  • Automatically select option from select menu with link

    - by Ben
Hello there, I am trying to use php (and if not php, javascript) to link to a page and include a "?type=foo" or "#foo" at the end of the link so that when the linked page loads it will automatically select a specific option, depending on the end of the link, from a dropdown menu in a form. I have tried to search for this but do not know what this action is actually called, but I've seen it done before. Does anyone know how to achieve this? Thanks very much.

  • Android Web App : Position:fixed broken?

    - by StevenGilligan
Hi all, I'm in the process of developping a Web Application for mobiles. I went with web applications because to me it seems a winning situation having to develop one application that could run also on iPhone / Windows Mobile / Palm etc. I started testing today after a few days of doing concepts, ideas and designs and what I wanted to do was have a menu that sticks at the bottom of the page. Exactly like the menu on the bottom in this iPhone application screenshot : http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3094/2656904921_1c54e93b4f.jpg Using CSS, I though it would be really easy to do this. Only using position:fixed; bottom:0; would have done the trick but I have found it doesn't behave the same on mobile browsers I tried to split my page in 2 sections : 1 would be a scrollable div (for the content) and the other one would be the bottom menu. Scrollable divs also do not work on Android. I also tried using frames with no luck either. Does anyone know of any way to re-create a menu that would stick to the bottom of a page for mobile phones? Thank you, Steven

  • File size and mime-type before upload

    - by Marcos Placona
Hi, I've scavenged on every single topic on this forum to try and find an answer before I posted this. Most people say you should simply use SWFUpload, some others mention Activex, and it keeps going. I know this is do-able, as Google does it with gMail when you try to upload a file that's bigger than 25mb, or executable. My question is, how can I determine the file size and mime-type before the file actually hits my server. I primarily thought it was an impossible task, but Google proves me wrong. Could anyone give me a definitive answer on how to accomplish such task? Thanks

    - by kawtousse
    I am trying to send parameters that I get from a table in my jsp to other JSP using ajax. I am using the followinf function to send all values to JSP: ajaxForm but I don't know why the send failed every time I run it: Here is the javascript function: function editarow() { var xhr = getXhr(); xhr.onreadystatechange = function() { if (xhr.readyState == 4 && xhr.status == 200) { selects = xhr.responseText; // On se sert de innerHTML pour rajouter les options a la liste document.getElementById('prjsel').innerHTML = selects; } }; var row, firstNameCell, lastNameCell; var table = document.getElementById("sheet"); var buttons = table.getElementsByTagName("button"); for (var i = 0; i < buttons.length; i++) { if (buttons[i].name == "edit") { buttons[i].onclick = function() { row = this.parentNode.parentNode; // The first name cell is the first child NameCell1 = findElement(row.firstChild); NameCell2 = findElement(NameCell1.nextSibling); NameCell3 = findElement(NameCell2.nextSibling); NameCell4 = findElement(NameCell3.nextSibling); NameCell5 = findElement(NameCell4.nextSibling); NameCell6 = findElement(NameCell5.nextSibling); NameCell7 = findElement(NameCell6.nextSibling); // `innerHTML` pour obtenir la valeur /*alert("name 1 is " + NameCell1.innerHTML); alert("name 2 is " + NameCell2.innerHTML); alert("name 3 is " + NameCell3.innerHTML); alert("name 4 is " + NameCell4.innerHTML); alert("name 5 is " + NameCell5.innerHTML); alert("name 6 is " + NameCell6.innerHTML); alert("name 7 is " + NameCell7.innerHTML);*/ } } } xhr.open("POST", "ajaxForm.jsp", true); xhr.setRequestHeader('Content-Type', 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'); xhr.send("NameCell1="+NameCell1,"NameCell2="+NameCell2,"NameCell3="+NameCell3,"NameCell4="+NameCell4,"NameCell5="+NameCell5,"NameCell6="+NameCell6,"NameCell7="+NameCell7 ); } After I get the value from the table I want to send all of them to the ajaxForm.jsp.

