    when i put ajax on my code I send a group of variable via post but when i received the data it is in a obj.responseText ie TEXT format. say i have two files "form.php" and "index.php" ajax is implemented in form.php while index.php returns the text. but my problem is index.php also generates a variable named "tarriff_count" i want to catch systematically and separately this variable, Is there any systematic way to catch variable.also keep in mind "obj.responseText" is very complicated to get a variable from "preg_match" ?

    What happens behind the scenes if I make an AJAX PageMethod or WebMethod call from, say, "Default.aspx" and then I quickly navigate away to a different page, say, "Settings.aspx" before the initial PageMethod has returned? What kind of housekeeping, if any, takes place on either the browser or the ASP.NET back end? In other words, where do abandoned AJAX PageMethod calls go to die...and what is their funeral like?

  • Convert long number as string in the serialization

    I have a custom made class that use a long as ID. However, when I call my action using ajax, my ID is truncated and it loses the last 2 numbers because javascript loses precision when dealing with large numbers. My solution would be to give a string to my javascript, but the ID have to stay as a long on the server side. Is there a way to serialize the property as a string? I'm looking for some kind of attribute.   • Sending string to wcf service using jquery ajax. why can i only send strings of numbers?

    Hi Guys, For some reason, I'm only able to pass strings containing numbers to my web service when using jquery ajax. This hasn't been an issue so far because I was always just passing IDs to my wcf service. But I'm trying to do something more complex now but I can't figure it out. In my interface: [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] DataTableOutput GetDataTableOutput(string json); My webservice: public DataTableOutput GetDataTableOutput(string json) { DataTableOutput x = new DataTableOutput(); x.iTotalDisplayRecords = 9; x.iTotalRecords = 50; x.sColumns = "1"; x.sEcho = "1"; x.aaData = null; return x; } Javascript/Jquery: var x = "1"; $.ajax({ type: "POST", async: false, url: "Services/Service1.svc/GetDataTableOutput", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: x, dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { }, error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { //alert(XMLHttpRequest.status); //alert(XMLHttpRequest.responseText); } }); The above code WORKS perfectly.     I use a GridView to display the records from the database. Also i've attached a Hyperlink to the GridView using TemplateField. When I try to add "onclick" attribute to the HyperLink inside the RowDateBound event, I get the following error..   • Asp.net MVC database connection setting in Visual studio 2008

    I am trying to learn Asp.net MVC framework. I was looking at the video tutorial at the link below http://www.asp.net/learn/mvc-videos/video-395.aspx In this video the very first step is to add a new database to the example application. I have visual studio installed on my development machine but the SqlServer Express is running on a different machine, so when I try and add a new database following the same steps as the video I get the following error "Connections to SQL Server files(*.mdf) require SQL express 2005 to funciton properly. Please verify the installation of the component or download from the url" I am assuming this is because Visual studio is looking for an instance of SQL express on my local machine and since it doesnt exist on the local machine,it errors out. So how do i tell visual studio, to connect to a different machine and create the database there? I am using Visual studio 2008 with .net 3.5 Sp1

    Curious what recommendations anyone has. I have an existing asp.net forms application that does a Forms Authentication and has identity impersonate turned on. The application has a link to a questionnaire that I would like to develop separately in an asp.net MVC application, but I don't want the users to click on the link and be prompted for a username and password, I would like them to be able seamless start filling out the questionnaire. Is there a way to somehow transfer authentication from one .net app to another? I would like to be able to pass stuff like UserRole. What's the best way to do this?

    Hey there, I have a situation where my page loads some information from a database, which is then modified through AJAX. I click a link to another page, then use the 'back' button to return to the original page. The changes to the page through AJAX I made before don't appear, because the browser has the unchanged page stored in the cache. Is there a way of fixing this without setting the page not to cache at all? Thanks :)

    Accidentally I found this post about a new feature in ASP.NET 4.0: Expressions enclosed in these new brackets <%: Content %> should be rendered as HTML encoded. I've tried this within a databound label in a FormView like so: <asp:Label ID="MyLabel" runat="server" Text='<%: Eval("MyTextProperty") %>' /> But it doesn't work: The text property contains script tags (for testing), but the output is blank. Using the traditional way works: <asp:Label ID="MyLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# HttpUtility.HtmlEncode(Eval("MyTextProperty")) %>' /> What am I doing wrong? (On a sidenote: I am too stupid to find any information: Google refuses to search for that thing. The VS2010 Online help on MSDN offers a lot of hits, but nothing related to my search. Stackoverflow search too. And I don't know how these "things" (the brackets I mean) are officially called to have a better search term.) Any info and additional links and resources are welcome!
