  • radio value lost by $_post array

    - by YsoL8
    Hello I have this simple form: <form method="post" action="?step=2"> <label>A4 - Colour / Colour <input type="radio" name="leaflet" value="1"></label><br> <label>A5 - Colour / Black <input type="radio" name="leaflet" value="2"></label><br> <input type="submit" name="leaflet" value="Select"> </form> When I apply print_r ($_POST); to the submission though, I only get the submit button data. I don't even see the radio name. What could do that?

  • Reset TextBox.Background to default in WPF so it still gets updated when system settings change

    - by Neo
I have a TextBox that I wish to reset its Background property to its default value after changing it to a different colour. I have tried setting it to SystemColors.WindowBrush, but then, if the Display Settings are updated to change this value, it doesn't get dynamically reflected in the TextBox (it does normally if TextBox.Background hasn't been touched). Any idea how to do this?

  • Web app - Biometric system connection

    - by DMin
Hi, I will be developing an application for a club where they will have visitors use biometric systems(finger print) or magnetic cards to mark their attendance. This application is planned as a web app, made using PHP/MySQL/Javascript. It does a lot of other things as well. What I wanted to find out is how is the interface between Biometric/Megnetic Card systems to a web app done? I've never worked on this and am hoping if someone who has experience with this can throw some light on this as to how this could be accomplished. Any pointers will be appreciated. (I'm afraid there's got to be some form of application installed on a pc that would interface with the hardware and probably makes calls to the web app. But, if there was a way to connect it to the web app directly, then the app would be easy to deploy to any location with minimal installation.) Thanks! :)

  • vb.net array for slideshow button

    - by StealthRT
Hey all, i am in the middle of trying to figure out how to go about doing this... I have a form that i call like so: call frmSlideShow.showWhat(1,4,8,9,11,22) Each of the numbers represents a different image slide (slide1.png, slide4.png, etc..). The problem i am having is trying to create a "previous" and "next" button to flip through them all. Trying to figure out what number the user is on and going from there and seeing what numbers are still left from the list above that was sent, etc. If anyone has an idea how i would go about doing that then that would be awesome! :) David

  • System.UnauthorizedAccessException from Serial Port in VB.NET

    - by psuhas
I am using VB.NET 2008 Express Edition to access Serial Port which is a USB to Serial port. Since this is removable, the app user can disconnect it at any time in app. I am getting an unhandled exception when I remove the USB Serial Port. After research, it seems like a known problem in .NET (even in 3.5) I am looking for some solution to get this done. I have already tried the app.config solution that was suggested and it does not work Here is the link for issue http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/Validation.aspx?FeedbackID=140018

  • Structuring System Architecture in a Flex Web Application on a Budget (w/o Java)

    - by phwd
I started a project a while back using the following architecture from Adobe Developer Article talking about Creating marketing platforms in Flex. I did my first set of coding locally forgetting that my server did not handle Tomcat. So I said okay, and cut some corners and then some other limitation came up and I cut some more corners. Eventually for a good week or two, it was trying to get the project working with making the ends meet. Layers started to merge. In the end I used a PureMVC (Presentation/Client) - ZendAMF (Communication) - MySql (Data) Layout. It worked but I never felt as though I had some layer just to take care of all the SQL calls to the data.It just felt hacked together So should I keep the above setup and just start from the presentation layer and move downwards like they said in the article or is there a better layering (based on a hosting plan that does not handle Java) I could accomplish ? NOTE: I would just ask the adobe guys but they barely reply on their site. Thanks !

  • move branches in team system

    - by sagie
Hi. I have the following scenario in my TFS: MyTeamProject Trunc Sources Scripts Installations Prod Sources Scripts Installations When prod is a branch of trunc. Now I need to create versions under my production folder: MyTeamProject Trunc Sources Scripts Installations Prod V1.0.0 Sources Scripts Installations V1.1.0 Sources Scripts Installations How can I move the current production to the version 1.0.0 folder, and still keep on the branch relation from trunc to v1.0.0 (previously "Prod")? If i'll move one folder at a time (Sources, Scripts & Installations), I'll have the branch relation to the specific folders, and not on the entire Trunc. Any Idea?

  • Processes sharing cores on Ubuntu system

    - by muckabout
My coworkers and I share an 8-core server running Ubuntu for our batch processes. I tend to run 4 processes at a time, each of which consumes 100% CPU per core when nothing else is running. When a coworker runs his processes (typically about 4 at a time), his also get 100% per. However, when both of us run ours (he always goes first), his still get 100% and mine seem to divide the remaining processing power and linger in the 10-40% range. I even reniced his process to a lower value and it did not change. What are the issues that may cause this?