  • IFrame causing javascript code to not execute

    - by Claudio Redi
Does anyone know why this code doesn't work. This means, the alert is NOT fired <iframe/> <script type="text/javascript">alert('hello');</script> While this code with the alert BEFORE the Iframe works perfeclty. This means the alert is fired <script type="text/javascript">alert('hello');</script> <iframe/> Seems that no javascript placed after the iframe is executed, I don't find any logic to this.

  • Fancy Box doesnt work please help

    - by JL
I recently came across fancy box located here, I've followed every step in the instructions perfectly, but it doesn't work, anyone know what might be the problem? Here is a sample of my page source: Included the links to scripts as required, and CSS: <script src="jquery.fancybox-1.2.1/jquery.fancybox/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="jquery.fancybox-1.2.1/jquery.fancybox/jquery.fancybox-1.2.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <link href="jquery.fancybox-1.2.1/jquery.fancybox/jquery.fancybox.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> Then this should simply work: <a id="single_image" href="images/279641.jpg"><img src="images/279641.jpg" /></a> But it doesn't seem to do anything except open the image in a new window. Any suggestions, and thanks in advance.

  • iframe accessing parent DOM?

    - by Yuval A
How is it possible for a script within an <iframe> to have any notion of the page containing it? Can a script in the frame access any context outside of it? What about cross-domain? Up until now I believed an <iframe> is completely agnostic to the containing page, but I have seen an example which contradicts this belief. What exactly can and can't be done from within an <iframe> with respect to the containing page?

  • Three vertically stacked DIVs with scrolling middle

    - by Dave
Is it possible to stack three DIVs vertically and have just the middle div scroll vertically? I don't want to use pixel heights, though, because the DIVs are inside of a dialog box that is resizeable. Something like this (pardon my lousy ASCII art): +-----------+ | Header | +-----------+ | ^| | || | Scroll || | || | v| +-----------+ | Footer | +-----------+ The goal is to have the header and and footer fixed and, as the dialog grows, the middle div would grow vertically. Maybe I'm just being stupid, but I've been fighting this for the last few hours and can't seem to get it right. The three DIVs probably need to be inside "another" DIV but when I do that, and set the height to 100%, it grows as the middle DIV grows. Again, it's probably something silly I'm not accounting for. I've also tried using a TABLE to no avail. Thanks for any help.

Since it is not displayed, I can't code it like changeLang("Browse..."); That's why I need to get the code of this input type and override so that I can apply my function to Browse text. It should leave the data in form elements

  • Unknown address suggestion

    - by diamandiev
Usually when you try to add a marker to an unknown/ambiguous address you just get an error from the api. It would be much nicer if i could display a list of suggestions related to the address that was not found. The Google maps site has this feature but i do not know how to do with the api. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Form submits correctly in Chrome/FF, but fails altogether in IE/Safari

    - by culov
    I have a form with a css submit button. When a the submit button is clicked, i call a function that executes: document.forms["request"].onsubmit(); What should happen, then, is that the onsubmit method ought to be triggered. This works properly in Chrome/FF, but for some reason IE/Safari will bypass the onsubmit function and simply add the parameter "address=" onto the url as if it were submitting the form and ignoring the onsubmit function. Heres the code for the form: <form id="request" method="get" onsubmit="addLocation(this.address.value); return false;"> <br> <label style="position:relative;left:5px;" for="address">Enter an intersection or address: </label> <br> <br> <input style="height:35px; width:300px;position:relative;bottom:1px;left:10px;" id="address" name="address" class="required address"/> <a style="float:right;right:120px;position:relative;" class="button" onclick="submit();"> <span>Submit Request </span> </a> </form> and what follows are some relevant js functions: function addLocation(address) { if (geocoder) { geocoder.getLocations(address, function (point) { if (!point) { alert(address + " not found"); } else { if (point.Placemark[0].address != submittedString) { submittedString = point.Placemark[0].address; addRow(point.Placemark[0].address); req = "addrequest?truck=" + "coolhaus&address=" + point.Placemark[0].address; alert(req); addRequest(req); request.onreadystatechange = function () {} } } }); } } function addRequest(req) { try { request = new XMLHttpRequest(); } catch (e) { try { request = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } catch (e) { alert("XMLHttpRequest error: " + e); } } request.open("GET", req, true); request.send(null); return request; } You can test the form here: http://la.truxmap.com/request?id=grillmastersla Thanks so much!

