• How to make JQGrid scroll properly in IE6?

  I've got a JQGrid that needs to scroll. It works fine in Firefox, but in IE6, the grid stays stationary while the rest of the content scrolls underneath it. What might be a complicating factor is that the grid is inside tabs, inside a dialog. I've googled all over the place, but I can't find a solution for this problem, so I turn to Stackoverflow. Does anyone here know what could cause this behavior? I'm using jqgrid 3.5.3, should that matter.

• Data table to Excel conversion leaves my server side button non responsive in SharePoint WebPart

  We have a web part on which we display some data in a grid. We are exporting grid's underlying datatable to Excel and displaying Open - Save - Cancel dialouge box on click of a server side button. Following is the code we are executing on click of server side button. this.Page.Response.Clear(); this.Page.Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=MyTasks.xls"); this.Page.Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel"; this.Page.Response.Write("...here goes my well formated html...."); this.Page.Response.End(); Problem is that when i click on Cancel in the diaglouge box then dialogue box to Open/Save excel disappears but all the server side buttons placed on my web part becomes non responsive, on click of any of those buttons their server side click event does not get fired !!! • Bind selected value on combobox to view model

  Hi, I have my silverlight app which pulls data into a datagrid from a view model. The vm is exposed via Mef. I also have a details grid which has comboboxes. The vm also contains the data to populate the combobox values. Upon first load, everything works fine and the selected items on te comboboxes are correct and I can select alternative values. However, if I sort my main data grid (allow sort=true) then I find the binding for selected value on the comboboxes dissapear. The combobox is still populated with data but nothing is selected. Has anyone come across this issue before? I am unsure how to solve this one. Thanks

  I want to understand event cycles. I have a form with a grid and textboxes. It has a grid, bound to DataTable, and textboxes bound to same table too. I'm trying to debug something and need to know how to identify ALL events fired in the form to see what may solve an issue for me. Anyhow, unless I explicitly subclass every class on my form, and override / attach to every event to my own event handlers, how can I get / listen to all events being fired during a certain action... Such as changing a "Selected" road in a DataGridView. It obviously updates its own "CurrentRow"... I need to know what / how to maybe FORCE a re-loading of SAME CurrentRow. Reason: during a form level "Edit Mode", and I change the content in another "Textbox" control, and reject changes, I need it to simulate the current "Record" is reloaded to go back to its original values.

• Opening Visual Studio created XAML in Expression Blend

  I have created a console application using Visual Studio 2008. In a few cases, this application shows a WPF dialog. Now, the design view of Visual Studio is a little limited, so I'd like to edit this dialog using Expression Blend 3. Blend does not seem to have an option to load individual XAML files, and when I open my solution in Blend, only the XAML code is displayed when I try to edit the dialog. Edit: I've noticed, that no IntelliSense is available in the text view either. When I create a new WPF Project inside Blend, and copy my dialog there (overwriten MainWindows.xaml), I get a design view. What do I have to do to actually get a design view here?   Property grid do not show new value of selected object. For example: o.val = "1"; pg.SelectedObject = o; o.val = "2"; pg.Refresh(); The property in property grid still "1"; It is changing only if click on this property.. or like that: o.val = "1"; pg.SelectedObject = o; o.val = "2"; pg.SelectedObject = o; but in this case focus will be changed to propertygrid.

• Guiding a Robot Through a Path

  I have a field filled with obstacles, I know where they are located, and I know the robot's position. Using a path-finding algorithm, I calculate a path for the robot to follow. Now my problem is, I am guiding the robot from grid to grid but this creates a not-so-smooth motion. I start at A, turn the nose to point B, move straight until I reach point B, rinse and repeat until the final point is reached. So my question is: What kind of techniques are used for navigating in such an environment so that I get a smooth motion? The robot has two wheels and two motors. I change the direction of the motor by turning the motors in reverse. EDIT: I can vary the speed of the motors basically the robot is an arduino plus ardumoto, I can supply values between 0-255 to the motors on either direction.

• jQuery Sortable + Droppable z-index problem

  I am having a probelm with the z-index of my sortable object not being above my droppable. If you visit http://clareshilland.unknowndomain.co.uk/. Press Ctrl + L to bring up the login screen. Enter the username clare and the password shilland. It will then load in the admin bar and if you click manage gallery. A pop down thumbnail view will appear with all the photos from that gallery. The issue is that when you drag the 'polaroids' from the grid to the delete area they are under the delete area. I tried putting the delete area inside the same div as the grid but it makes no difference, I just don't know what to do at this point so any help would be a massive help!

• WCF: What is the practical difference between transport and message reliability?

  Hello I am looking at differences between using WPF in .NET or using Silverlight 4 for the GUI front end of an app that connects to WCF services. I have read that net.tcp binding in Silverlight 4 only supports transport level reliability. With a WPF desktop app we can use message level reliability. What is the actual difference? If transport level reliability ensures that all TCP packets get through, doesnt that also mean that all WCF SOAP messages will also get through? I am also concerned that Silverlight only supports async message but thats a different issue. Thanks

  Sorry for the question marks, but a simple (I think) question has an impossible solution. From file system, if I click on an image file "Properties | Details tab" I access to many metadata. I need to access from a WPF application to the Description properties (Title, Subject, Rating, Tag and Comment). In particular Tag. I have found a lot of articles, many are very old. A few in WPF and Imaging library. But no one access to that properties. So the question marks: are these properties on image? On file system?   Hi, Currently I have an Silverlight application that when run on Firefox browser (ver 3.6) the entire contents of the Silverlight application shifts a little, and also the scrollbars on both the bottom and the side appear when I first use it. This does not happen in IE 8. How can I fix this in Firefox so it doesn't happen? The project type I created was the "Silverlight 3 Application + Website" via Expression Blend 3. • How to represent a Board Panel in Java for a game ?

