinRT App and i have a collection of collection and i am binding it to a Grid-view(collections as groups ) Now i have to color the background of the GridViewItem according to their index in the collection (Dark color for the first one and light color for the last one ) How can i implement using a converter.     I am trying to create a flash header like element in JQuery, that has three images that fade to other images. I have each group of images in a div, but the divs line up vertically down the page, I want them to line up horizontally in a row.   • How to pass json via a form element

    I have this swf (flash) file that provides the json that needs to be sent to the server. I wrote a very simple jQuery: function submitForm(swf_json) { $('#swfjson').val(swf_json); #swfjson is an input of type hidden $('#titleForm').submit(); } and the swf will call the submitForm above and I receive the request.POST in django as usual. But, django is interpreting the swf_json as a string "Object object" >>>type(request.POST['swfjson']) <type 'unicode'> Of course I can pass the json as a string to the view function. Doesn't seem good to me. Any other way of passing the json object to the django view?

    I'm working on a login system for a forum and trying to make it work via a c# .net form. I need to programitically click the login button on the forum with a webBrower control.     I am trying to create multiple dependent dropdowns (selects) with a unique way. I want to restrict the use of selectors and want to achieve this by using a single class selectors on all SELECTs; by figuring out the SELECT that was changed by its index. Hence, the SELECT[i] that changed will change the SELECT[i+1] only (and not the previous ones like SELECT[i-1]). For html like this: <select class="someclass"> <option value="volvo">Volvo</option> <option value="saab">Saab</option> <option value="mercedes">Mercedes</option> <option value="audi">Audi</option> </select> <select class="someclass"> </select> <select class="someclass"> </select> where the SELECTs other than the first one will get something via AJAX. I see that the following Javascript gives me correct value of the correct SELECT and the value of i also corresponds to the correct SELECT. $(function() { $(".someclass").each(function(i) { $(this).change(function(x) { alert($(this).val() + i); }); }); }); Please note that I really want the minimum selector approach. I just cannot wrap my head around on how to approach this. Should I use Arrays? Like store all the SELECTS in an Array first and then select those?   • Advise guidance on how to form this jQuery script for show/hide fade element

    Hey guys.. I basically have several links on the left side of the screen and on the right is a preview window. Below the preview window is another box for the affiliate link code. So what I am trying to do is create an affiliate page where you choose the banner size on the left by clicking on the link and on the right you see it dynamically change to the banner size and the code changes accordingly as well. So far I have the following code and it works but it seems very very cumbersome and bloated.   • how do I get a new line, after using float:left?

    What I am trying to do is have rows of images, 6 images in each row. Some of these images need to have another image floating on top of them (flush with the lower-right corner). I was able to get that to work from this thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/48474/how-do-i-position-one-image-on-top-of-another-in-html However, now I'm unable to get the new row after the 6th image. Neither <BR> or <P> create a new line. They simply push the next image down several pixels, but the image is still in the same line. It seems like the float style is interfering with the <BR> and/or <P>. I tried using different styles for the image that starts a new row, like float:none and display:block, but neither worked. The odd thing is that the new line starts after the 7th image.     This could just be a syntax error, but I'm trying to create a Document object from scratch, starting with document.implementation.createDocument() and then using jquery's append() method to add the elements. But it's not appending: var myDoc = document.implementation.createDocument("", 'stuff', null); $("stuff",myDoc).attr("test","tested"); $("stuff",myDoc).append("<test>A</test>"); $("<test>B</test>").appendTo("stuff",soapEnv); var s = new XMLSerializer(); alert(s.serializeToString(soapEnv)); This should output: <stuff test="tested"> <test>A</test> <test>B</test> </stuff> But instead it outputs: <stuff test="tested" /> So the selector seems to be working, just not the method. My only guess is the method doesn't account for the fact that elements are empty (<stuff />) until they have children. But that's just a guess.