  • CSS doesn't apply to dynamically created elements in IE 7?

    - by Austin Hyde
In the project I am working on, I dynamically generate (with javascript) filters that look like this: <div class="filter"> <a ... class="filter_delete_link">Delete</a> <div class="filter_field"> ... </div> <div class="filter_compare"> ... </div> <div class="filter_constraint"> ... </div> <div class="filter_logic"> ... </div> </div> And I have CSS that applies to each filter (for example): .filter a.filter_delete_link{ display:block; height:16px; background: url('../images/remove_16.gif') no-repeat; padding-left:20px; } However, it seems in IE 7 (and probably 6 for that matter), these styles don't get applied to the new filters. Everything works perfectly in Firefox/Chrome/IE8. Using the IE8 developer tools, set to IE7 mode, the browser can see the new elements, and can see the CSS, but just isn't applying the CSS. Is there a way to force IE to reload styles, or perhaps is there a better way to fix this?

  • assigning width to li

    - by badnaam
    I am using jquery ui tabs, which requires the tabs to be <li> elements, by default at least. I only need 2 tabs, but I am not able to size them so that they are both equal and take up 100% of available width of the ul. here is my code. <div id="intro_tabs" class="tabs"> <ul id="intro_nav"> <li> <h3><a href ="#tabs-1" class="null_link"><%= t('home.index.what_is_it') %></a></h3> </li> <li> <h3><a href ="#tabs-2" class="null_link"><%= t('home.index.how_works') %></a></h3> </li> </ul> <div id="tabs-1"> <%= simple_format t 'home.index.what_intro_details' %> </div> <div id="tabs-2"> <div id="intro_accordion"> <h3><a href="#">Users</a></h3> <div> <%= t 'home.index.how_intro_details_user' %> </div> <h3><a href="#">Merchants</a></h3> <div> <%= t 'home.index.how_intro_details_merchant' %> </div> </div> </div> </div> I have tried using css property width:50%, on both li's but it doesn't work. • CSS Centering Issue - Div Centering appx 15px too far to the right

    - by Sootah
I have a theme that I'm modifying for my site. I currently have it live on my test domain while I tinker with it before launch. http://www.networkgenius.org The #content-wrap div is centering, but too far to the right for some reason. I've absolutely no idea why it's doing this, especially since everything else is centering properly. What is the problem? I did add a 15px padding to the content-wrap area as I've changed the body's background color to the grey that you see and obviously didn't want the text pressed right up against the edges of the wrapper. Thanks for your help! -Sootah

  • How to save a HTMLElement (Table) in localStorage?

    - by Hagbart Celine
I've been trying this for a while now and could not find anything online... I have a project, where tablerows get added to a table. Works fine. Now I want to save the Table in the localStorage, so I can load it again. (overwrite the existing table). function saveProject(){ //TODO: Implement Save functionality var projects = []; projects.push($('#tubes table')[0].innerHTML); localStorage.setItem('projects', projects); //console.log(localStorage.getItem('projects')); The problem is the Array "projects" has (after one save) 2000+ elements. But all I want is the whole table to be saved to the first (or appending later) index. In the end I want the different Saves to be listed on a Option element: function loadSaveStates(){ alert('loading saved states...'); var projects = localStorage.getItem('projects'); select = document.getElementById('selectSave'); //my Dropdown var length = projects.length, element = null; console.log(length); for (var i = 0; i < length; i++) { element = projects[i]; var opt = document.createElement('option'); opt.value = i; opt.innerHTML = 'project ' + i; select.appendChild(opt); } } Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
