  • List of items with same values

    - by user559780
    I'm creating a list of items from a file BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream("H:/temp/data.csv"))); try { List<Item> items = new ArrayList<Item>(); Item item = new Item(); String line = null; while ((line = reader.readLine()) != null) { String[] split = line.split(","); item.name = split[0]; item.quantity = Integer.valueOf(split[1]); item.price = Double.valueOf(split[2]); item.total = item.quantity * item.price; items.add(item); } for (Item item2 : items) { System.out.println("Item: " + item2.name); } } catch (IOException e) { reader.close(); e.printStackTrace(); } Problem is the list is displaying the last line in the file as the value for all items.

  • Android how do I wait until a service is actually connected?

    - by Ryan
    I have an Activity calling a Service defined in IDownloaderService.aidl: public class Downloader extends Activity { IDownloaderService downloader = null; // ... In Downloader.onCreate(Bundle) I tried to bindService Intent serviceIntent = new Intent(this, DownloaderService.class); if (bindService(serviceIntent, sc, BIND_AUTO_CREATE)) { // ... and within the ServiceConnection object sc I did this public void onServiceConnected(ComponentName name, IBinder service) { Log.w("XXX", "onServiceConnected"); downloader = IDownloaderService.Stub.asInterface(service); // ... By adding all kinds of Log.xx I found that the code after if(bindService(...)) actually goes BEFORE ServiceConnection.onServiceConnected is being called - that is, when downloader is still null - which gets me into trouble. All the samples in ApiDemos avoid this timing problem by only calling services when triggered by user actions. But what should I do to right use this service after bindService succeeds? How can I wait for ServiceConnection.onServiceConnected being called reliably?

  • AS3 function running before variables are defined!

    - by Jeffrey
    I am trying to add an init() function to a MovieClip, but when I run the function from scene1 the variables that were set in the MovieClip are not defined yet... The MovieClip was dragged to the stage from the library. scene1: mc.init(null); MovieClip: var _default = 5; function init(num) { if(num == null) { trace(_default); } else { trace(num); } } This is tracing "undefined" instead of "5"; Is there a way of fixing this problem?

  • sharepoint spweb and spsite disposal

    - by user327045
    I've been using the following code in a .NET 1.1 SharePoint 2003 environment and it works great: try { site = SPControl.GetContextSite(Context); web = site.OpenWeb(); ... } catch (Exception export) { output.Write("Caught Exception: <br/><br/>"); output.Write(export.Message + "<br><br>"); output.Write(export.StackTrace); } finally { if (web != null) web.Dispose(); if (site != null) site.Dispose(); } However, I'm currently porting the code to a .NET 2.0 SharePoint 2007 environment and I get the following error message: "Trying to use an SPWeb object that has been closed or disposed and is no longer valid." If I comment out the Dispose() code, it works fine. But won't this cause memory leaks? What's the best way to fix the problem?

    Hi, I'm trying to secure my WS client to be able to call the WS. String URL ="";//here is the wsdl url Map<String,Object> requestContext = stub.getRequestContext(); requestContext.put(BindingProvider.ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY, URL); //Set usernametoken URL fileURL = loader.getResource("client-config.xml"); File file = new File(fileURL.getFile()); FileInputStream clientConfig = null; try { clientConfig = new FileInputStream(file); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } XWSSecurityConfiguration config = null; try { config = SecurityConfigurationFactory.newXWSSecurityConfiguration(clientConfig); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); log.warn("Exception: "+e.getMessage()); } requestContext.put(XWSSecurityConfiguration.MESSAGE_SECURITY_CONFIGURATION, config); //Invoke the web service String requestId = null; try { requestId = sendSMS.sendSms(addresses, senderName, charging, message, receiptRequest); } catch (PolicyException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } catch (ServiceException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } and the config file looks like this: <xwss:JAXRPCSecurity xmlns:xwss="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/xwss/config" optimize="true"> <xwss:Service> <xwss:SecurityConfiguration dumpMessages="true" xmlns:xwss="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/xwss/config"> <xwss:UsernameToken name="username" password="password> </xwss:SecurityConfiguration> </xwss:Service> <xwss:SecurityEnvironmentHandler> util.SecurityEnvironmentHandler </xwss:SecurityEnvironmentHandler> </xwss:JAXRPCSecurity> The SecurityEnviromentHandler is a dummy class that implements javax.security.auth.callback.CallbackHandler.   • Reading a file over a network path

