  • CSS Rollovers: how to main "hit area" size when hidden image is larger than anchor area

    I have a small problem and I don't think what I want to do can be achieved with just pure CSS, but I figured I'd ask anyway. Basically, I have one DIV which contains a hyperlinked element that is smaller in size to it's parent DIV. So in effect I have a square within a square with the inner square being the "hit area". When I mouse over this inner square I want the background of the outer square to change. I know it's not possible to change the parent DIV's background on a:hover, but I figured I could give the illusion of it happening by nesting a hidden image inside the anchor. This works great until I want to "roll off". The problem is that I want the image to disappear when I leave the area of the anchor tag, not the larger hidden image. Is this possible?     I'm trying to get sendmail working on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.4), so that I can send mail with PHP's mail() function. If you know how to do this without sendmail, I'd be interested in that also. The plan is to send mail through smtp.gmail.com using my gmail account, unless you have a better idea. I did this and that didn't work. In /etc/postfix/smtp_sasl_passwords I tried both:     smtp.yourisp.com username:password and     smtp.yourisp.com [email protected]:password The problem seems to be that google doesn't like me.   • Strange Internet Connection issues

    I'm attempting to troubleshoot problems with a laptop computer(HP 8510w) while it's connected to a server of mine via Remote Desktop. I double checked all the settings on the win2k3 server for remote desktop to verify that remote desktop isn't what's causing the disconnect issues, and other people using different computers/laptops can all connect to remote desktop correctly with no issues. These problems happen specifically when the laptop is connected via wifi(several different wifi sources, so it's not an ISP issue) as well as connected via a Verizon data card. However there's no network downtime when the laptop is resting in the docking station and plugged into the network with the remote desktop server. These problems have also only recently occurred since a recent hard drive failure in which a new hard drive was purchased and the laptop had a fresh install of windows xp professional. There's no special software used on this machine, just office 2003. So my question is, what could cause two types of internet access to fail while other types do not? If it is infact related to the win2k3 server, why is this particular laptop getting disconnected when others are not and are all on at the same time?

  • Does this mean the router is faulty?

    I have a router to which I have my desktop (running Ubuntu) connected via LAN & I use it on my phone via wifi. Sometimes it happen that the LAN one will stop working for no reason but the wifi will work fine. And it will resolve away by itself. Since last night, the router was restarting again & again on its own, so I lodged a complaint about it and they said the router is faulty and will be replaced, but I know they don't know anything about how things work & is just going to shoot an arrow in the dark. These restarts has happened for the first time, LAN-wifi issue described earlier is a common one (but not frequent one). So is the router faulty or there is some issue from my ISP side which will continue to persist even after they change the router? My very best guess is that they will replace it with an older refurbished router which will tend to give me more troubles in the coming time, so its better if I change it only its faulty (this is a new one - 6months old, I am its first hand user). I am happy to provide any details.

If i type stackoverflow,then hit control+enter, it works and takes to homepage, but i type ubuntuforums, then hit control + enter, it does not recognise its ubuntuforums.org, but goes to ubuntuforums.com?? How does this exactly work? If i need to change this behaviour, how should i do it?

  • Implementing an isolated guest WLAN via IPSec VPN on Windows

    We are attempting to set up a guest WLAN network that is isolated from the rest of our network. This is proving difficult due to a couple of technical reasons. My first choice was to use a separate VLAN, on which our Firewall's handy WLAN port would handle DHCP, DNS and the network isolation we need. Unfortunately, due to the fact that our main office and our Internet connection itself are in different locations connected by way of a Metro Ethernet connection, I'm at the mercy of our ISP for VLAN transit. They won't pass a second VLAN between our two sites. And my hardware doesn't support 802.1ad "Q-in-Q", which would also solve this problem. So I can't use the VLAN method for isolation. At least not without spending money. As our Firewall can handle IPSec site-to-site VPN connections, I hope it is possible to connect a Server 2008R2 (standard) server I have in the office location to the WLAN and provide gateway services to the firewall. Thusly: Unfortunately, I don't know if it is possible to connect the two this way. The firewall has a pretty flexible IPSec/L2TP implementation (I've used it to connect iPads in the wild), but is neither Kerberized or supports NTLM. The Connection Security Rules view on the Windows server seems to get close to what I think needs to be done, but I'm failing on figuring out how to get it to do what I need it to do. Is this even possible, or do I need to pursue alternate solution?

    I'm trying to run a Java application I wrote to subscribe to a CORBA event service. It runs OK on my Windows machine, but as soon as I deploy it to the UNIX server, it gives me an org.omg.CORBA.NO_IMPLEMENT exception. Any ideas as to why this might be happening? I'm using JacORB on my Windows machine and passing VM arguments to initialize the client ORB, but I'm not sure how to do that on UNIX and if it's even necessary. Thanks in advance!

But, Whenever I close the SSH client, the service on http: //x.x.x.x:8983/solr/select is also closed. So I can't search any more. What should I do? Thanks for any help.
