• Using authsmtp from a Grails server

  This is quite a specific question, and I have had no luck on the grails nabble forum, so I thought I would post here. I am using the grails mail plug-in, but I think my question is a general one about using authsmtp as an email gateway from my server. I am having trouble sending mail from my app using authsmtp. I have installed and configured the mail plugin and was originally using my ISP's SMTP server to send mails. However when I deployed to AWS EC2 this failed because my elastic IP was blocked by the SMTP host. So I bought myself an authsmtp account and set up my server email address as an accepted one at authsmtp. I then changed my configuration in SecurityConfig.groovy to point to the authsmtp server that I had been designated... mailHost = "mail.authsmtp.com" mailUsername = "myusername" mailPassword = "mypassword" mailProtocol = "smtp" mailFrom = "[email protected]" mailPort = 2525 ...and I'm just trying to get this to work locally before I deploy back up to AWS. Sending mail fails and in my log I have this exception: 2010-02-13 10:59:44,218 [http-8080-1] ERROR service.EmailerService - Failed to send emails: Failed messages: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 513 5.0.0 Your email system must authenticate before sending mail. org.springframework.mail.MailSendException; nested exception details (1) are: Failed message 1: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 513 5.0.0 Your email system must authenticate before sending mail. at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.issueSendCommand(SMTPTransport.java:1388) at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.mailFrom(SMTPTransport.java:959) at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.sendMessage(SMTPTransport.java:583) I'm a bit lost since the username and password I provide in the configuration are definitely correct. A terse and not very helpful conversation with authsmtp support suggests that I need to MD5 and/or base64 encode my credentials before sending, so my question is in three parts... 1) any idea what's going on with the failure and why that message is appearing? 2) how would I encode the credentials to pass to authsmtp and how would I configure that for the mail plugin 3) has anyone successfully connected and sent mail through authsmtp from the mail plugin and specifically from AWS EC2?

  I have a piece of code that sends email.. heres the code This is not working for me. This a remote smtp service ... and i double checked that email web access works fine .. i can login using the gui, recieve and send emails.   Hi all, I am changing minesweeper.exe in order to have an understanding of how code injection works. Simply, I want the minesweeper to show a message box before starting. So, I find a "cave" in the executable and then define the string to show in messagebox and call the messagebox. Additionally of course, I have to change the value at module entry point of the executable and first direct it to my additional code, then continue its own code. So at the cave what I do; "hello starbuck",0 push 0 //arg4 of MessageBoxW function push the address of my string //arg3, must be title push the address of my string //arg2, must be the message push 0 //arg1 call MessageBoxW ... Now since the memory addresses of codes in the executable change everytime it is loaded in the memory, for calling the MessageBoxW function, I give the offset of the address where MessageBoxW is defined in Import Address Table. For instance, if MessageBoxW is defined at address1 in the IAT and the instruction just after call MessageBoxW is at address2 instead of writing call MessageBoxW, I write call address2 - address1. So my question is, how do I do it for pushing the string's address to the stack? For example, if I do these changes via ollydbg, I give the immediate address of "hello starbuck" for pushing and it works. But after reloading the executable or starting it outside of ollydbg, it naturally fails, since the immediate addresses change. Thanks in advance, Yigit.

  i'm really interested learning ocaml, it fast (they said it could be compiled to native code) and it's functional. • Can't return a List from a Compiled Query.

