When a node has a tabIndex setting (other than -1), clicking it will give it focus. Removing the tabIndex setting should stop that behavior, so that clicking has no effect. However, on webkit, once a node has a tabIndex, even after tabIndex is removed, the node can still be clicked and focused. Setting tabIndex=-1 also has the same click problem. ASP.NET Content Web Form - content from placeholder disappears

I'm attempting to set a class on the body tag in my asp.net site which uses a master page and content web forms. I simply want to be able to do this by adding a bodycssclass property (see below) to the content web form page directive. It works through the solution below but when i attempt to view Default.aspx the Content1 control loses its content. Any ideas why? Here is how I'm doing it. BackgroundWorker Not working in VSTO

I have a background worker. Before I invoke the worker I disable a button and make a gif visible. I then invoke the runworkerasync method and it runs fine until comleteion. On the 'RunWorkerCompleted()' I get a cross thread error. How do I reset the scale/zoom of a web app on an orientation change on the iPhone?

I'm having the same problem that a couple of others have had with getting the correct behavior in a web app on an orientation change, and there doesn't seem to be an obvious solution - I've seen this question asked a couple of times on Stack Overflow and no one's yet been able to answer it. When I start the app in portrait mode, it works fine. Then I rotate into landscape and it's scaled up. To get it to scale correctly for the landscape mode I have to double tap on something twice, first to zoom all the way in (the normal double tap behavior) and again to zoom all the way out (again, the normal double tap behavior). When it zooms out, it zooms out to the correct NEW scale for landscape mode. Switching back to portrait seems to work more consistently; that is, it handles the zoom so that the scale is correct when the orientation changes back to portrait. I am trying to figure out if this is a bug? or if this is something that can be fixed with Javascript? With the viewport meta content, I am setting the initial-scale to 1.0 and I am NOT setting minimum or maximum scale (nor do I want to). I am setting the width to device-width. Any ideas? I know a lot of people would be grateful to have a solution as it seems to be a persistent problem. Thank you!

PHP PCRE differences on testing and hosting servers

Hi all, I've got the following regular expression that works fine on my testing server, but just returns an empty string on my hosted server. $text = preg_replace('~[^\\pL\d]+~u', $use, $text); Now I'm pretty sure this comes down to the hosting server version of PCRE not being compiled with Unicode property support enabled. The differences in the two versions are as follows: My server: PCRE version 7.8 2008-09-05 Compiled with UTF-8 support Unicode properties support Newline sequence is LF \R matches all Unicode newlines Internal link size = 2 POSIX malloc threshold = 10 Default match limit = 10000000 Default recursion depth limit = 10000000 Match recursion uses stack Hosting server: PCRE version 4.5 01-December-2003 Compiled with UTF-8 support Newline character is LF Internal link size = 2 POSIX malloc threshold = 10 Default match limit = 10000000 Match recursion uses stack Also note that the version on the hosting server (the same version PHP is compiled against) is pretty old. What confuses me though, is that pcretest fails on both servers from the command line with re> ~[^\\pL\d]+~u ** Unknown option 'u' although this regexp works fine when run from PHP on my server. So, I guess my questions are does the regular expression fail on the hosting server because of the lack of Unicode properties? Or is there something else that I'm missing? Thanks all, Gaz.

Hello, I am trying to create a HeaderedItemsControl where the headers are frozen. In an attempt to accomplish this, I have been trying to build on the default control template generated by Blend. File: Line: 6 Position: 107 Source File: http://localhost:2995/ Line: 60 I noticed that this error appears as long as either Content="{TemplateBinding Header}" or ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding HeaderTemplate}" exist in the ControlTemplate. If I remove both of those, the items appear just fine (but no header). I tried with a simple header that was just a TextBlock and I still received the error. What am I doing wrong? How do I get the Header to display within the ControlTemplate?

