    I have a QTimeEdit which I want to set to some value and the each second I want to decrease by 1 the value that shows the QTimeEdit. So when it will be 0, the I want to have a QMeesageBox that says "Your time is off.". Can I some how do this with QTimeEdit interface, or I should use QTimer?

    I am a newbie to iPhone development. I have already created an UITableView. I have wired everything up and included the delegate and datasource. However, instead of adding a detail view accessory by using UITableViewCellAccessoryDetailClosureButton, I would like to click the UITableViewCell and it should lead to another view with more details about the UITableViewCell.   • How can I draw a shadow beyond a UIView's bounds?

    I'm using the method described at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/805872/how-do-i-draw-a-shadow-under-a-uiview to draw shadow behind a view's content. The shadow is clipped to the view's bounds, although I disabled "Clip Subviews" in Interface Builder for the view. Is it possible to draw a shadow around a view and not only in a view? I don't want to draw the shadow inside the view because the view would receive touch events for the shadow area, which really belongs to the background.

We are leaning towards a hybrid model in whcih the requirements gathering session is comprised of a business analyst, subject matter experts, technical person and a user interface person.   • Using object instead of AppDelegate for Outlets & Actions?

    In all the MonoTouch examples I have seen everyone is using outlets and actions on AppDelegate, yet when I've been through some objective-C webcasts I see people using an Object they drag onto XIB in Interface Builder and using that (Seems a lot cleaner). Is there just not a way to reference any Objects like that that we create? Is there a particular way to access it? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

  • How important is the .NET programming language when you choose a new job?

    We are currently hiring at the company where I work, and here the codebase is in VB.Net. We are worried that we miss out on a lot of brilliant programmers, who would never ever consider working with VB.Net. My own background is Java and C#, and I was somewhat sceptical as to whether it would work out with VB, as - to be honest - i didn't care much for VB. After a month or so, I was completely fluent in VB, and a few months later i discovered to my surprise, that I actually like VB. I still code my free time projects in C# and Boo though. So my question is firstly, how important is language for you, when you choose a new programming job? Lets say if its a great company, salary is good, and generally an attractive work-place. Would you say no to the perfect job, if the language wasn't your preferred dialect? VB or C# is one thing, but how about Java or C# etc. Secondly if the best developers won't join your company because of your language or platform, would you consider changing, to get the right people? (This is not a language bashing thread, so please no religious language wars) NB: This is Community Wiki

  • Mdi Children Changed in .Net

    Hi Is there a simple way of tracking the change of an Mdi's children i.e. when they are created and closed, something like an event OnMdiChildListChanged (I realise this doesn't actually exist). I am also aware that I could have a method within my Mdi that handles the creation of child forms and logs the state of them or even create an Interface that defines that a child form has a "NotifyParent" method that is then called on close of the form, but i was wondering if there was any built in events that i could plumb into?     Okay, so I've figured out how to get my external ip using wget: wget -q -O - http://whatismyip.com/automation/n09230945.asp that outputs the ip to the command console. adding currentip.txt to the end will write it to a text file. But what I want to do is use netsh interface ip set address name="Local Area Connection 2" source=static addr=[WHAT DO I PUT HERE] Also, a way to make the command prompt not flash would be nice too :)

The error is shown below. ** (file-roller:5453): CRITICAL **: Failed to parse arguments: Cannot open display: How can I prevent file-roller from using GUI or can you recommend me any other archieve manager I can use from terminal.     Dear all, first thing to note is the serialVersionUID of a class implementing Interface Serializable is not in question. What if we create a class that for example extends HttpServlet? It also should have a serialVersionUID. If someone knows that this object will never be serialized should he define it or add an annotation to suppress those warnings? What would you do and why?