  I was speeding up my app by using compiled queries for queries which were getting hit over and over. • Table cell in a split-view controller - selected cell becomes deselected when called by reloadData

  I'm working on a universal app that uses a SplitViewController to present a master-detail view. In the iPad HIG on Split Views, Apple states: In general, indicate the current selection in the left pane in a persistent way. This behavior helps people understand the relationship between the item in the left pane and the contents of the right pane. This is important because the contents of the right pane can change, but they should always remain related to the item selected in the left pane. So I'm trying to maintain selection state on the left. Easy enough when the user taps, I just remove the deselectRowAtIndexPath:animated: message from tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: implementation. But, I also want the selection state to show up by default (without a user tap). I wound up putting this in my tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: implementation: if (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad) { if (cellShouldBeSelected) cell.selected = YES; else cell.selected = NO; } The behavior I'm seeing, is that when the cells finall appear, for a fraction of a section the cell is indeed selected, but then the selection disappears without any user interaction. Any ideas? I set the new clearsSelectionOnViewWillAppear property to NO, but that doesn't seem to fix it, and it shouldn't really matter because I'm marking the cell as selected long after viewWillAppear is called - I'm actually doing it after some network activity and then sending the table view a reloadData message.

• What is the fastest collection in c# to implement a prioritizing queue?

  I need to implement a queue for messages on a game server so it needs to as fast as possible. The queue will have a maxiumem size. I need to prioritize messages once the queue is full by working backwards and removing a lower priority message (if one exists) before adding the new message. The appliation is asynchronous so access to the queue needs to be locked. I'm currently implementing it using a LinkedList as the underlying storage but have concerns that searching and removing nodes will keep it locked for too long. • Need to call original function from detoured function

  I'm using Detours to hook into an executable's message function, but I need to run my own code and then call the original code. From what I've seen in the Detours docs, it definitely sounds like that should happen automatically. The original function prints a message to the screen, but as soon as I attach a detour it starts running my code and stops printing. The original function code is roughly: void CGuiObject::AppendMsgToBuffer(classA, unsigned long, unsigned long, int, classB); My function is: void CGuiObject_AppendMsgToBuffer( [same params, with names] ); I know the memory position the original function resides in, so using: DWORD OrigPos = 0x0040592C; DetourAttach( (void*)OrigPos, CGuiObject_AppendMsgToBuffer); gets me into the function. This code works almost perfectly: my function is called with the proper parameters. However, execution leaves my function and the original code is not called. I've tried jmping back in, but that crashes the program (I'm assuming the code Detours moved to fit the hook is responsible for the crash). Edit: I've managed to fix the first issue, with no returning to program execution. By calling the OrigPos value as a function, I'm able to go to the "trampoline" function and from there on to the original code. However, somewhere along the lines the registers are changing and that is causing the program to crash with a segfault as soon as I get back into the original code.

• Perl Parallel::ForkManager wait_all_children() takes excessively long time

  I have a script that uses Parallel::ForkManager. However, the wait_all_children() process takes incredibly long time even after all child-processes are completed. The way I know is by printing out some timestamps (see below). Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this (I have 16 CPU cores on my machine)? my $pm = Parallel::ForkManager->new(16) for my $i (1..16) { $pm->start($i) and next; ... do something within the child-process ... print (scalar localtime), " Process $i completed.\n"; $pm->finish(); } print (scalar localtime), " Waiting for some child process to finish.\n"; $pm->wait_all_children(); print (scalar localtime), " All processes finished.\n"; Clearly, I'll get the Waiting for some child process to finish message first, with a timestamp of, say, 7:08:35. Then I'll get a list of Process i completed messages, with the last one at 7:10:30. However, I do not receive the message All Processes finished until 7:16:33(!). Why is that 6-minute delay between 7:10:30 and 7:16:33? Thx!