Hi I want to load my windows form: web browser thats using the webbrowser control, It would load a web page, and load my defination and search for elements that has been define, it will then assign the default values and these values can not be changed by the end user. Example If my application finds "FirstName" it would always assign the value "John" If my application finds "LastName" it would always assign the value "Smith" (these values should not be changed by the end user). Spring @PostConstruct function in a @Repository called multiple times

I have a DAO that I'm trying to inject into a couple different places: @Repository public class FooDAO { @Autowired private HibernateManager sessionFactory; @PostConstruct public void doSomeDatabaseStuff() throws DataAccessException { ... } } And my application-context.xml is a fairly simple context:component-scan: <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/context http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-2.5.xsd" default-init-method="init" default-destroy-method="destroy"> <context:component-scan base-package="top.level"/> </beans> The DAO is accessed from a couple servlets in my application server through @Autowired properties. As far as I understand, anything annotated with @Repository should default to being a singleton and thus doSomeDatabaseStuff() should only be called once (as is my intention). The problem is that I'm seeing doSomeDatabaseStuff() called multiple times. What's going on here? Have I set something up incorrectly? I'm using spring 3.0.0. Thanks for the help.

Trying to use a authlogic-connect as a plugin in place of gem - Server doesn't start

I am trying to use Authlogic-connect as a plugin in Rails 3 in place of a gem. I have made an entry in the gemfile as gem "authlogic-connect", :require => "authlogic-connect", :path => "localgems" Now when I run the bundle install, it runs fine. When I try to start the server i get the error Could not find gem 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' in source at localgems. Source does not contain any versions of 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' Try running `bundle install`. I have placed the unzipped Gem renamed as authlogic-connect in the localgems folder. what is the problem? In struts2 I have very simple task, after user is logged-in I'm checking if they profile is complete. If not user should be blocked from any other action and redirected to edit page. Display ñ on a C# .NET application

I have a localization issue. One of my industrious coworkers has replaced all the strings throughout our application with constants that are contained in a dictionary. That dictionary gets various strings placed in it once the user selects a language (English by default, but target languages are German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mandarin, and Thai). For our test of this functionality, we wanted to change a button to include text which has a ñ character, which appears both in Spanish and in the Arial Unicode MS font (which we're using throughout the application). Problem is, the ñ is appearing as a square block, as if the program did not know how to display it. When I debug into that particular string being read from disk, the debugger reports that character as a square block as well. So where is the failure? I think it could be in a few places: 1) Notepad may not be unicode aware, so the ñ displayed there is not the same as what vs2008 expects, and so the program interprets the character as a square (EDIT: notepad shows the same characters as vs; ie, they both show the ñ. In the same place.). 2) vs2008 can't handle ñ. I find that very, very hard to believe. 3) The text is read in properly, but the default font for vs2008 can't display it, which is why the debugger shows a square. 4) The text is not read in properly, and I should use something other than a regular StreamReader to get strings. 5) The text is read in properly, but the default String class in C# doesn't handle ñ well. I find that very, very hard to believe. 6) The version of Arial Unicode MS I have doesn't have ñ, despite it being listed as one of the 50k characters by http://www.fileinfo.info. Anything else I could have left out? Thanks for any help!

Qt QFileDialog - native dialogs only with static functions?

I'm trying to simply save a file. However, I need a filename entered without a suffix to automatically get a default suffix (which setDefaultSuffix() does). I'd rather not completely lose the native save dialog just for this. exec() is not overloaded from QDialog, so it totally bypasses the native hook (ignoring the DontUseNativeDialog option even if it's false). If I disable the file overwrite warning and append the default suffix myself after the function returns, then I'd be re-opening the dialog if the user did not want to overwrite... and that's just ugly. Is there some signal I can catch and quickly inject the default suffix if it's not there? I'm guessing not, since it's a native dialog. Is there something I'm doing wrong with the filter? I only have one filter choice. It should use that extension. This seems pretty lame. Launching the save dialog and simply typing "test" should never result in an extensionless file. "test.", yes. "test" no way. That'll really confuse the users when they hit Load and can't see the file they just saved. I guess the cross-platform part of Qt is giving me lowest common denominator file dialog functionality?

jquery - radio button not checked on page load, but checked on same function call later

Hi, I'm having a strange problem with jquery. When my page loads, I dynamically create some simple radio buttons in a special i've created. However, the default radio button is not checked. It is checked however when the change() event is triggered later, but is never checked the first time. Can someone help? I am certain that the change() event is triggered on the page load, because the rest of the HTML is added dynamically and I can see it. iPhone OpenGL Splash Screen? How?

