    I want to change the alignment of a header on a datagrid in Silverlight, and I can't seem to figure out how to do it.   • Size Mismatch Between Swing Fonts and Printable Fonts in Java

    Hi All, I've got a panel displaying a JTextPane backed by a StyledDocument. When I print a string of text in, say Arial 16, the text it prints is of a different size than the Arial 16 Word prints. Is there some sort of flaw in the translation of Swing fonts to Windows system fonts or something of the sort that makes it difficult (or impossible) to print accurately? I can achieve an approximation by scaling down the size of my font before printing, but this never quite gets me the results I would like, as it's not possible in all cases to reproduce things like equivalent numbers of words on a line, etc. Has anybody run into this before?

Could someone explain to me what's the rationale here?     I need to take an array of three lines in a text file and sort them base on the first line in Java. I also need to manipulate this as well and then print to screen. I have a test file that is formatted like this: 10 Michael Jackson 12 Richard Woolsey I need to input this from a text file and then rearrange it based on the number associated with the name. At that point, I need to use a random number generator and assign a variable based on the random number to each name. Then I need to print to screen the variable I added and the name in a different format. Here is an example of the output: 12: Woolsey, Richard Variable assigned 10: Jackson, Michael Other variable assigned I highly appreciate any help.     I've been trying to map an object to a database using SQLAlchemy but have run into a snag. Version info if handy: [OS: Mac OSX 10.5.8 | Python: 2.6.4 | SQLAlchemy: 0.5.8] The class I'm going to map: class Student(object): def __init__(self, name, id): self.id = id self.name = name self.preferences = collections.defaultdict(set) self.allocated_project = None self.allocated_rank = 0 def __repr__(self): return str(self) def __str__(self): return "%s %s" %(self.id, self.name) Background: Now, I've got a function that reads in the necessary information from a text database into these objects. The function more or less works and I can easily access the information from the objects. Before the SQLAlchemy code runs, the function will read in the necessary info and store it into the Class. There is a dictionary called students which stores this as such: students = {} students[id] = Student(<all the info from the various "reader" functions>) Afterwards, there is an "allocation" algorithm that will allocate projects to student. It does that well enough. The allocated_project remains as None if a student is unsuccessful in getting a project. SQLAlchemy bit: So after all this happens, I'd like to map my object to a database table. Using the documentation, I've used the following code to only map certain bits. I also begin to create a Session. from sqlalchemy import * from sqlalchemy.orm import * engine = create_engine('sqlite:///:memory:', echo=False) metadata = MetaData() students_table = Table('studs', metadata, Column('id', Integer, primary_key=True), Column('name', String) ) metadata.create_all(engine) mapper(Student, students_table) Session = sessionmaker(bind=engine) sesh = Session() Now after that, I was curious to see if I could print out all the students from my students dictionary. for student in students.itervalues(): print student What do I get but an error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "~/FYP_Tests/FYP_Tests.py", line 140, in <module> print student File "/~FYP_Tests/Parties.py", line 30, in __str__ return "%s %s" %(self.id, self.name) File "/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/attributes.py", line 158, in __get__ return self.impl.get(instance_state(instance), instance_dict(instance)) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get' I'm at a loss as to how to resolve this issue, if it is an issue.     Hi I have used WeifenLuo.WinFormsUI.Docking Dockpanel in my project. I have three Document Style DockContent (i.e. A, B, C)in my application which has been arranged in tabbed style. On Focus() method of any of this dockContent (i.e. A, B, C) its getting activated and getting focus well. As per requirement i need to hide all three dockcontent(i.e. A, B, C) n need to show other two (i.e. D,E). And then once particular process get over, i close D,E and show A, B, C. Then after On Focus() of C, its focus is not getting set. May i know what could be the reason for the same. Please guide me for the same. Thanks.

  • SSRS 2005 Matrix and border styles when exporting to XLS

    The Matrix in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services 2005) seems to have issues with certain the border styles when exporting to XLS (but not PDF or web view; maybe other formats, not sure?). For example: Create a matrix and set the Matrix border style to Black Solid 1px, but all 4 of the cells to have a border style of Black None 1px. When viewed via the ASP.NET control, it looks correct. But after export to XLS, it creates borders around all of the header cells (column and row headers, and the top left cell), and even the right most data column. But all the cells in the middle of the report correctly have no border set. Update: If the Matrix borders are set to None, then the borders on the cells don't show up in XLS. So, how do you set an outer border around the Matrix, but not have it apply the 'all sides' border to every cell that touches the edge of the Matrix when exported to Excel?

