  I have a product setup executable that copies some files to the user's hard drive. It's not a typical installer in the normal sense (it doesn't add anything to the Start Menu or Program Files folders). Each time the setup program is run on Vista, after the exe terminates, Vista produces a task dialog: This program might not have installed correctly Reinstall using recommended settings This program installed correctly Is there a function I need to call from the exe or registry entry to set, to indicate to the operating system that the program installed correctly (or to at least supress this message)? • Duplicate an element on button-push with jQuery

  I'm new to jQuery, and I'm trying to cause another identical dropdown menu to appear each time the user presses a button. I thought this would work, where #append is the button id and #foo is the dropdown id: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#append").click(function(){ $("#foo").append($("#foo")); }); }); </script> However, rather than duplicating the original dropdown, it causes it to disappear! What am I doing wrong?

• Will dynamicaly generated content via Javascript hurt SEO

  This is what I would like to do. I would like to load content dynamically. Everything except the actual content will be rendered by javascript. I will place all the require information in a javascript variable or array at the bottom of the page. Then I will use javascript to place the content in the designated area. These are the types of things I would like javascript to render: Login menu Header and logo info Side bar info Footer info Dialog popups Ads All of the MEAT content will not be rendered by javascript. I will use the backend server to put the content in html. My logic is that more of the real content will be in HTML and all the other things will be rendered by javascript. Will this help or hurt SEO?

  I have a menu-bar based application, which displays a window, when the icon is clicked. It all works fine on Mac OS X Lion, but for some reason, an error occurs on Snow Leopard an sooner versions of Mac OS X. Anytime [TheWindowController window] is called the method stops, but the app keeps running. Because of this, I don't think that the window is just nil, it's corrupt, in some way. I have no Idea why this happens, and like I said, it only happens in Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Btw. I use ARC, if that matters at all. Thank you!

• php/mysql show data from chosen checkboxes

  Hi. I have a table called FRUIT id type daysold 1 banana 5 2 apple 6 3 apple 4 4 peach 2 5 banana 6 What I would like is to have 3 checkboxes: Banana [ ] Apple [ ] Peach [ ] SUBMIT Then if I've only checked "Banana" and "Peach" the mysql output should only show me the rows that matches those two types. And the checkboxes should remain checked to highlight what was chosen. I can make the checkboxes but then that's about it really. I don't know how to properly get the info from the checkboxes and down to the WHERE argument in the MYSQL-code. Especially not with two types chosen. If it was just a dropdown menu with a single choice then I'd add the choice to the url and put WHERE type='$choice' - but I'm struggling with the multiple choices. I'm a bit of a novice at both php and mysql, so I'm a bit lost on this one.

• PreferenceActivity not showing twice on android

  Hello there, i've a PreferenceActivity which works perfectly the first time i launch it. But if i close it ( with the back button ) and then i re open it ( through a menu click in the main activity ) then i get a black screen. There is no preferences at all.. I can't figure it out why it should not working. It seems all the code is being called normally as the working one but no preferences are showing on the screen. Did someone had the same behaviour ?

• Visual Studio Config File Editor - Not Formatting

  Hi All, My VS 2008 seems to be acting a bit weird and the solution is eluding me. The problem is that if I open a config file; app.config or web.config, this looks and behaves as a plain text document. I have no formatting, no coloring, no intellisense and no collapsible or expandable regions. I have reset all setting and restored default file associations. If I go into the setting menu, Text Editor, XML, formatting I see an error "An error occurred loading this property page" Has any one seen this before and have you go a solution. Thanks

  Hi all... I've a vb.net class that is invoked with a context menu extension in Internet Explorer. The code has access to the object model of the page, and reading data is not a problem. This is the code of a test funcion... it changes the status bar text (OK), prints the page html (OK), changes the html by adding a text and prints again the page html (ok, in the second popup my added text is in the html) But the Internet Explorer window doesnt't show it.   hi i am making an eclipse plugin which make a ui on right clicking a project in eclipse workspce . the ui contains text fields , package explorer for the current project and directory explorer for current project. i have successfully made a ui which appears on clicking a menu item on right clicking the project but it seems i can't make any jface or swt ui since they are not visible when we are using eclipse command hadlers .so in order to overcome it i made dialog pages but they have limited dialog like directorty dialog and file dialog and that too for entire window directory..... but i want package explorer and directory explorer for the project i just chose like it happens when u try making a new class in a project the browse buttons just show packages and directory struture w.r.t to current selection am i doin things wrong or is there a way out please suggest .....

