  • Why the input and the select do not get the same width?

    I have a table with two rows. The first row contains an input and the second row contains a select. Even though I have set their widths to be 100%, the select box is a few pixels smaller than the input.   • How to implement a book preview (2 page spread) without using Flash?

    I'm looking into a solution for work, where you have a two page spread of the book to preview. Either side of this, you can hover in the corner to create a pseudo-flip and then click the mouse button to actually turn the page. I know there is many Flash solutions out there, but in this case we cannot use it... So we are looking for a possible solution that can work across all major browsers (yes, including IE6)... I looked a few canvas solutions, but with Google's canvas extension for IE, these will terribly slow. So was thinking about an SVG/VML solution, like Raphael Javascript library. This could be good, but then trying to look into how to code this, without examples, could be a challenge with the time constraint. Is there a solution out there that fits (or almost fits) this problem?

  • Centering images php

    I'm trying to center an image in php. I'm currently using this line of code echo '<img src="newimage.jpg" width="110" height="120" class="centre">'; However, this seems to have no effect. I've also tried using something like this, img.center { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } <img src="newimage.jpg" alt="Suni" class="center" /> but this merely gives me a syntax error, how do I go about fixing this?     I have been searching a lot and could not get anything closer (all sliders use same witdh images as nivo slider and etc) This is the gallery I want to do on a website: http://loscarpinteros.net/#exhibition?i=22 As you can see it load images with different width (on same height) and it has a numeration like 1/5 pics. Do you know any plugin that does this kind of gallery or any script that I can us to get a similar result?

  • Recommended lightweight jQuery lightbox plug-in?

    I need a lightbox plugin that is styled similar to FancyBox but will allow me to add text to the same white background as the image. Lightweight because I don't want many features as it's going to be added to an already heavy JS page. Preferably without Ajax features as I'll be handling this myself. Therefore I'm ruling out the use of Thickbox, Fancybox and jQuery UI. Basically I want the plugin to be a currently supported light-box jQuery plug-in that handles all the cross browser styling issues which I can then customise.

  • Why does one column seem to load first in Wordpress?

    I have a Wordpress site that is doing something very bizarre. If you go to: http://digitaldemo.net/joy/krippen-a-b-c/ When it loads, the main content div loads on the right hand side of the page and then once the sidebar loads, THEN it gets pushed over to where it ought to be. It's only really noticable in Firefox, but I'd like to find out what is causing it and fix the issue. Any ideas? Many thanks!

    Error: End tag for 'optgroup' which is not finished. You have probably failed to include a required child element. Hence the parent element is "not finished", not complete. I want to achieve something like this in select options. USA UK -- Afghanistan I want to put few important countries on top and then a non-selectable divider and then ordered list of remaining countries. I put this divider using empty 'optgroup'. While it works perfectly in all browser, I get validation error. What could be other approaches?

If it is outside of the <p> tag it functions fine, but I would like it to be inline with the text and need the text to be in the <p> tag to get the style. Any ideas? Things to note -- If I replace the <span> tags with <div> tags, it will work fine within the <p> tags, but won't be inline.