My app is based pretty much on the EAGLView in the SDK. It doesn't incorporate a ViewController. Rather it simply inits GL and starts painting immediately.. Currently, my app will load a very small PNG and displays it as quickly as possible. On a 3GS this is rather instant, but on a 3G it can take about 2 seconds. In the latter case of the 3G, the user is looking at a black screen for that time. Is this behavior allowed by Apple? Is there any way to alter this SDK example so that it makes use of 'default.png'? It doesn't seem so straight forward to me. I want my user to see an image as quickly as possible, and I also don't want to be rejected for such a little quirk like this as well. In the guidelines, they encourage you to use default.png for standard applications to show a sort of mockup of the interface while it actually loads. I want to initialize OpenGL, and ALSO display this. This default.png is loaded before the app screen launches. This is EXACLTY what I want to make use of. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

LINQ Datacontext Disposal Issues

I am getting a Cannot access object: DataContext after it's been disposed in the below DAL method. I thought that I would be okay calling dispose there. result is an IEnumurable and I thought it was IQueryable that caused these kinds of problems. What am I doing wrong? How SHOULD I be disposing of my DataContext. Is there something better to be returning then a DataTable? This is a Desktop app that points at SQL 2005. Architecting iPhone Views - seeking help on a specific issue + general advice

Hi there, I am a web developer (rails, python) that is new to iPhone development. I've done some desktop development in the past within the MS environment (C#). I'm trying to build a really simple iPhone application and I am confused by the way that views work in general. If someone can provide advice for my particular problem, along with some resources where I can learn how to architect iPhone views in the future, that would be awesome. I feel like a lot of the Apple documentation that I've come across is too specific - I am lacking a fundamental understanding of how views work on the iPhone. My particular problem looks like this: I need one view that displays some downloaded text content. This is the view that shows when the app loads, and it is pretty straightforward. Then I need a settings area (I've already decided I don't want to use the iPhone settings area). The settings area main page will have some text fields on it. It will also have a 2-row grouped table. Each cell in that table will take you to another view which also has a grouped table used for multi-select. I suspect that I can reuse the same view for these two final "detailed setting" views. In summary: home page settings main page detailed setting 1 detailed setting 2 Any help and advice appreciated.

cakephp, i18n .po files, How to use them correctly

I have finally managed to set up a multilingual cakephp site. Although not finished it is the first time where I can change the DEFAULT_LANGUAGE in the bootstrap and I can see the language to change. My problem right now is that I cannot understand very well how to use the po files correctly. According to the tutorials I've used I need to create a folder /app/locale and inside that folder create a folder for each language in the following format: /locale/eng/LC_MESSAGES. I have done that and I have also managed to extract a default.pot file using cake i18n extract. And it appears that all occurrences of the __() function have been found succesfully. In my application I'm using 2 languages: eng and gre. I can see why you would need a seperate folder for each language. However in my case nothing happens when I edit the po files inside each folder....well almost nothing. If I edit the /app/locale/gre/LC_MESSAGES/default.po I have no language changes. If I edit the /app/locale/eng/LC_MESSAGES/default.po then the language changes to the new value (on the translation field) and it does not switch to the other language. What am I doing wrong. I hope I made myself as clear as possible.

MVC: capture route url's and pass them to javascript function

Short:Is there a way to have a route-definition that will pass the "CONTROLLER/ACTION" string value to a javascript function in stead of actually going straight for the controller action? More:I have a masterpage which contains the navigation of the site. Now, all the pages need this navigation wrapped around it at all times, but because I didn't want the navigation to constantly load with each pagecall, I changed all my pages to partialviews. These partial views are loaded via the JQuery.Load() method whenever a menu item is clicked in the navigation. This all worked very good, up till now because I noticed it's also a requirement of the website to be able to link directly to page X, rather then default.aspx. So, as an example:The main page is my "default.aspx" page, this utilizes my master page with the nagivation around it. And each call to a new page uses a javascript function that loads that particular partial view inside a div that is known in my masterpage. So, the url never changes away from "default.aspx", but my content changes seemlesly. The problem is, those url's also need to be available when typed directly into the address bar. But, they're partial views, so loading them directly from the address bar makes them display without any masterpages around them. Therefore my question if it might be possible to capture the route typed into the address bar and pass that on to my javascript function that will load that route in the content div. (I hope I explained it ok enough, if not, feel free to ask more information)

