  • Symbolizing plugins in Instruments' stack traces

    Instruments is able to properly symbolize my app's main bundle (as well as frameworks and libraries) in the stack trace of the extended detail view. However, symbols aren't resolved for plugins loaded during execution. Setting the build directory where the dSym files for the main and plugin bundles are located (as well as the app itself) in the "File Re-Symbolicate Document" menu item made no discernible difference in the stack trace. What must I do for Instruments to load symbols for the plugins?

  • Is there a pure-managed DirectX wrapper?

    I'm currently in need of a purely managed code DirectX wrapper for .NET. While SlimDX is great, its use of unmanaged code makes it impossible to perform proper dead code analysis on, for the purpose of merging it into your assemblies. With a pure managed wrapper, I'd be able to include just the pieces I use in my assembly, allowing very, very small binaries (my goal is to be able to write 64k demos entirely using .NET). Does such a thing exist, or am I going to be getting intimate with P/Invoke?

  • error working with wsdl files in visual studio 2008

    Hi. I got a wsdl file in email. At first I didn't know how to use it. I've simply saved the file to my disk. Opened visual studio...added a service reference...provided path to file, and service was discovered. I opened the object browser to see the types and methods that got imported. I figure anything that ends with the name 'Client' is a good place to start using the web service. I've tried using a simple method to get data but it has run into and expception. Need help in resolving it. I looked at the source of the calendar on the main FullCalendar page, and my code is no different save that I get my events from a source rather than explicitly define them.   • Visual Studio 2005 - Debugger stopped working.

    More fun and pain with Visual Studio. Visual Studio 2005. About two months ago, I started an assignment. In my role, I cannot install or configure development software. Trust me this has given me plenty of heartburn. No IIS is involved here, just File Sharing. That being said, when I first started I had a problem with my debugger not working. The debugger just stopped. I was able to get it working. Now the problem has returned and I am pulling every last hair on my head. Almost none of my symbols loads. It can't find the PDB files. In Debugger options, I checked the Symbol section. My symbol file location entry is completely blank. ? I don't know why. I did not touch this prior to the problem occurring. I have cleared the Temporary ASP.NET folders. I should note, I created a new project. Recreated my files manually by importing them. The debugger worked 5 times and died. I'm at a loss of what to do next? The obvious has been checked: The project is set to Debug Configuration Manager Configuration Debug Platform .NET Build : checked. Web.Config: I have attempted to manually attach to the Webdev process from the Debug window and that doesn't work. I have googled this and this problem seems to occur quite a bit.

    Hello I have a project that uses the Enterprise Library 4.1. When I target .net 4 and compile, I get an error that says I need to add a reference to System.ServiceModel version 3. My reference is to System.ServiceModel version 4. How can I tell Visual Studio 2010 to reference a .net3 assembly from a .net3 project? Or, does somebody have a workaround for this issue?
