  • Declare java enum with a String array

    - by chama
I'm trying to declare an enum type based on data that I'm retrieving from a database. I have a method that returns a string array of all the rows in the table that I want to make into an enumerated type. Is there any way to construct an enum with an array? This is what I tried, but from the way it looked in eclipse, it seemed like this just created a method by that name: public enum ConditionCodes{ Condition.getDescriptions(); } Thank you in advance!

  • Referring to a specific place on page

    - by misha-moroshko
I know that in Javascript document.location.href = "#my_id" tells the browser to display the same page starting from element with id="my_id". In this case, the address that appears in the address bar is in the following format: my_page_address#my_id Is this the only method to refer to a specific place on a page ? I'm looking for a method that will not show my_id in the address bar.

  • Auto-register class methods using decorator

    - by adamk
I want to be able to create a python decorator that automatically "registers" class methods in a global repository (with some properties). Example code: class my_class(object): @register(prop1,prop2) def my_method( arg1,arg2 ): # method code here... @register(prop3,prop4) def my_other_method( arg1,arg2 ): # method code here... I want that when loading is done, somewhere there will be a dict containing: { "my_class.my_method" : ( prop1, prop2 ) "my_class.my_other_method" : ( prop3, prop4 ) } Is this possible?

  • grails mockFor closure wierdness

    - by hvgotcodes
Right, so when I set up my mock using the testing plugin's mockFor method, I expect a method that returns null. If I do myControl.demand.theMethod {return null} in the debugger, the value that I set the 'theMethod' call result to is some closure in the debugger. If I do myControl.demand.theMethod {->return null} the value is null, as expected. I dont understand the difference....

  • How to instantiate a particular view controller with storyboard in iOS at early stage of loading?

    - by dmirkitanov
When using tabs with storyboard in iOS 5, some of them may take quite a long time to initialize when switching to it (for example, a tab containing GLKViewController). This happens because an amount of work in viewDidLoad method in this controller could be very big. Is there a way to initialize particular view controller (and call it's viewDidLoad method) defined in the storyboard at early stage - when an application starts? Having done this, the delay should be eliminated.

  • Recurssion Question : Revision

    - by stan
My slides say that A recurssive call should always be on a smaller data structure than the current one There must be a non recurssive option if the data structure is too small You need a wrapper method to make the recurssive method accessible Just reading this from the slides makes no sence, especially seeing as it was a topic from before christmas! Could anyone try and clear up what it means please? Thank you

  • Trouble with abstract generic methods

    - by DanM
Let's say I have a class library that defines a couple entity interfaces: public interface ISomeEntity { /* ... */ } public interface ISomeOtherEntity { /* ... */ } This library also defines an IRepository interface: public interface IRepository<TEntity> { /* ... */ } And finally, the library has an abstract class called RepositorySourceBase (see below), which the main project needs to implement. The goal of this class is to allow the base class to grab new Repository objects at runtime. Because certain repositories are needed (in this example a repository for ISomeEntity and ISomeOtherEntity), I'm trying to write generic overloads of the GetNew<TEntity>() method. The following implementation doesn't compile (the second GetNew() method gets flagged as "already defined" even though the where clause is different), but it gets at what I'm trying to accomplish: public abstract class RepositorySourceBase // This doesn't work! { public abstract Repository<TEntity> GetNew<TEntity>() where TEntity : SomeEntity; public abstract Repository<TEntity> GetNew<TEntity>() where TEntity : SomeOtherEntity; } The intended usage of this class would be something like this: public class RepositorySourceTester { public RepositorySourceTester(RepositorySourceBase repositorySource) { var someRepository = repositorySource.GetNew<ISomeEntity>(); var someOtherRepository = repositorySource.GetNew<ISomeOtherEntity>(); } } Meanwhile, over in my main project (which references the library project), I have implementations of ISomeEntity and ISomeOtherEntity: public class SomeEntity : ISomeEntity { /* ... */ } public class SomeOtherEntity : ISomeOtherEntity { /* ... */ } The main project also has an implementation for IRepository<TEntity>: public class Repository<TEntity> : IRepository<TEntity> { public Repository(string message) { } } And most importantly, it has an implementation of the abstract RepositorySourceBase: public class RepositorySource : RepositorySourceBase { public override Repository<SomeEntity> GetNew() { return new Repository<SomeEntity>("stuff only I know"); } public override Repository<SomeOtherEntity> GetNew() { return new Repository<SomeOtherEntity>("other stuff only I know"); } } Just as with RepositorySourceBase, the second GetNew() method gets flagged as "already defined". So, C# basically think I'm repeating the same method because there's no way to distinguish the methods from parameters, but if you look at my usage example, it seems like I should be able to distinguish which GetNew() I want from the generic type parameter, e.g, <ISomeEntity> or <ISomeOtherEntity>. What do I need to do to get this to work?

  • interact with an interface?

