• How can match end-of-line multiple times in a regex without interpolation?

  Hi, if I have a input with new lines in it like: [INFO] xyz [INFO] How can I pull out the xyz part? I tried a pattern like /^\[INFO\]$(.*?)$\[INFO\]/ms, but perl gives me: Use of uninitialized value $\ in regexp compilation at scripts\t.pl line 6. I've been trying things to get interpolation to stop like using qr// but alas, no love. EDIT: The key is that the end-of-line anchor is a dollar sign but at times it may be necessary to intersperse the end-of-line anchor through the pattern. If the pattern is interpolating then you might get problems such as uninitialized $\. For instance an acceptable solution here is /^\[INFO\]\s*^(.*?)\s*^\[INFO\]/ms but that does not solve the crux of the first problem. I've changed the anchors to be ^ so there is no interpolation going on, and with this input I'm free to do that. But what about when I really do want to reference EOL with $ in my pattern? How do I get the regex to compile?

I tried using window.location for this, but that does not work.   Hello, Im trying to find a regular expression that matches this kind of URL: http://sub.domain.com/selector/F/13/K/100546/sampletext/654654/K/sampletext_sampletext.html and dont match this: http://sub.domain.com/selector/F/13/K/10546/sampletext/5987/K/sample/K/101/sample_text.html only if the number of /K/ is minimum 1 and maximum 2 (something with a quantifier like {1,2}) Until this moment i have the following regexp: http://sub\.domain\.com/selector/F/[0-9]{1,2}/[a-z0-9_-]+/ Now i would need a hand to add any kind of condition like: Match this if in the text appears the /K/ from 1 to 2 times at most. • Flex 3 Regular Expression Problem

  I've written a url validator for a project I am working on. For my requirements it works great, except when the last part for the url goes longer than 22 characters it breaks. My expression: /((https?):\/\/)([^\s.]+.)+([^\s.]+)(:\d+\/\S+)/i It expects input that looks like "http(s)://hostname:port/location". When I give it the input: https://demo10:443/111112222233333444445 it works, but if I pass the input https://demo10:443/1111122222333334444455 it breaks. You can test it out easily at http://ryanswanson.com/regexp/#start. Oddly, I can't reproduce the problem with just the relevant (I would think) part /(:\d+\/\S+)/i. I can have as many characters after the required / and it works great. Any ideas or known bugs?

  I would like to query my table for how many rows contain one or more instances of <CR><LF><LF>. I can't figure out the correct syntax. I would try LIKE '%<CR><LF><LF>%', but I don't know how to specify these special characters. I did try where mydata REGEXP '%[.CR.][.LF.][.LF.]%', and that didn't get a syntax error but neither did it return any rows. So, I realized I need a way to insert the test data as well! Note: I am using mysql 5.0.

  I'm trying to replace all mentions of [b] in a text string and replace it with <b>. The problem with what I'm using below this that it's replace every [b] on the page, and I only want it to change the [b]'s within the text string ("text") that I'm sending in. Taking out the 'g' for global in the regex doesn't work very well because it then doesn't replace them all... text = text.replace(new RegExp('(^|\\s|>)\\[b](\\S.*?\\S)\\[/b]($|\\s|<)', 'gim') , '$1<strong>$2</strong>$3'); any ideas? • MySQL inner join different results

  I am trying to work out why the following two queries return different results: SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i INNER JOIN `tblinvoiceitems` it ON it.userid=i.userid INNER JOIN `tblcustomfieldsvalues` cf ON it.relid=cf.relid WHERE i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' and SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i WHERE i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' Obviously the difference is the inner join here, but I don't understand why the one with the inner join is returning less results than the one without it, I would have thought since I didn't do any cross table references they should return the same results. The final query I am working towards is SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i INNER JOIN `tblinvoiceitems` it ON it.userid=i.userid INNER JOIN `tblcustomfieldsvalues` cf ON it.relid=cf.relid WHERE cf.`fieldid` =5 AND cf.`value` REGEXP '[A-Za-z]' AND i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' But because of the different results that seem incorrect when I add the inner join (it removes some results that should be valid) it's not working at present, thanks.

I'm trying to include a regular expression in the join part of the linq query. from i in collectiona join j in collectionb on Regex.IsMatch(i.name, j.jokered_name) equals true (...) I agree i can push the RegExp check in the where part of the linq query, but i was wondering if it is possible in the join part ? The above code wants an "i equals j" code structure. One thing i think to perform is overriding Equals() which 'll contains the RegEx.IsMatch() stuff and put a simple i equals j in the join part. Any suggestions about my problem ?

• Match e-mail addresses not contained in HTML tag

  I need to highlight an email addresses in text but not highlight them if contained in HTML tags, content, or attributes. For example, the string [email protected] must be converted to <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> But email addresses in the string <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> must not be processed. I've tried something like this regexp: (?<![":])[a-zA-Z0-9._%-+]+@[a-zA-Z0-9._%-]+.[a-zA-Z]{2,6}(?!") but it doesn't work properly.