    Hi, On my X Axis, I have months. The chart shows up to 11 points, i.e. Jan - Nov of the same year, but when I add 12 points (Jan - Dec), it will do an auto label thing and change the interval for every 4 months. How can I change the graph so that it shows 12 months before it does the auto labels?   • Printing PDFs Server-side using Acrobat Reader from ASP.NET

    Hi, I have been presented with a problem which requires me to print PDF files from a server as part of an ASP.NET web service. The problem is further complicated by the fact that the PDF files I have to print can ONLY be printed using Adobe Reader (they were created using Adobe LiveCycle and have some strange protection in them). This piece of code seems to do the trick in the Visual Studio development web server, but doesn't do anything when the site's running in IIS. I'm assuming this is probably some sort of permissions issue!? I know this is a FAR from ideal thing to be trying to do, but I haven't really got much choice! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!     I am using Uploadify (http://www.uploadify.com/) to enable my users to upload images via my web application. The problem I am having is that every now and then (at what appears to be random) when the progress bar reaches 100% it 'hangs' and does nothing. I was wondering if any developers familiar with uploadify may have any idea how to solve this? I am in desperate need of some help.     My problem is that when I open web application from Outlook in a separate IE window, the ASP.NET session is lost. This is (as described in several places) because in-memory cookie is lost. So it goes like this: User works with ASP.NET web application in Outlook, and this stores some info in ASP.NET session User clicks Print to open new IE window with print-ready data The new window has different ASP.NET session ID and can't access old data. I think, maybe, if I pass ASP.NET session ID to new IE window, I can somehow "attach" to that session? Tell ASP.NET that this is the one that I need to be current?

Is there a predefined theme/style to obtain the same look of a standard dialog? If not, what are the steps to follow to reach that result?   • ASP.NET Charting Control no longer working with .NET 4

    I've just upgraded to .NET 4 and my ASP.NET Chart Control no longer displays. For .NET 3.5, the HTML produced by the control used to look like this: <img id="20_Chart" src="/ChartImg.axd?i=chart_5f6a8fd179a246a5a0f4f44fcd7d5e03_0.png&amp;g=16eb7881335e47dcba16fdfd8339ba1a" alt="" style="height:300px;width:300px;border-width:0px;" /> and now, for .NET 4, it looks like this (note the change in the source path): <img id="20_Chart" src="/Statistics/Summary/ChartImg.axd?i=chart_5f6a8fd179a246a5a0f4f44fcd7d5e03_0.png&amp;g=16eb7881335e47dcba16fdfd8339ba1a" alt="" style="height:300px;width:300px;border-width:0px;" /> The chart is in an MVC partial view that is in an MVC Area folder called "Statistics" and a MVC Views folder called "Summary" (i.e. "/Areas/Statistics/Views/Summary"), so this is obviously where the change of path is coming from. All I've done is to switch the System.Web.DataVisualization assembly from, 3.5 to 4.0. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Chrome supports the placeholder attribute on input[type=text] elements (others probably do too). But the following CSS doesn't do diddly squat: <style> input[placeholder], [placeholder], *[placeholder] { color:red !important; } </style> <input type="text" placeholder="Value" /> "Value" will still be grey (er, gray. whatever) instead of red. Is there are way to change the color of the placeholder text? p.s. I'm already using the jQuery placeholder plugin for the browsers that don't support the placeholder attribute natively.

If I remove the schema from the XML file and the validation from the PL file then it works fine. I am using the default namespace. If I change it to not use the default namespace (xmlns:lib="http://libs.domain.com" and prefix all items in the XML file with lib and change the XPath expressions to include the namespace prefix (/lib:library/lib:book) then it again works file. Why? and what am I missing?   • Best Practise for Writing a POS System

    Hi, I'm putting together a basic POS system in C# that needs to print to a receipt printer and open a cash drawer. Do I have to use the Microsoft Point of Service SDK? I've been playing around with printing to my Samsung printer using the Windows driver that came with it, and it seems to work great. I assume though that other printers may not come with Windows drivers and then I would be stuck? Or would I be able to simply use the Generic/Text Driver to print to any printer that supports it? For the cash drawer I would need to send codes directly to the COM port which is fine with me, if it saves me the hassle of helping clients setup OPOS drivers on there systems. Am I going down the wrong path here? Thanks, Gary

  • How can I flush the output of disp in Octave?

    I have a program in Octave that has a loop - running a function with various parameters, not something that I can turn into matrices. At the beginning of each iteration I print the current parameters using disp. The first times I ran it I had a brazillion warnings, and then I also got these prints. Now that I cleaned them up, I no longer see them. My guess is that they're stuck in a buffer, and I'll see them when the program ends or the buffer fills. Is there any way to force a flush of the print buffer so that I can see my prints?