    - by ajsie
from what i've read it seems that one can interact with an interface? eg. lets say that i've got an interface with an empty method "eat()" then 2 subclasses are implementing this interface. can my controller interact with only the interface and use it's eat() method? have a look at the picture in this link strategy

  • How to do a Post/Redirect/Get using Sinatra?

    - by John Topley
What's Sinatra's equivalent of Rails' redirect_to method? I need to follow a Post/Redirect/Get flow for a form submission whilst preserving the instance variables that are passed to my view. Does the redirect method preserve them? (I'm at work at the moment and don't have access to Sinatra to try for myself.)

  • C#: How to find the default value for a run-time Type?

    - by George Mauer
    So given a static type in your code you can do var defaultMyTypeVal = default(MyType); How would you do the same thing given a variable of Type so you can use it during runtime? In other words how do I implement the following method without a bunch of if statements or using Generics (because I will not know the type I'm passing into the method at compile time)? public object GetDefaultValueForType(Type type) { .... }

  • Quick question regarding Conditional Compilation (ifndef)

    - by sil3nt
Hello, This is quite probably a very silly question but I need to be sure. I've been given a class declaration in a header file eg. #ifndef file_H #define file_H class ex{ private: public: }; #endif and I've been required to write the method definitions in the same file, which I have done, my question is does the "#endif" stay where it is just after the class declaration or does it go at the end of my file after the class method definitions?.

  • Problem with thread after SCREEN_OFF in Android

    - by michael
I’m doing an application that listens to the android.intent.action.SCREEN_OFF in a Service (if that matter) and then it is supposed to wait a few seconds and launch an action, I’ve tried a timer schedule method, thread and handler postDelay method but all of them seems to fail, they are never executed on a device, it seems like it’s being freezed/killed after phone is locked. It works on emulator and on device attached to USB, but never with device working on battery only, which actually is a main scenario. Do you know any solutions to this?

  • URL Routing in Java

    - by Jack
Coming from other web frameworks, I'm used to being able to map parts of a URL to method parameters. I know that web.xml provides a way to map an entire URL to a Servlet but is there a way to get more features out of this, such as mapping pieces of the URL to method parameters?

  • When i add a bitmap to an array list the last element is duplicated in previous indexes

    - by saxofone2
I'm trying to implement a personal way of undo/redo in a finger paint-like app. I have in synthesis three objects: the Main class (named ScorePadActivity), the relative Main Layout (with buttons, menus, etc, as well as a View object where I create my drawings), and a third object named ArrayList where i'm writing the undo/redo code. The problem is, when I press the undo button nothing happens, but if I draw anything again "one-time" and press undo, the screen is updated. If I draw many times, to see any changes happen on screen I have to press the undo button the same number of times I have drawn. Seems like (as in title) when I add a bitmap to the array list the last element is duplicated in previous indexes, and for some strange reason, everytime I press the Undo Button, the system is ok for one time, but starts to duplicate until the next undo. The index increase is verified with a series of System.out.println inserted in code. Now when I draw something on screen, the array list is updated with the code inserted after the invocation of touchup(); method in motionEvent touch_up(); } this.arrayClass.incrementArray(mBitmap); mPath.rewind(); invalidate(); and in ArrayList activity; public void incrementArray(Bitmap mBitmap) { this._mBitmap=mBitmap; _size=undoArray.size(); undoArray.add(_size, _mBitmap); } (All Logs removed for clear reading) The undo button in ScorePadActivity calls the undo method in View activity: Button undobtn= (Button)findViewById(R.id.undo); undobtn.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { mView.undo(); } }); in View activity: public void undo() { this.mBitmap= arrayClass.undo(); mCanvas = new Canvas(mBitmap); mPath.rewind(); invalidate(); } that calls the relative undo method in ArrayList activity: public Bitmap undo() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub _size=undoArray.size(); if (_size>1) { undoArray.remove(_size-1); _size=undoArray.size(); _mBitmap = ((Bitmap) undoArray.get(_size-1)).copy(Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888,true); } return _mBitmap; } return mBitmap and invalidate: Due to my bad English I have made a scheme to make the problem more clear: I have tried with HashMap, with a simple array, I have tried to change mPath.rewind(); with reset();, new Path(); etc but nothing. Why? Sorry for the complex answer, i want give you a great thanks in advance. Best regards

  • ASP.NET MVC model state as text

    - by David Moorhouse
Is there an easy way to get a summary string of the errors that have been added to a controller's modelstate? I'm looking to return this in an Ajax method and want the validation errors etc to be returned to the client (i.e. the view does not exist for this method call). Or do I have to loop through the modelstate and look at each object and extract the error text manually?

  • Set MdiParent to null (Nothing) in FormClosed

    - by serhio
In my project I observed that in a FormClosed method (that handles FormClosed event) is set MdiParent = Nothing (null). This code makes (? no idea why) that OnLoad(method) on some child panels is raised. Is there any sense to set MdiParent to null (Nothing) in FormClosed?
