• Load Globalize cultures with Node.js?

  I'm using jQuery Globalize with Node.js. They have a package.json file so I can simply use it as a module and require it. However, it doesn't load all cultures by default. I was wondering what the proper way to load a culture would be? I could go and do something like require('./node_modules/globalize/lib/cultures/globalize.culture.es-US.js') and load the file directly, but that doesn't seem too elegant. Is there a "proper" way to do this?

  How to get function's name from function's pointer in C? Edit: The real case is: I'm writing a linux kernel module and I'm calling kernel functions. Some of these functions are pointers and I want to inspect the code of that function in the kernel source. But I don't know which function it is pointing to. I thought it could be done because, when the system fails (kernel panic) it prints out in the screen the current callstack with function's names. But, I guess I was wrong... am I?

• Realtime processing and callbacks with Python and C++

  I need to write code to do some realtime processing that is fairly computationally complex. I would like to create some Python classes to manage all my scripting, and leave the intensive parts of the algorithm coded in C++ so that they can run as fast as possible. I would like to instantiate the objects in Python, and have the C++ algorithms chime back into the script with callbacks in python. Something like: myObject = MyObject() myObject.setCallback(myCallback) myObject.run() def myCallback(val): """Do something with the value passed back to the python script.""" pass Will this be possible? How can I run a callback in python from a loop that is running in a C++ module? Anyone have a link or a tutorial to help me do this correctly?

  Hi All I need to read a CSV file in python. Since for last row I receive a 'NULL byte' error I would like to avoid using for keyword but the while. Do you know how to do that? reader = csv.reader( file ) for row in reader # I have an error at this line # do whatever with row I want to substitute the for-loop with a while-loop so that I can check if the row is NULL or not. What is the function for reading a single row in the CSV module? • Why doesn't Python's `re.split()` split on zero-length matches?

  One particular quirk of the (otherwise quite powerful) re module in Python is that re.split() will never split a string on a zero-length match, for example if I want to split a string along word boundaries: >>> re.split(r"\s+|\b", "Split along words, preserve punctuation!") ['Split', 'along', 'words,', 'preserve', 'punctuation!'] instead of ['', 'Split', 'along', 'words', ',', 'preserve', 'punctuation', '!'] Why does it have this limitation? Is it by design? • Python: Importing a variable inside of a infinite loop

  I have two modules, a host and a scanner. Both loop indefinitely to communicate with the serial ports. I want to import the variable "bestchannel" from scanner into host but by importing it, the while loop inside scanner runs first and loops forever. I want each module to run separately but be able to send each other data in real time. Is this possible?   Hello There, I'm trying to figure out where I could drop in some PHP code to notify a CRM we are using (Solve360) that a new order has been placed, and that an event should be created (API) to fulfill the order. Order Product Checkout Complete Checkout & Capture CC Side notify CRM Done Not sure where to start, but I have had to make some small tweaks to fix the Quantum Gateway payment processor to work. In that module it appears that the objects for the order (email, amt, details) were available. However it seems it would be quite 'dirty' to insert more PHP code in there. Ideas?   Is there any method that is called or event that is dispatched right before an Element is cleaned up by the JavaScript garbage collector? In Perl I would write: package MyObj; sub new {bless {}} sub DESTROY {print "cleaning up @_\n"} and then later: { my $obj = MyObj->new; # do something with obj } # scope ends, and assuming there are no external references to $obj, # the DESTROY method will be called before the object's memory is freed My target platform is Firefox (and I have no need to support other browsers), so if there is only a Firefox specific way of doing this, that is fine. And a little background: I am writing the Perl module XUL::Gui which serves as a bridge between Perl and Firefox, and I am currently working on plugging a few memory leaks related to DOM Elements sticking around forever, even after they are gone and no more references remain on the Perl side. So I am looking for ways to either figure out when JavaScript Elements will be destroyed, or a way to force JavaScript to cleanup an object.

  Hi, I have a C++ code that upon execution: Loads JVM (I have full control on how to load the JVM), and call Java methods (from loaded classes) using C JNI code. The Java code has no Main() and it is actually not a standard Java application. it is mainly a static code that compiled and compacted into Jar file, the code is being called by the C++ module. Is it possible to profile this Java code being executed by YourKit (have license for it)? If so I'll be glad to know how. Thanks, Guy

  Hi everybody, I'm using the python logging module with the "native" configuration file support (config.fileconfig) as describe in the documentation here : http://docs.python.org/library/logging.html (see the logging.conf file) I was wondering if it's possible to supply a tabulated data format in the configuration file? The sample configuration file is the following: [formatter_simpleFormatter] format=%(asctime)s - %(name)s - %(levelname)s - %(message)s I though that using the \t in the format would be enough but it doesn't. format=%(asctime)s\t%(name)s\t%(levelname)s\t%(message)s\t If I do so it print \t in the result. I tried a couple of thing without success. I suppose it's really easy to do but I don't find it! How can I do that?

