  • Can I and should I use Eclipselink for non OR database interactions?

    We are using Eclipselink for ORM, but we have a need for some more lightweight database interactions that are more equivalent to JDBC. My question is whether Eclipselink supports such an idiom and whether there are any advantages of it to straight JDBC. I can see one advantage being consistency and being able to use the existing connection handling. Others? Specifically, what I'm looking for is something equivalent to Hibernate's Native SQL Query.

The idea was to use one dimension arrays int a[] instead of the 2 dimensional arrays int b[][], to save memory and processing speed of the algorithm. How certain is that this change will accelerate the speed of execution or compilation of my code in c ++?

    What gems/plugins that make it easy to add a tamper-resistant unsubscribe link to the bottom of the email a user can click to prevent receiving email those types of emails? The only thing I could find was http://kevinlochner.com/handling-unsubscribe-requests-in-ruby-on-rail which works but is somewhat unsophisticated and lacks features such as which type of emails to unsubscribe from. It also doesnt include the mechanism for users to unsubscribe. We using ActionMailer.

I'm handling the event like this: case WM_VSCROLL: SetScrollPos(hWnd, SB_VERT, (int)HIWORD(wParam), TRUE); break; all I want is for the position of the scroll bar to stay once I release my mouse but what it's doing is just going back to the top after. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

    In Windows Server 2012 RTM, I am trying to run the BPA. It fails, saying "BPA scan did not complete for one or more servers" Try #1: Try #2: So, I decided to enable the Turn on Script Execution (with Allow all scripts) in Local Group Policy Editor, now I get a very nice exception message :) Clicking on ignore button, BPA logs the following error message: Try #3: So, I decided to go ahead and set the execution policy for all the scopes in PowerShell to unrestricted. Again no luck. What is going on?

  • Server 2012 DFS New Member Issue

    I am trying to add a new member to our DFS topology. We have 3 DCs (VMs - VMware) running Windows server 2012, two servers are located in or Primary site and the third at our DR site. Currently the two servers at our primary site are currently replicating DFS (full mesh) and are working fine. I have tried several times to add the third DC to our DFS topology, every time i configure the replication path e.g E:\MSI and click ok the MMC snap in crashes.   • How can I make Webalizer work with rolling apache logs?

    I am using Webalizer to view my site stats, and it's working ok with one exception; I have log rolling configured so my log directory looks something like this: :/var/log/apache2$ ls access.log access.log.1 access.log.2.gz access.log.3.gz ... Webalizer ends up only storing the last ~4 days each time it runs, so I only ever get a rolling window of stats rather than the full month. How can I make Webalizer process the full set of logs?

  • Why does Mac OS X Software Update not work when machine uses Active Directory?

    My company's IT department is mostly a Windows run operation and in order to become more secure, they are altering the way that the Macintosh computers login to our internal network so that they use Active Directory like their Windows counterparts. I have been given Administrative permission on my Mac and I am able to do most of what I used to be able to do in terms of authentication of software installations. However, there is a problem: the "Software Update" feature doesn't work. What happens is that when I try to get the Mac to perform its Software Updates from the Apple menu, the normal window appears listing what has to be updated; I am able to select what to update and click the "Update" button, but then nothing happens. It doesn't ask for authentication like it used to, the computer doesn't perform any download or installation (it does sometimes ask me to agree to license agreements for iTunes). I can download the updates individually and install them without any issues, but the auto-update fails. I'd rather use the Software Update menu item like I used to: it is much more convenient. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? EDIT Nov 19th, 2009, 10:09 EST: I have posted this question to the Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard support forum. EDIT Nov 19th, 2009, 12:39 EST:Yes, the Terminal command "sudo softwareupdate --install --all" does work flawlessly. I want to avoid that as my co-workers are generally not comfortable on the Mac. I also tried Chealion's suggestion to delete "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist" and "/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist", Software Update still fails. However, I did get diagnostic messages in the Console (below). I've deleted the MS Office Package Receipts and examined the suhelperd (Software Update Helper Daemon?); it appears that suhelperd is crashing and that explains why it doesn't work. I've submitted a bug report to Apple (radar://7408619).     Using Synergy-plus-1.3.4 on Gentoo Linux kernel 2.6.36-tuxonice-r3. Using SHIFT+CAPS to change keyboard layout on BOTH server and client boxes. Works perfectly if change layout using attached keyboard. But when using synergy keyboard (moved mouse from server screen to client and changing with SHIFT+CAPS) it has no effect. Synergy is just amazing thing exception this small issue which I'm assured is solvable. Please, gimme some hint.

    I just got a new Mac and am trying to setup a local Perl development environment. I'm using MAMP but also need the ImageMagick perl module installed in order to do some of the photo processing our scripts require. I tried installing ImageMagick manually but ran into some issues and after reading online a lot of people reported having issues going this route. The general consensus was to install it using MacPorts instead so I went ahead and installed MacPorts. Unfortunately, MacPorts can't seem to install it successfully either.   • OSX Server & Client NFS "timeout" issues?

    I have a mac environment our server is sharing an NFS mount Setup via Server Admin. Clients connect to the NFS mount at boot via The Directory Utility built into OSX... Everything works fine with one small exception, the NFS mount seems to timeout/dropout every now and then it seems random and requires a reboot to bring it back up? Has anyone else ran into this situation? Any fix would be appreciated.

  • What are the side-effects of disabling the old Lan Manager hash?

    All of the computers in our domain are running Windows XP/Server 2003 and above (with one exception, a Win2Ksp4 server, which is not a domain controller). I intend to disable the LM hashes via group policy as indicated in KB299656, and want to ensure that there won't be any unforseen problems or side-effects. Does anyone have experience with performing this change? Are there any caveats that I should keep in mind?

  • Error configuring SQL Reporting Services 2005 on Windows 7

    I've installed SQL Server 2005 with Reporting Services on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and when I try to configure it when clicking on "Windows Service Identity" I get this error message: There was an error while switching panels. The most likely cause is an error retrieving WMI properties. The exception details are: InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex Here is a screenshot: EDIT: This problem disappeared after I installed SP3 for SQL Server. I have problems on the next panes though.