    - by Sin5k4
    I have this weird issue,when I use > File FileToRead = new File("\\\\MYSERVER\\MYFOLDER\\MYFOLDER\\MYPICTURE.JPG"); to read a file over a network,all I get is a null pointer exception.Normally a local path works with this,but when on a network path,I just couldn't manage to get it to work.Any ideas? PS:oh and my network connection seems to work,no issues when accessing data in windows explorer... More of the code: File FileToRead = new File("file://DOKSERVICE/Somefolder/ProductImage/01001.JPG"); // File FileToRead = new File("c:\\dog.jpg"); local test BufferedImage image = ImageIO.read(FileToRead); BufferedImage resizedimage = new BufferedImage(260, 260,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB ); Graphics2D g = resizedimage.createGraphics(); g.drawImage(image, 0, 0, 260, 260, null); g.dispose(); picture.setIcon(new ImageIcon(image));

  • Add Unique Key For Nullable Columns - SQL Server

    - by Ruby
    I'm using sql server 2008 R2 and would like to apply unique key constraint to nullable columns. This code works good, but if I have multiple columns to add this rule to, it would generate as many 'nullbuster' columns. ALTER TABLE tblBranch ADD nullbuster AS (CASE WHEN column1 IS NULL THEN BranchID ELSE NULL END); CREATE UNIQUE INDEX UK_Column1 ON tblBranch(column1,nullbuster); tblBranch is the table name, nullbuster would be the new column name, BranchId is the Primary key column of the target table, and Column1 is the column name of the target column. Is there any way that I could achieve the goal without generating new columns.

  • Spring & Hibernate SessionFactory - recovery from a down server

    - by MJB
    So pre spring, we used version of HibernateUtil that cached the SessionFactory instance if a successful raw JDBC connection was made, and threw SQLException otherwise. This allowed us to recover from initial setup of the SessionFactory being "bad" due to authentication or server connection issues. We moved to Spring and wired things in a more or less classic way with the LocalSessionFactoryBean, the C3P0 datasource, and various dao classes which have the SessionFactory injected. Now, if the SQL server appears to not be up when the web app runs, the web app never recovers. All access to the dao methods blow up because a null sessionfactory gets injected. (once the sessionfactory is made properly, the connection pool mostly handles the up/down status of the sql server fine, so recovery is possible) Now, the dao methods are wired by default to be singletons, and we could change them to prototype. I don't think that will fix the matter though - I believe the LocalSessionFactoryBean is now "stuck" and caches the null reference (I haven't tested this yet, though, I'll shamefully admit). This has to be an issue that concerns people.

  • Notepad Tutorial: deleteDatabase() function

    - by FelixA
    Hello I have a short question to the notepad tutorial on the android website. I wrote a simple function in the tutorial code to delete the whole database. It looks like this: DataHelper.java public void deleteDatabase() { this.mDb.delete(DATABASE_NAME, null, null); } Notepadv1.java @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { boolean result = super.onCreateOptionsMenu(menu); menu.add(0, DELETE_ID, 0, "Delete whole Database"); return result; } @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { switch (item.getItemId()) { case DELETE_ID: mDbHelper.deleteDatabase(); return true; } return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item); } But when I run the app and try to delete the database I will get this error in LogCat: sqlite returned: error code = 1, msg= no such table: data Can you help how to fix this problem. It seems that the function deleteDatabase can not reach the database. Thank you very much. Felix

  • Getting information from an XML object in PHP

    - by errata
    Hi! I am using some XML parser to get some information from API, blah blah... :) In one place in my script, I need to convert string to int but I'm not sure how... Here is my object: object(parserXMLElement)#45 (4) { ["name:private"]=> string(7) "balance" ["data:private"]=> object(SimpleXMLElement)#46 (1) { [0]=> string(12) "11426.46" } ["children:private"]=> NULL ["rows:private"]=> NULL } I need to have this string "11426.46" stored in some var as integer. When I echo $parsed->result->balance I get that string, but if I want to cast it as int, the result is: 1. Please help! Thanks a lot!

  • What is the role of asserts in C++ programs that have unit tests?

    - by lhumongous
    Greetings, I've been adding unit tests to some legacy C++ code, and I've run into many scenarios where an assert inside a function will get tripped during a unit test run. A common idiom that I've run across is functions that take pointer arguments and immediately assert if the argument is NULL. I could easily get around this by disabling asserts when I'm unit testing. But I'm starting to wonder if unit tests are supposed to alleviate the need for runtime asserts. Is this a correct assessment? Are unit tests supposed to replace runtime asserts by happening sooner in the pipeline (ie: the error is caught in a failing test instead of when the program is running). On the other hand, I don't like adding soft fails to code (eg: if(param == NULL) return false;). A runtime assert at least makes it easier to debug a problem in case a unit test missed a bug. Thanks!

  • 3d cube using canvas. Need a little improvement

    - by TimeManx
    I made this 3d cube using the following code Matrix mMatrix = canvas.getMatrix(); canvas.save(); camera.save(); camera.rotateY(-angle); camera.getMatrix(mMatrix); mMatrix.preTranslate(-width, 0); mMatrix.postTranslate(width, 0); canvas.concat(mMatrix); canvas.drawBitmap(bmp1, 0, 0, null); camera.restore(); canvas.restore(); camera.rotateY(90 - angle); camera.getMatrix(mMatrix); mMatrix.preTranslate(-width, 0); mMatrix.postTranslate(width2, 0); canvas.concat(mMatrix); canvas.drawBitmap(bmp2, width, 0, null); This is what it gives But what I need is It's because when Camera rotates the images, some part of the image gets hidden. Like this But I think this can be done.