  I wanna fix a 2D board for a game. I've already fixed other panels for the Gui and everything goes well. But the panel for the board cant be printed on the window. I'm a bit confused about it as i think i've followed the same ideas as for the others panels i need. Here's what i've done: EDIT:*EDIT* what i'm trying to do is fix a board panel for the game according to the dimensions of the it,hold every square in an array in order to use it after wherever it;s needed. I draw each little square of it with the method draw and put it back to the panel. So, each square on the board is a panel. This is the idea. But as u can see. There are troubles/errors on it. EDIT: code updated. just found a part of the problem. i thought first that i had set background to squared, but i didnt. with this one it appears on the panel a wide black "column". Unfortunately,still none squares. :( One More EDIT: Also,i realized that draw method is never called. when i put the draw method in the following method i can see the squares but they remain small. I redefine them with setSize but still no change. How can I use paint method to edit the panels properly???? As it is now it can't. • .net Studio Local Database

  Hello everyone, i am designing a local database in .net with wpf as gui. I have added a new database, and added a new table. Through the TableAdapter i generated 2 statements ( 1 statement is a select stmt and 1 is a insert) , i insert name and firstname (id is auto generated).   Hello, I've been searching for a while and browsing through the samples but could not find a solution to my problem. In Microsoft Chart Control I have created a line series that plots real-time data. As new data points are added, the chart margins will sometimes jump on the form. I have tried disabling the grid lines and have determined that the margins change when the x-axis label overlaps with the y-axis label. I have tried auto-fitting the labels but that does not seem to work probably because it treat x-axis and y-axis separately. Is there any way to prevent the overlap, or keep the labels and corresponding grid lines stationery and just change their value when the data scrolls? Thank you for your help.

• How can I make a read only version of a class?

  I have a class with various public properties which I allow users to edit through a property grid. For persistence this class is also serialized/deserialized to/from an XML file through DataContractSerializer. Sometimes I want to user to be able to save (serialize) changes they've made to an instance of the class. Yet at other times I don't want to allow the user to save their changes, and should instead see all the properties in the property grid as read only. I don't want to allow users to make changes that they'll never be able to save later. Similar to how MS Word will allow users to open documents that are currently opened by someone else but only as read only. My class has a boolean property that determines if the class should be read-only, but is it possible to use this property to somehow dynamically add a read-only attributes to the class properties at run-time? If not what is an alternative solution? Should I wrap my class in a read-only wrapper class?

• Modal PopUp Extender labels wont update on Asynchronous Postback

  Hi everyone! I have a ModalPopUpExtender with an UpdatePanel on it. On the UpdatePanel,there few labels and componentart Grid which Updates from the server on every Asynchronous postback when an image button is clicked. The Problem is that the server code updates the modalpopupextender labels as the information on the grid but it wont display the Updated version of it on the modal Popup Extender. Need some Help...   I'm fairly new to using JSON objects and I'm kinda stuck. I've got an JSON object that was converted from this array: Array ( [status] => success [id] => 1 [name] => Zone 1 [description] => Awesome zone deze.. I'm building a map editor and to put more tiles on the map, i'll have to add values to this json object. This is how I would do it in PHP: mapData[column][row] = array( 'tileID' => 1, 'rotation' => 0 ); So my question is, how do I achieve this with a JSON object in javascript? Thanks in advance! • Can I make DataGridView.EndEdit trigger the CellValidating event?

  I'm using a DataGridView in my WinForms application. My main objective is to make the Enter key not move to the next row in the grid. I still want the enter key to validate and end edit mode. I found this FAQ entry and subclassed DataGridView to override ProcessDialogKey(). If the key pressed is Enter, I call EndEdit(), otherwise I call base.ProcessDialogKey(). It works great, except the CellValidating event isn't fired. Currently, I'm just manually calling my validation logic before I call EndEdit, but it seems like I'm missing something. I guess I could call OnCellValidating, but then I'd be worried I'm missing some other event. What I really want is some flavour of EndEdit() that behaves just like pressing enter on the last row of a grid with adding disabled.

• How to use a dialog in an Excel shared addin

  I'm writing a shared addin for Excel. It adds a CommandBarButton that when clicked opens a WPF window to collect some information from the user. I wanted to keep the same WPF dialog in memory and reuse it so that if the user clicks the CommandBarButton again their previous values would still be there. So I made a reference to my WPD as a private member of my addin object that implements Extensibility.IDTExtensibility2. I created the window during OnStartupComplete(), but for some reason when I run Excel the window immediately opens even though I never called ShowDialog() and when I do call ShowDialog() when the CommandBarButton is clicked to reOpen the window it fails to load. Does anyone know why this happens and what the correct way to handle this is? Thanks very much for any help.