Change userSettings during MSI installation

Hi, I am trying to modify the userSettings section (Properties.MyApp.Default) in the MyApp.exe.config file during the installation using an MSI installer. I basically implemented it like in this excellent article: http://raquila.com/software/configure-app-config-application-settings-during-msi-install/ The difference is that I am not editing the appSettings but the userSettings section. The problem is that although the code runs fine, the settings are not saved. After the installation the config file contains the old settings I use in my development environment. I also tried to override OnAfterInstall(System.Collections.IDictionary stateSaver) instead of Install(System.Collections.IDictionary stateSaver) but it doesn't make a difference. Here is the code that should change the config values: protected override void OnAfterInstall(IDictionary savedState) { base.OnAfterInstall(savedState); string targetDirectory = Context.Parameters["targetdir"]; string tvdbAccountID = Context.Parameters["TVDBACCID"]; // read other config elements... Javascript not able to read data generated by ajax script

I have a situation in which my Jquery Ajax script generates HTML table. And another script is meant to filter the table column by providing a dropdown comprising of unique values in that particular column. If i have static content in html page the filter script works fine. But is not able to read table content when it is generated via Ajax that is during runtime. Any idea what could be the reason. I also tried to align script in order. question about InnoDB deadlock in MySQL?

I found this kind of interesting problem in MySQL InnoDB engine, could anyone explain why the engine always claim it's a deadlock. First, I created a table with a single row, single column: CREATE TABLE `SeqNum` (`current_seq_num` bigint(30) NOT NULL default '0', PRIMARY KEY (`current_seq_num`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 | Now, I have two MySQL connector threads, In thread1: mysql> begin; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) mysql> select `current_seq_num` into @curr_seq FROM SeqNum FOR UPDATE; Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec) Now, in thread2, I did the exactly same: mysql> begin; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) mysql> select `current_seq_num` into @curr_seq FROM SeqNum FOR UPDATE; before the default innodb_lock_wait_timeout, the thread2 just wait for thread1 to release its exclusive lock on the table, and it's normal. However, in thread1, if I input the following update query: mysql> update SeqNum set `current_seq_num` = 8; ERROR 1213 (40001): Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction Now, thread2 get the select query finished because thread1 quits. In addition, in thread1, if I input the update query with a where clause, it can be executed very well: mysql> update SeqNum set `current_seq_num` = 8 where `current_seq_num` =5 Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec) Could anyone explain this?

How to create a high quality icon for my Windows application?

If you are running Windows with a higher DPI setting you will notice that most application icons on the desktop look terrible. Even high profile application icons such as Google Chrome look terrible while for example Firefox, Skype and MS Office icons look sharp: (example) I suspect that most icons look blurry because a lower resolution icon is scaled up rather than using a higher resolution icon. I want to give my application a high quality icon and can't seem to convince Windows to use the higher resolution icon. I have created a multi-resolution icon with the free icon editor IcoFX. The icon is provided in 16x16, 24x24, 32x32,48x48, 128x128 and 256x256 (!) (all in 32 bit including alpha channel) yet Windows seems to use the 128x128 version of the icon on the desktop and scale it up which looks terrible. (I am using Windows 7 - 64 bit - the icon is placed by means of setting up a shortcut in the msi (created via Visual Studio 2008 Setup Project) and pointing it to the .ico file that contains the multi-resolution icon) I have tried removing the 128x128 icon but to no avail. Interestingly in Windows Explorer the icon looks great even when using the Extra Large Icon setting. How can I create a high quality desktop icon that looks great on higher DPI settings on Windows?

How to make designer generated .Net application settings portable

Hello, I've been looking at modifying the source of the Doppler podcast aggregator with the goal of being able to run the program directly from my mp3 player. Doppler stores application settings using a Visual Studio designer generated Settings class, which by default serializes user settings to the user's home directory. I'd like to change this so that all settings would be stored in the same directory as the exe. It seems that this would be possible by creating a custom provider class which inherits the SettingsProvider class. Has anyone created such a provider and would like to share code? Update: I was able to get a custom settings provider nearly working by using this MSDN sample, i.e. with simple inheritance. I was initially confused as Windows Forms designer stopped working until I did this trick suggested at Codeproject: internal sealed partial class Settings { private MySettingsProvider settingsprovider = new MySettingsProvider(); public Settings() { foreach (SettingsProperty property in this.Properties) { property.Provider = settingsprovider; } ... The program still starts with window size 0;0 though. Anyone with any insight to this? Why the need to assing the provider in runtime---instead of using attributes as suggested by MSDN? Why the changes in how the default settings are passed to the application with the default settings provider vs. the custom one?