  • How to user unloadStyleDeclarations?

    - by user300675
    I have a flex4 applciation (mx+spark). When I use: FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.styleManager.loadStyleDeclarations(skinName, true); This works fine: new style is applied. The trouble is when I apply a new style, it mixes both: this happens because I need to Unload style first. I try to unload it with: FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.styleManager.unloadStyleDeclarations("style/normal.swf",false); And I always got an error: ReferenceError: Error #1069: La property 0 cannot be found on Number and there is no default value. at normal/unloadOverrides()[null/normal-generated.as:721] at normal/unload()[null/normal-generated.as:676] Any idea on how to load/unload swf css in Flex4?

  • Prepared statement initialized tiwice and closed once

    Hi, I want to know that if a PreparedStatement object is initialized twice the way shown in code snippet below and closed only once in finally block, will it fail to close? I am not getting any error in this code but will it be a better idea to use 2 different preparedStatements instead of one. I think it fails to close the preparedStatement at #1. Connection conn = null; PreparedStatement ps = null; try { conn = getConnection(); ps = conn.prepareStatement(QueryUtil.UPDATE_POLICY_DETAILS); // #1 ps.setInt(1, iCancellationPolicyId); ps.executeUpdate(); //some code here ps = conn.prepareStatement(QueryUtil.UPDATE_POLICY_CHARGES); // #2 ps.setInt(1, iCancellationPolicyId); ps.executeUpdate(); //some code here } catch (SQLException sqlExp) { sqlExp.printStackTrace(); LOG.fatal(sqlExp); } finally { conn.close(); ps.close(); }

  • How to prevent CAST errors on SSIS ?

    - by manitra
    Hello, The question Is it possible to ask SSIS to cast a value and return NULL in case the cast is not allowed instead of throwing an error ? My environment I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and Sql Server 2005 on Windows Server 2003. The general context Just in case you're curious, here is my use case. I have to store data coming from somewhere in a generic table (key/value structure with history) witch contains some sort of value that can be strings, numbers or dates. The structure is something like this : table Values { Id int, Date datetime, -- for history Key nvarchar(50) not null, Value nvarchar(50), DateValue datetime, NumberValue numeric(19,9) } I want to put the raw value in the Value column and try to put the same value in the DateValue column when i'm able to cast it to Datetime in the NumberValue column when i'm able to cast it to a number Those two typed columns would make all sort of aggregation and manipulation much easier and faster later. That's it, now you know why i'm asking this strange question. ============ Thanks in advance for your help.

  • When accessing ResultSets in JDBC, is there an elegant way to distinguish between nulls and actual z

    - by Uri
    When using JDBC and accessing primitive types via a result set, is there a more elegant way to deal with the null/0 than the following: int myInt = rs.getInt(columnNumber) if(rs.wasNull())? { // Treat as null } else { // Treat as 0 } I personally cringe whenever I see this sort of code. I fail to see why ResultSet was not defined to return the boxed integer types (except, perhaps, performance) or at least provide both. Bonus points if anyone can convince me that the current API design is great :) My solution was to write a wrapper that returns an Integer (I care more about elegance of client code than performance), but I'm wondering if I'm missing a better way to do this.

  • Prevent duplicate rows with all non-unique columns (only with MySQL)?

    - by letseatfood
    Ho do I prevent a duplicate row from being created in a table with two columns, neither of which are unique? And can this be done using MySQL only, or does it require checks with my PHP script? Here is the CREATE query for the table in question (two other tables exist, users and roles): CREATE TABLE users_roles ( user_id INT(100) NOT NULL, role_id INT(100) NOT NULL, FOREIGN KEY (user_id) REFERENCES users(user_id), FOREIGN KEY (role_id) REFERENCES roles(role_id) ) ENGINE = INNODB; I would like the following query, if executed more than once, to throw an error: INSERT INTO users_roles (user_id, role_id) VALUES (1, 2); Please do not recommend bitmasks as an answer. Thanks!

  • SQL validation!

    - by Filip
    I am pretty new in SQL so this may be a stupid question... I have a form in PHP which fills in few fields in my SQL table. I have this code: $sql="INSERT INTO $tbl_name (app_name, app_path, short_desc, full_desc) VALUES ('$_POST[app_name]', '$_POST[app_path]', '$_POST[short_desc]', '$_POST[full_desc]')"; But even app_name and app_path are NOT NULL columns, the query can be executed if there is no text in these fields in the form. So, my question is: How to stop the execution of the query if there is no text in the NOT NULL fields ?
