  • Issue on maven 2.2.1

    I wrote a small maven plugin and everything seems to work well with prior version of maven (2.0.9) but my build fails on version 2.2.1 The stack trace does not show anything from my end of the code and was wondering if anyone has encountered this issue. .... ....   • Link error (LNK2019) when including other projects in Visual Studio 2005

    I am trying to work with several projects on visual studio 2005. I have one project that depends on two others. I have included those two project in the first project solution, and set the dependencies correctly. I get this error when linking the project: 1>server_controller.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: __thiscall server_communication::TcpServer::TcpServer(class boost::asio::io_service &,struct server_communication::ServerParameters &)" (??0TcpServer@server_communication@@QAE@AAVio_service@asio@boost@@AAUServerParameters@1@@Z) referenced in function "public: __thiscall server_controller::ServerController::ServerController(class std::basic_string<char,struct std::char_traits<char>,class std::allocator<char> >,class std::basic_string<char,struct std::char_traits<char>,class std::allocator<char> >)" (??0ServerController@server_controller@@QAE@V?$basic_string@DU?$char_traits@D@std@@V?$allocator@D@2@@std@@0@Z) I seems that the symbols can not be found in the other projects, even though there are defined in those projects.

  • Interface Builder caching bad data (voodoo)

    Sometimes IB will hold onto old or bad references, and I cannot seem to remove or edit them. EDIT I have made this a wiki question with the intention of gathering more data on the phenomenon. Answers involving situations where other coders have encountered this are welcome. This happened to me again last night with a table controller. When I created a spike project to try and reproduce the error, the system worked the way I anticipated. Then back in the actual project the bad behavior continued, even if I remove the xib file and all controllers involved. Creating a whole new project with none of the original (problematic) xib and nib files worked correctly. This question is not about the specifics of this incident but about this type of incident in IB. Does anyone know more about this type of bad IB behaviour, and possibly a more stylish way to to eliminate it than nuking the project? Note, removing the offending IB files and recreating them in the same project has not solved this for me in the past, only whole new projects. Answers regarding examples of when/how this glitch has been observed/created are welcome as well.

This new feature moves GoldenGate’s capture capabilities closer to the Oracle Database engine and is the foundation for Oracle GoldenGate on the Oracle Database platform over the long term. It is important to note that Integrated Capture does not replace our classic Capture process. Both are available on the Oracle Database platform. The Integrated Capture mechanism relies on Oracle’s internal log parsing and processing to capture DML transactions. By moving closer to the Oracle Database engine, Oracle GoldenGate can take advantage of new Oracle Database features and functionality more quickly. For example, this new mechanism allows GoldenGate to support advanced features such as compression. Integrated Capture provides support for all flavors of Oracle compression, including hybrid columnar compression (EHCC) on Exadata, where as our “Classic” capture would not. Integrated Capture supports two different deployment configurations; On-Source and Downstream. The on-source deployment model is what most customers are familiar with. Oracle GoldenGate is executing on the database server capturing changes in real time. This is the default deployment method. The other option is downstream, where the source database and the Oracle GoldenGate Capture process are on different machines. This method effectively off-loads the processing requirements to a second machine.   • Django apache-wsgi configuration problem

    Hi, I am trying to get my Django project running on the production server. I setup the environment using pip, so it is identical to the development environment where everything is running fine. The only difference is that I don't use virtualenv on production, because this project is the only one that is going to run on production. Also on production, there is an Nginx reverse proxy to serve static content, and passes dynamic requests to Apache2. The Apache wsgi file is as follows: import sys, os sys.path.append('/home/project/src') os.environ['DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE'] = 'settings' import django.core.handlers.wsgi application = django.core.handlers.wsgi.WSGIHandler() When I access the server, I get an import error: ImproperlyConfigured: Error importing middleware middleware: "cannot import name UserProfile" Which refers to the middleware.py under src/ folder which is referred by the settings. But I can import both the middleware and the UserProfile class from within ./manage.py shell prompt. It seems like a problem with paths in wsgi file but I cannot see what. The directory structure is: /home/project /home/project/src (which contains the settings.py, middleware.py and app folders) /home/apache/apache.wsgi Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, oMat

    i am not sure if this is the correct way of doing but i read that you not suppose to have a WCF Service Library reference in your web form project rather you add endpoints to your web.config, is that true? here is what i have done: 1) create a WCF service library project 2) create a simple service called "MyService.svc" WebForm: 1) Create a web project 2) create a WCF Service and in it i have this code <%@ ServiceHost Language="C#" Service="WCFJQuery.ContactBLL.Implementation.ContactUs" Factory="System.ServiceModel.Activation.WebScriptServiceHostFactory" %> 3) right click on the web proejct and "Add Reference" and add teh MyService.dll reference from WCF service library project. is this something how you suppose to do?

  • Can I have two separate projects, 1 WebForms and 1 ASP.NET MVC, to both point to the same domain?

    Is it possible to setup two separate projects, 1 WebForms and 1 ASP.NET MVC, to both point to the same domain? i.e. both point to different pages within www.somesite.com. Here's some background on the application and why I'm asking. This is a brownfield application that is currently 2.0 WebForms and is full of WebFormy 'goodness' (i.e. ObjectDataSources, FormView controls, UpdatePanels, etc...) There are lost of other 'fun' things in the code base like 600+ Stored Procedures and 200+ line methods in the business layer code that get data from the DB via stored proc, do some processing on the data, build an HTML string using string concatenation and then return that string to the UI layer. What we are planning on doing is developing new features in MVC and slowly converting the existing features over to MVC one at a time. As part of this transition, we will also be re-writing the layers below the UI to clean up the mess there and to do things like replace the stored procedures with NHibernate and introduce an IOC container. I know that you can run WebForms and MVC side-by-side in the same project, however, because we will be making wholesale changes to the way we do many things throughout our entire development stack, I'd like the new stuff to be a completely separate project within the solution. This should help serve as very visual reminder that this is a different way of doing things than before and make it easier to remove the old code as it is no longer needed. What I don't know is, is this even possible? Can two separate project point to the same domain?
