  So my script works perfectly, but here is the issue, I have buttons (Sprite action here) that are 40px height, but the top 20 only shows perfectly. When you click the button ie img the bottom 20px show perfecto! but... Issue, i included in my script a way to return all others to there default (only one should be selected) now, how can I fix this issue that I seem unable to correct as I can select multiple of them ** USERS can switch ** The last part of the script that is the issue.   I am trying to figure out the right regexp to match on list item id's. • Trigger the change event of a textbox in jQuery

  I have an asp:TextBox with asp:RegularExpressionValidator to validate if it's a number. Obviously an onchange event will be attached to this textbox while rendering. Also I add a change event at $(document).ready to make some calculation when the value is changed. <asp:TextBox id="myText" runat="server" /> <asp:regularexpressionvalidator id="myRev" ControlToValidate="myText" runat="server">*</asp:regularexpressionvalidator> $(document).ready(function(){ $('[id$=myText]').bind('change',function(){ //do something }).change(); //force the change event at the very beginning }); My function will be executed later than the .net generated js because of the register time. But the .net js throws an error. I traced in the js: function ValidatorOnChange(event) { ... } and found that all of event.fromElement,event.toElement,event.srcElement are null which causes the exception. Did I do something wrong? Any solutions? Thanks.

  HTML code is: <li> <a href="#" /> <ul> <li> <a href="#"/> </li> </ul> </li> I want to delete any node under $(this) = li that is not a link. If there are more than one link, just the first one is saved, and if there are links inside the ul tag, they are not included because they are descendants and no childrens. Something like this (I am cloning and outputting html): $(this).clone().remove('not(a:first)').html(); //Assuming remove looks for "a" as a first child Does not work, so I try with this: $(this).clone().children().remove('not(a:first)').parent().html(); Does not work so I try with this: $(this).clone().remove('not(>a:first)').html(); I need the original element as a reference after removal for chaining more operations EDIT: Ok! Second one works with a little syntax correction as some appointed (:not( instead of not() but I would like to know if there is any other solution similar to the third line so I don't have to do children().remove().parent().   Hi, I was trying to send an ajax request as POST request. But when i verified it on httpFox on firefox, the request is sent as GET. I tried pbht $.ajax() and $.post(). Many had a query regarding the same and had missed the "type" in $.ajax(), but even if i mention the type as "POST", the request will be of type GET. • Jquery: How do I fire/play a sound file when I want?

  I have some code that basically inflates a 'balloon' through 15 or so stages and then makes it pop at the 16th stage. (yes, images are changed). What I'm wondering now is if it's possible to use Jquery to play a sound file whenever I reach that 16th stage (or when whatever var reaches whatever value) - in other words...when I want. I've found several jquery sound plugins but they all create this player which I must then click for it to play the file.   So, I set the closing function for simple modal as follows: $.modal.defaults.onClose = function (dialog) { $.validationEngine.closePrompt(".formError",true); dialog.data.fadeOut('slow', function () {}); dialog.container.fadeOut('slow', function () {}); dialog.overlay.fadeOut('slow', function () { $.modal.close(); }); } The line where the validationengine closes prompts basically just makes some divs disappear. The problem is that I don't want things to start fading out until closePrompt() is complete. Is there a way to do that? Is the only way with a "callback"? I don't think it has that built in to the function. Any other way to do it?

  I have the following code: var selected = $('#hiddenField').val().split(","); ... if (selected.indexOf(id) > 0) { ... set value ... } I'm dynamically creating a CheckBoxList, and trying to remember the state of the checkboxes by putting the selected IDs into the hidden field. I get an error stating that "Object doesn't support this property or method". My assumption is that selected is an array, which should support indexOf. Is that incorrect?

  Hi, I've been researching for a long time, and haven't found a possible solution. The problem I have is that I'm trying to attach an event handler to an span element just inserted. So basically the problem is, when a user performs a particular action that I set (clicking a button by example) I call this function: function AppendSpan() { $('#mydiv').append('<span id="someid" contenteditable="true">Some TExt</span>'); //Then I want to handle the keypress event on the inserted span $('#someid').keypress(function(event){//Do something here}); } The problem is that the keypress event is never triggered on the inserted span, I tried with the click event and it works fine, but not the keypress or keydown,keyup events. I also tried with $('span').live("keypress",function(event){//Do something}); but didn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I need this to work only in FF, so no support for IE required.

• How to drag and scroll in a div with jQuery

  Hey guys, I've been looking around for some time now, but I can't find a way to combine these elements: I want a 100% width div, with 1 row of elements. I need to scroll through this div, just like: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/demo/scrollable-timelines.html So with a hidden overflow and such. But now I want some sort of smooth ease when I let go of the mouseclick, so it'll be like a sort sweep. So when I drag the screen from left to right, and let go of the mouse, it'll move on for 1 sec and linearly slowing down. Hm, am I making sense?
