  • Conditional Styling In Silverlight?

    - by DeanMc
Hi, While I'm fine with standard control styling in silverlight I have recently began using more dynamic methods of fetching data to be displayed in items controls. One of the controls I am reworking is a collection of links. The issue I am having is that each link is coloured differently when moused over. One red, one blue, one green, etc. Is there a way to style these items without sacrificing the dynamics of using an items control with a data template?

  • Should we use server generated XAML to deliver our Silverlight/WPF UIs?

    - by brownj
Back in January 2009, Dino Esposito published an article on MSDN titled "Managing Dynamic Content Delivery In Silverlight". We are considering using an approach like this for an upcoming project and were wondering if anyone had any advice on whether this is a good approach. Are there any traps or pitfalls we should look out for? We currently use Prism and would need to look at how the two would live happily together.

  • How popular is WPF as a technology?

    - by Vaibhav
I had a discussion with some colleagues mentioning that there are not too many projects that we do which make use of WPF for creating UI for a windows application (we almost always use Windows Forms instead). Are your experiences the same - i.e. there is not too much adoption of this technology? Why do you think that is? And will we have a time when we see much more of WPF?

  • What are the benefits of prototypal inheritance over classical?

    - by Pierreten
So I finally stopped dragging my feet all these years and decided to learn JavaScript "properly". One of the most head-scratching elements of the languages design is it's implementation of inheritance. Having experience in Ruby, I was really happy to see closures and dynamic typing; but for the life of me can't figure out what benefits are to be had from object instances using other instances for inheritance.

I have read up on MVC to an extent that i know the high level design choices that I will have to make, however as a developer, I do not feel comfortable unless i code in it...

  • one page has 9 urls. I am looking for 301 auto redirect syntax for multiple urls.

    - by Ali Demirtas
Hi This is the third time I am asking this question. I am only looking for the syntax of how to solve this problem. I am using prestashop as the cart for my website. I have a problem; the website used to be in dynamic urls. I enabled friendly url writing. The problem is that one page has more than one url. You can access a same page from the dynamic url and static url. In fact a single page has 9 different urls. This obviously creates problems for seo as search engines penalize my website for this. Here are examples of a page with more than 2 urls (http://www.turkishfootballstore.com/lang-nl/product.php?id_product=515) (http://www.turkishfootballstore.com/fenerbahce/515-fenerbahce-thuisshirt-20092010.html) (http://www.turkishfootballstore.com/lang-nl/fenerbahce/515-fenerbahce-thuisshirt-20092010.html) you can see even the static url's have 2 one with language defined and the other without. out fo the three urls above the correct one is the one at the bottom. What can I do to solve this problem? I have no knowledge of programming. Here is the htaccess for the website. Any sample code or help is really appreciated. There is 550 pages and every page is published in 17 different languages I want to use a 301 auto redirect. What is the simplest way to do it? Please only reply if you have the coding for a auto 301 redirect! • WPF reference style in resource dictionary and use triggers

    - by Taylor
I have a style defined in a resource dictionary that applies to all ComboBox controls. Within the ComboBox control, I reference the style like so: Style="{DynamicResource MyComboBoxStyle}" This works ok. I want to be able to add some triggers to some of the ComboBox controls. What is a good way to use the style referenced as a dynamic resource yet still be able to add triggers to some of the ComboBox controls?

  • A strategy to troubleshoot/ fix application crashes in Windows?

    - by Manav Sharma
All, Over a period of time I have observed that fixing issues related to application crash is a discipline in itself. Some people have this nice way of attacking such problems. Ranging from Viewing the 'Event Viewer' to running Static/ Dynamic memory analysis tools to some of their 'personal favorites', these people have developed this art. Can we share articles/ links/ personal approaches that we use to understand/ troubleshoot/ fix such issues? Thanks

  • use viewengine only within certain area

    - by Daniel Powell
Is it possible to use a custom view engine for a specific area only? I have tried public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Forms_default", "Forms/{client}/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { client="Generic",action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); ViewEngines.Engines.Clear(); ViewEngines.Engines.Add(new ClientSpecificViewEngine()); } Within my area but this seems to be a site wide affect as I'm getting errors specific to the custom view engine when visiting pages outside the area.

  • Django model fields getter / setter

    - by pistacchio
Hi, is there something like getters and setters for django model's fields? For example, I have a text field in which i need to make a string replace before it get saved (in the admin panel, for both insert and update operations) and make another, different replace each time it is read. Those string replace are dynamic and need to be done at the moment of saving and reading. As I'm using python 2.5, I cannot use python 2.6 getters / setters. Any help?

  • Is there a good Open Source, XSD based Web Editor?

    - by ashansky
I'm looking for a good open source web editor that will take xsd (or some other standard XML) and from that generate web forms that will enable the end user to generate standard xml (without knowing anything about xml obliviously). I took a look at kupu, but there doesn't seem to be much documentation and the site appears to no longer exist. Is there anything out there that does this already. I could write something like this myself, but if there's something that out there that will save me some time that would be great. Thanks