• Strange CSS Positioning issue with a fader on a responsive site

  I'm developing a prototype responsive wordpress theme version of my homepage. I'm running into issues with the fader on the homepage. http://dev.epicwebdesign.ca/epicblog/ When the image switches, it uses position:absolute to overlay the pictures, then goes back to position:relative. I need to make the absolute be relative to the bottom left corner of the menu instead of the top left corner of #wrap so it doesn't overlap. I tried putting it in a container div like this: http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/doc/contributor-guide/browser#TOC-Absolutely-positioned-box-inside-a-box-with-overflow:-auto-or-hidden but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? There are major CSS compatibility issues in IE, try it in chrome. It should look similar to http://epicwebdesign.ca. When the browser window is shrunk horizontially, the whole theme compensates.

However.. when I run an app on Eclipse, it still insists on opening it up in an emulator rather than my phone. How can I fix that?

When I go to menu Preferences/ Team / SVN , it produce error: "Incompatible JavaHL library loaded. 1.7.x or later required." I find to install SVN Kit, so use it instead of JavaHL as the very first link refer (here), but I don't see it in Subclipse package.

• Changing default image viewer in registry

  I want my application to change the program which should be launched if ie. a .jpg (in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT) is launched. The *.jpg and *.jpeg items in the registry references the jpegfile-class, but when I change the value of the default application to open the file, the old default is still launched, but not my program. (I set the value in jpegfile/shell/open/command/ to the path of my application.) In firefox, the right-click menu etc the choice of default viewer will show that my application should be launched, but it isn't.

  When I moved to Objective C (iOS) from C++ (and little Java) I had hard time understanding memory management in iOS. But now all this seems natural and I know retain, autorelease, copy and release stuff. After reading about ARC, I am wondering is there more benefits of using ARC or it is just that you dont have to worry about memory management. Before moving to ARC I wanted to know how worth is moving to ARC. XCode has "Convert to Objective C ARC" menu. Is the conversion is that simple (nothing to worry about)? Does it help me in reducing my apps memory foot-print, memory leaks etc (somehow ?) Does it has much testing impact on my apps ? What are non-obvious advantages? Any Disadvantage os moving to it?

  Hi, I'm creating a multi-tabbed .NET application that allows the user to dynamically add and remove tabs at runtime. When a new tab is added, a control is added to it (as a child), in which the contents can be edited (eg. a text box). The user can perform tasks on the currently visible text box using a toolbar/menu bar. To better explain this, look at the picture below to see an example of what I want to accomplish. It's just a mock-up, so it doesn't actually work that way, but it shows what I want to get done. Essentially, like a multi-tabbed Notepad. • R: How to update a package and keep it from reverting to the original?

  I want to upgrade the package ggplot2: library(ggplot2) packageDescription("ggplot2")["Version"] > 0.8.3 But the current version is 0.8.7. I tried update.packages(), which seemed to work OK. But it still returned older version 0.8.3. So I downloaded and installed the package source from Cran, which says 0.8.7 in the download page. I then install it via the GUI menu in R. It returns ** building package indices ... * DONE (ggplot2) I then run: packageDescription("ggplot2")["Version"] > 0.8.3 And still I have the older version! I don't know why this is not working, what's more I had already come across this problem before and solved it (I can't remember exactly what) but now it has gone back to the older version! What's the easiest way to keep packages like this updated automatically and not have them refer back to older packages?

• Why Eclipse does not see .jar file of a library?

  I have a java project in which I have "Referenced Libraries". In the "Referenced Libraries" I have a .jar file of a library that I use (I use only one external library). When I try to "Run - Run" the code I have a NullPointerException. From my previous experience I know that it it (very likely) because my code does not see the library. I just started to use Eclipse and it can be the I do not "connect" libraries in a correct way. Should I use some options or additional action to force Eclipse to see the .jar file of the library? ADDED: By the right click on the library I get a drop-down menu in which I see "Build Path". My be I need to do something there?

  I am currently looking at using either the Taxonomy or CCK module on my Drupal site as a means to create a hierarchical system. However, I'm a little confused on which one would best suit my needs, or if there is something else that would work better. Basically, there will be probably 70 or so "mini-sites" on the website I'm working on, each with a landing page and about 5 sub-pages of detailed information. I need a way to mark those sub-pages as being sub-pages of their parent page, as well as create a menu system to navigate between them. What is the best way this could be done? In my first trial to use pydev with eclipse, I created 2 module under the src package(the default one) FirstModule.py: ''' Created on 18.06.2009 @author: Lars Vogel ''' def add(a,b): return a+b def addFixedValue(a): y = 5 return y +a print "123" run.py: ''' Created on Jun 20, 2011 @author: Raymond.Yeung ''' from FirstModule import add print add(1,2) print "Helloword" When I pull out the pull down menu of the run button, and click "ProjectName run.py", here is the result: 123 3 Helloword Apparantly both module ran, why? Is this the default setting?