• Maintaining stored procedures in source control

  How do you guys maintain your stored procedures? I'd like to keep versions of them for a few different reasons. I also will be setting up cruisecontrol.net and nant this weekend to automate builds. I was thinking about coding something that would generate the create scripts for all tables/sprocs/udf/xml schemas in my development database. Then it would take those scripts and update them in source control every couple hours.... Ideally, I'd like to make this some sort of plugin/module for cruisecontrol.net. Any other ideas?

  Hello. I'm PHP-programmer, but I'm extremely interested in learning Java. So I decided to change speciality from PHP to Java. At the moment I have an opportunity to try to make quite simple web-application (it should contain 2-3 forms, several pages with information from the database and authorization module) and also I have a chance to choose any technology I want. Besides I have about 3 months for this task. I've decided to develop site with Java technologies for the purpose of studying. I've already read a book about Java ("Java2 Complete Reference" by P.Naughton) and currently I'm reading "Thinking in Java" by B.Eckel. I clearly understand it's not enough for efficient development, but I want, at least, to try. I would be very appreciated for the advises, which framework (for example) or technology to choose (Spring, Grails etc.) and what primary aspects and technologies of Java should I pay attention to?   Hi, I'm using NHibernate with my ASP.Net MVC application. I'm writing some extensions (plugins) for my application. And I'm loading those plugin dynamically (from different assemblies). In my base application I have many entities and mappings defined (User, Group, etc...) I need to create new entities in my extensions, so i.e. I'm creating News module, so I need to create News mapping. In database News table has a foreign key to User table. Is there any way I can modify my User mapping, so it will have: HasMany(x => x.Courses) .KeyColumn("GroupId") .Inverse(); Or the only way to do it is to change code in my User class and recompile project ? I'm not NHibernate advanced user, so any help will be appreciated. TIA.

• How do I use multiple settings file in Django with multiple sites on one server?

  I have an ec2 instance running Ubuntu 14.04 and I want to host two sites from it. On my first site I have two settings file, production_settings.py and settings.py (for local development). I import the local settings into the production settings and override any settings with the production settings file. Since my production settings file is not the default settings.py name, I have to create an environment variable DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE='site1.production_settings' However because of this whenever I try to start my second site it says No module named site1.production_settings I am assuming that this is due to me setting the environment variable. Another problem is that I won't be able to use different settings file for different sites. How do I start use two different settings file for two different websites?

  I've searched around and found that when implementing an authentication module in MVC architecture some people opt to place the login related actions in the User controller while others place it in a controller dedicated to authentication only. In pseudo-java-like code: class UserController extends Controller { public login() { //... } } Accessed with http://mydomain.com/user/login. vs. class AuthController extends Controller { public login() { //... } } Accessed with http://mydomain.com/auth/login. • How to get dataset to populate data into dbgrid in Delphi 6?

  I have created a DBGrid in Delphi 6 and tied it to a DataSource contained in a DataModule. The Dataset for that source in also located in the same module. In the OnShow event for the form, I activate the dataset and set a label equal to the rowcount for the dataset. This shows several hundred rows but nothing shows in the dbgrid. If I activate the dataset in the IDE, the grid populates with the expected data. Does anyone have any idea why this behaviour would change between the IDE and normal runtime? We are also using SDAC connection components. All 3rd party component choices are not mine to change. I can elaborate as necessary for clarification, but I mainly need troubleshooting ideas to start at.

Consider the directory structure: dirFoo\ test.py dirBar\ __init__.py Foo.py Bar.py To test either Foo.py or Bar.py, I would add this at the end of the Foo.py and Bar.py source files: if __name__ == "__main__": unittest.main() And run Python on either source, i.e. $ python Foo.py ........... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ran 11 tests in 2.314s OK Ideally, I would have "test.py" automagically search dirBar for any unittest derived classes and make one call to "unittest.main()". What's the best way to do this in practice? I tried using Python to call execfile for every *.py file in dirBar, which runs once for the first .py file found & exits the calling test.py, plus then I have to duplicate my code by adding unittest.main() in every source file--which violates DRY principles.

For example if I want to search "hello", a new window pops out (even if a Firefox window is already open) and then launches a Google and Bing tabs searching for "hello". If I change the keyword to "world", a new browser pops out again with Google and Bing tabs searching for "world". I've looked at the webbrowser module but couldn't get it to: 1. Launch a new browser when a browser is already open: e.g. webbrowser.open('http://www.google.com',new=1) will instead open a new tab 2.
