  I'm learning Silverlight, and I know that if I master it, I can apply the same concepts to WPF, which means I can do either web or desktop development pretty easily. But I've read articles and followed the discussion online, and I understand HTML5 is gaining traction for being cross-platform, and a lot of people seem to be moving to HTML5. From my understanding, any HTML5 application would be built with HTML and JavaScript (or Flash). But is it secure? It seems like anyone can easily use their browser's "view source" option and grab your code. Is this something I should be worried about, or is there a way to protect against it?

• Abstract skill/talent system implementation

  I've been making small 2D games for about 3 years now (XNA and more recently LWJGL/Slick2D). My latest idea would involve some form of "talent tree" system in a real time game. I've been wracking my brain but can't think of a structure to hold a talent. Something like "Your melee attack is an instant kill if behind the target" I'd like to come up with an abstract object rather than putting random conditionals into other methods. I've solved some relatively complex problems before but I don't even know where to begin with this one. Any help would be appreciated - Java, pseudocode or general concepts are all great.

Since it is hard sometimes to get games to work in ubuntu (specially the new ones) i decided to use Windows mostly for games and ubuntu for work applications, such as programming, the adobe suite and whatnot. Here's my question: Is there anyway i can use Adobe Master Collection within ubuntu without using virtual mode? I've been searching it all over the internet but i get nothing.

  I was wondering if anybody can point to a post, pdf, or excerpt of a book containing the rules for C++ variable life-times and best practices for passing and returning function parameters. Things like when to pass by value and by reference, how to share ownership, avoid unnecessary copies, etc. This is not for a particular problem of mine, I've been programming in C++ for long enough to know the rules by instinct, but it is something that a lot of newcomers to the language stumble with, and I would be glad to point them to such a thing.

I can draw a resource allocation graph, but I'm not sure how to solve it from there. Is there a better more formal way of solving this? Consider a system with five processes, P1 through P5, and five resources, R1 through R5. Resource ownership is as follows. • P1 holds R1 and wants R3 • P2 holds R2 and wants R1 • P3 holds R3 and wants R5 • P4 holds R5 and wants R2 • P5 holds R4 and wants R2 Is this system deadlocked? With that in mind, I am trying to improve the failing Scrum product management structure of a company I'm now working for that has three separate B2C products, catering to the same demographic and accessible on the same website. Each product has a product owner and a unique development team (5 - 9 people in each) behind it. Given that the target audiences are similar (not sure if it should matter) and the 3 web products are similar in nature, what are the potential benefits/risks associated with merging the teams and having just one product owner/scrum master/dev team? Some questions that come to mind are: does it make sense to have 3 product owners and three distinct backlogs if your website has three distinct products? Also, if you only have one product owner, what is the best metric off which to choose who that will be?

My question is what is the best way to optimize the runtime of the solution ? Read all input, store it (in array or something) ,compute result for all of them, finally output it all together. or 2.