• jQuery XML loading and then innerfade effect

  Hello, I think I can explain myself without code, so for brevity's sake here we go: I am using jquery to pull data from an xml and put it into a ul on the page with each xml entry as a li. This is working great! However, what I am trying to do afterwards is use the innerfade plugin to make a simple animation between each of the li's. It's not working though, as it is still just loading the static list with each item visible (whereas if innerfade was working it would only display the first....then fade into the second, etc) It's not an innerfade problem however, because if I add the list in manually to the page (not injecting it with jquery) then the innerfade works fine. I'm relatively new to DOM scripting, so I think I am missing something here. I'm not quite sure how jQuery sequences everything, and I'm having trouble phrasing my question in a search engine friendly manner so here I am. Is it possible to have jquery pull the data from xml, then inject it into the page, then have innerfade work it's magic?   I've got a following situation. On a machine there is a Fritz ISDN card. There is a process that is responsible for playing a certain wave file on this device's wave out (ISDN connection is made at startup and made persistent). The scenario is easy, whenever needed the process calls waveOutWrite() on the previously opened wave device (everything initialized without any problems of course) and a callback function waits for MMWOMDONE msg to know that the playback has been finished. Since a few days however (nothing changed neither in the process nor the machine) the MMWOMDONE message comes immediately after calling waveOutWrite() even though the wave lasts a couple of seconds. Again no error is reported, it looks like the file was played but had zero length (which is not the case). I am also sure that waveOutReset() was not called by my process (it would also trigger sending the mentioned message). I already used to have some strange problems in the past that where solved simply by reinstalling TAPI drivers. This time for some reason it is problematic form me to perform that once again and am trying more analytical approach :). Any suggestions what might cause such a behavior? Maybe sth on the other end of the ISDN line?

But I need config git of Cygwin again, I want to git clone in Git Bash. • PHPUnit reporting "Aborted" no matter what tests are run

  Having a weird problem with PHPUnit. We're using PHPUnit as part of a continuous integration environment, that contains one app written using Zend Framework and one app written using CodeIgniter. Unit tests run just fine under Zend Framework, but whenever I run the tests for CodeIgniter using fooStack's CIUnit bridge, I always get the same problem at the end: PHPUnit 3.4.14 by Sebastian Bergmann. ............... . Time: 1 second, Memory: 7.00Mb OK (16 tests, 14 assertions) Aborted First off, I do not know what those empty spaces between the . means. Secondly, no matter what test I run (all of them or each one separately) I get the same Aborted message at the very end. The tests themselves do not contain any exit or die statements. When I run the same version of PHPUnit on my laptop (running OS-X Snow Leopard and same version of Zend Server Community Edition) I do not get that aborted message. Running PHP 5.3.2 on Ubuntu installed using Zend Server Community Edition. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

  I am creating an Android app that includes a third party jar. That third party jar utilizes internal logging that is failing to initialize when I run the app, with this error: "org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException: No suitable Log implementation". The 3rd party jar appears to be using org.apache.commons.logging and to depend on log4j, specifically log4j-1.2.14.jar. I have packaged the log4j jar into the Android app. The third party jar was packaged with a log4j.xml configuration file, which I have tried packaging into the app as an XML resource (and also as a raw resource). The "No suitable Log implementation" error message is not very descriptive, and I have no immediate familiarity with Java logging. So I am looking for likely causes of the problem (what class or configuration resources might I be missing?) or for some debugging technique that will result in a different error message that is more explicit about the problem. I do not have access to source code for the 3rd party jar. Here is the exception stack trace. • Cast errors with IXmlSerializable

  I am trying to use the IXmlSerializable interface to deserialize an Object (I am using it because I need specific control over what gets deserialized and what does not. See my previous question for more information). However, I'm stumped as to the error message I get. Below is the error message I get (I have changed some names for clarity): An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidCastException' occurred in App.exe Additional information: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Xml.XmlNode[]' to type 'MyObject'. MyObject has all the correct methods defined for the interface, and regardless of what I put in the method body for ReadXml() I still get this error. It doesn't matter if it has my implementation code or if it's just blank. I did some googling and found an error that looks similar to this involving polymorphic objects that implement IXmlSerializable. However, my class does not inherit from any others (besides Object). I suspected this may be an issue because I never reference XmlNode any other time in my code.   I want to be able to have different targets doing nearly the same thing, as so: ant build <- this would be a normal (default) build ant safari <- building the safari target. I don't want to do ant -Dwhatever=nevermind. Any ideas?
