Best practice for referring to classes in CSS

If you have an HTML page with a class in an element, for instance <div class="myClass"> would it be best to refer to it in the CSS as .myClass or div.myClass?

I have a table with anniversary dates. I want a query that returns me rows of anniversaries coming up in the next 10 days. Hello, How can I programmatically retrieve the current connection type (eg. LAN or Direct connection). InternetGetConnectedState(&ConTypeRet, 0) isn't very reliable.