  • Having issues with initializing character array

    - by quandrum
Ok, this is for homework about hashtables, but this is the simple stuff I thought I was able to do from earlier classes, and I'm tearing my hair out. The professor is not being responsive enough, so I thought I'd try here. We have a hashtable of stock objects. The stock objects are created like so: stock("IBM", "International Business Machines", 2573, date(date::MAY, 23, 1967)) my constructor looks like: stock::stock(char const * const symbol, char const * const name, int sharePrice, date priceDate): symbol(NULL), name(NULL), sharePrice(sharePrice), dateOfPrice(priceDate) { setSymbol(symbol); setName(name); } and setSymbol looks like this: (setName is indentical): void stock::setSymbol(const char* symbol) { if (this->symbol) delete [] this->symbol; this->symbol = new char[strlen(symbol)+1]; strcpy(this->symbol,symbol); } and it refuses to allocate on the line this->symbol = new char[strlen(symbol)+1]; with a std::bad_alloc. name and symbol are declared char * name; char * symbol; I feel like this is exactly how I've done it in previous code.I'm sure it's something silly with pointers. Can anyone help?

  • Operating System for first production windows server code?

    - by Unkwntech
I'm getting ready to purchase a server for me to deploy my first windows based (C# .NET) application but I'm not familiar with using windows for hosted applications. I have the choice of the following versions of windows: Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2003 Web Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Windows Server 2008 Windows Server 2008 Web Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Would one of these be better for deploying a C# .NET application? EDIT: There will be 3 applications deployed but each will basically be the same, they will be services that are driven from data being brought in from a website that will likely run on the same server. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/compare-roles.aspx

  • Determining whether compiling on Windows or other system

    - by NumberFour
Hi, Im currently developing a cross-platform C application. Is there any compiler macro which is defined only during compilation on Windows, so I can #ifdef some Windows specific #includes? Typical example is selecting between WinSock and Berkeley sockets headers: #ifdef _WINDOWS #include <winsock.h> #else #include <sys/socket.h> #include <netinet/in.h> #include <sys/un.h> #include <arpa/inet.h> #include <netdb.h> #endif So the thing Im looking for is something like that _WINDOWS macro. Thanks for any tips.

  • Extending the .NET type system so the compiler enforces semantic meaning of primitive values in cert

    - by Drew Noakes
I'm working with geometry a bit at the moment and am converting a lot between degrees and radians. Unfortunately, both of these are represented by double, so there's compile time warning/error if I try to pass a value in degrees where radians are expected. I believe F# has a compile-time solution for this (called units of measure.) I'd like to do something similar in C#. As another example, imagine a SQL library that accepts various query parameters as strings. It'd be good to have a way of enforcing that only clean strings were allowed to be passed in at runtime, and the only way to get a clean string was to pass through some SQL injection attack preventing logic. The obvious solution is to wrap the double/string/whatever in a new type to give it the type information the compiler needs. I'm curious if anyone has an alternative solution. If you do think wrapping is the only/best way, then please go into some of the downsides of the pattern (and any upsides I haven't mentioned too.) I'm especially concerned about the performance of abstracted primitive numeric types on my calculations at runtime.

  • How do I return an array from a method?

    - by dwwilson66
    I'm trying to create a deck of cards for my homework. Code is posted below. I need to create four sets of cards (the four suits) and am create a multidimensional array. When I print the results instead of trying to pass the array, I can see that the data in the array is as expected. However, when I try to pass the array card, I get an error cannot find symbol. I've got this modeled after texbook and Java tutorial examples, and I need some help figuring out what I'm missing. I've over-documented to give an idea of how I'm thinking this SHOULD work...please let me know where I've gone horribly wrong in my understanding. import java.util.*; import java.lang.*; // public class CardGame { public static int[][] main(String[] args) { int[][] startDeck = deckOfCards(); /* cast new deck as int[][], calling method deckOfCards System.out.println(" /// from array: " + Arrays.deepToString(startDeck)); } public static int[][] deckOfCards() /* method to return a multi-dimensional array */ { int rank; int suit; for(rank=1;rank<14;rank++) /* cards 1 - 13 .... */ { for(suit=1;suit<5;suit++) /* suits 1 - 4 .... */ { int[][] card = new int[][] /* define a new card... */ { {rank,suit} /* with rank/suit from for... loops */ }; System.out.println(" /// from array: " + Arrays.deepToString(card)); } } return card; /* Error: cannot find symbol } }

  • char array to LPCTSTR

    - by Yan Cheng CHEOK
May I know how I can perform the following conversion? // el.strCap is char[50] // InsertItem is expecting TCHAR pointer (LPCTSTR) // How I can perform conversion? // I do not have access in both "list" and "el" source code // Hence, there is no way for me to modify their signature. list.InsertItem(i, el.strCap); And No. I do not want to use WideCharToMultiByte They are too cumbersome to be used.
